We met where?
Posted: 4/5/2009 5:25:39 PM | I read a page or so of the comments on this "We met where?" and its my opinion that because there are so many people meeting men/women for reasons other than finding your perfect mate, this has caused 'non-internet people' to feel it is an undesireable way to find love. There are a LOT of horror stories floating around in the news and via word of mouth because THERE IS a lot to talk about. Hell, so many people try this site and others like it and have awful stories. What we have to remember is that there are Millions of people using such sites and therefore you will find there is a lot of news to be told. There are a lot of horror stories from meeting in the bar or anywhere else as well but the news doesnt pick up on that. You cant compare the public aspect of the internet to meeting in a bar or at a social or anything else. The numbers just cant compare.
As for me, I will tell anyone exactly where I met someone and if they dont like it too bad. I agree with some of the comments I read. I would much rather say I met someone here or on any internet site than saying I met him in a bar. What these closed minded people have to realize is that when meeting someone on the internet, or ANYWHERE else, you just have to use common sense, be safe and take it slowly until you know what and who that person is. If people I know disapprove I remind them of that and they usually shut up! | | | |
