Sexism...
Posted: 7/31/2009 4:02:27 PM

now now ladies, it's not our fault we're better than you. name one woman who's ever invented anything

Marie Curie invented the x-ray machine (right after she discovered radium). And the saying "behind every good man is a good woman" didn't come out of nowhere.

Ireland?
Posted: 5/17/2009 4:11:29 AM
Wow, great info on Ireland...I very much would love to visit but I've heared that locals are quite racist towards non-caucasian foreigners. Is this true? If I (filipina) went there with my Pakistani friend, would he and I be treated poorly? He's told me on a handful of occasions having been verbally and physically harassed walking past irish pubs in his hometown of Manchester. Not that it would deter me, it just has me slightly worried.

If he was harassed in Manchester wouldn't that imply that English people are racist??? Ireland and England are very different places (I have lived in both). I really don't think you'll have any problems of that nature if you visit - Dublin was recently voted the friendliest city in Europe (by tourists of all nationalities).

Zorbing in New Zealand?
Posted: 4/19/2009 6:27:15 AM
Zorbing is great craic! I did it in Rotorua in NZ. Basically you get into a big rubber ball with water (or without if you opt to get strapped in) and then they push you down a hill. You slosh around inside, a bit like a hamster! It feels a bit like being on a water slide.
My top spots in NZ were Rotorua (hot springs, zorbing, boiling mud and mineral pools), Queenstown (bungee jumps, paragliding, luging, great nite life and the all important Ferg burger!!!) and Frans Josef (glacier walk).
Its a fabulous country! Have fun!

I went with GAP to Peru and the Galapagos Islands and would highly recommend them.

Galapagos Islands

I went with GAP Adventures and they were awesome! We swam with sealions, got close to them on the beach (like literally a metre away), met the giant tortoises and Lonesome George, saw baby albatrosses, watched the blue-footed boobies diving en masse! You'll have a ball... it is absolutely one of the most amazing places on the planet!

Vietnam advice
Posted: 4/18/2009 5:32:39 AM
Don't know anything about the trains I'm afraid but there is a tourist bus (optional sleeper bus) which goes from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Hanoi or vice versa. You can book that pretty much anywhere in either city. Your guest house/hotel will do it for you. The bus is hop on hop off and stops at Dalat (or Muine), Nah Trang, Hoi An, Hué and finally Hanoi.
My personal favourite places in Vietnam were the Cu Chi tunnels, Mekong Delta and Nha Trang.
Don't know of any heavy metal bars but if you look on lonely planets thorn tree forum maybe someone on there can help.

Ireland?

Get yourselves on the Paddy Wagon:

http://www.paddywagontours.com/

You'll have a ball and they'll bring you everywhere worth going. There's way more to Ireland than our fair capital - though the atmosphere in Dublin is great for Paddy's Day and I personally really liked the Guinness Brewery. Have fun!

What are women really looking for?
Posted: 4/18/2009 4:33:06 AM

I can't speak for *all* women but I did go to your profile and read it.
I think you may get more of a response if you checked your spelling and grammer.
I really am not being critical here... I'm just trying to help.
Best of luck,
~Lady~

I totally agree! Add punctuation to that list... and I didn't even read your profile. Ur thread comment was enough.

Seeking Advice for Sticky Situation
Posted: 4/18/2009 4:10:14 AM
Jenny,
I'm sorry to say that nothing has changed since the day he dumped you. He still hasn't told you why, but more importantly he hasn't done ANYTHING to make it up to you. YOU were the one that got back in touch, not him, and making allusions and suggestions is not exactly professing his undying love for you, is it?
My advice... you deserve so much better and if he REALLY wants to be with you he would make a huge effort to prove that to you.
Good luck.

Will a non smoker date a smoker ?
Posted: 4/17/2009 7:44:21 AM
I could never date a smoker. I'd gag every time I kissed him and be repulsed by the smell everytime he walked in the room. In fact, it's the biggest turn off I can think of!!! It just wouldn't work.
That doesn't mean all non-smokers feel the same though so I wouldn't overlook profiles on that basis.

when everything about the person is a lie

Sounds to me like your instincts were tingling (for good reason!) but you chose to ignore them. Next time, follow your gut!

Ending a Bad Date on a High Note
Posted: 4/16/2009 6:45:45 AM
I think in that situation you just gotta ride it out. If you chat to someone long enough before arranging a date (or have the low key coffee/drink first) hopefully you can avoid that sort of scenario. One possible solution is to arrange for mates to join you both. If its that awkward she'll probably use it as an excuse to leave anyway.
