Do nerds actually have girlfriends?
Posted:

I am, have always been, and shall forever remain a female nerd. I didn't get asked out in high school. Was called names like "Book worm" and "Einstein" and generally just blended into the background. Then I got my game on, I still am a nerd but I dressed it up a bit over the years. Nerd just means "well educated' whether formally or self taught. So don't dis the nerd, we rule the world. Just look at the new president.

Your statements are valid. Your logic impeccable. But I cannot help to remember what Frank Herbert said' When we make machines sentient and able to learn, we have signed the death warrant for humanity". Asimov was the originator of the concept. Thinking machines will be logical, efficient, industrious and economical. We are not. Then will we be their gods? Or vermin?

Just missing him

Time will make it all better. You're 'just missing him' now. Later when you are all better, you will want to take potshots at him (catharsis) and figure 'Yeah, I just miss him, but my aim is improving.'. So keep on socializing and concentrate on ANYTHING else.

Which foreign country has most beautiful women/men?
Posted:
5/12/2009 10:25:39 PM
Although beauty, being only skin deep, is truly in the eye of the beholder, ANY country has it's share of lookers and losers. There is no ONE country, what one person likes another will find unlikable. I have seen attractive people worldwide, and goons too. It's all is the reflection of individual preference. Discover magazine did an article on "The science of beauty" and determined by multitudes of faces blended into composites that the more faces blended into the composite the more that face was voted attractive by all nationalities. Ironic. The more blended or common the features became the more people declared the created face "beautiful". And the world is blending. This in a way is sad, because in the future those defining characteristics of each race may be extremely rare. I see beauty in the extremes of humanity, not grotesqueness, but strongly ethnic diversities.

do many girls enjoy tickling
Posted:
5/12/2009 4:12:50 PM
Psycologically, tickling is a threat that isn't really threatening. For a person to tie another up and 'assult' them with tickling is a thinly veiled attack. For the man to enjoy it is by definition, S & M. I was tickled in childhood until I could not breathe. If someone even suggests tickling to me, I inform them that I will probably react violently as a result of a bad childhood experience. I have no control over my reaction to it. As foreplay, if it works for you, great. But like anything, "different strokes for different folks".

Are US Men Obsolete?
Posted:
5/12/2009 4:07:03 PM
I always thought modern tv sitcoms were detrimental by showing US males as inane bumbling buffoons. This has given children, some women and even some men the wrong impression. And now life imitates art. We need to stress strong moraled men as role models, maybe it could start here. Most men on this site are just looking to "hook-up". I know their profiles may state "long term" but my experience has been that that is not the truth. So guys could go a long way to changing the situation by changing the behavior. Maybe women have just come to accept the fact that men in this country do not want committment, that the old values are gone, that they have decided a WIFE is obsolete.

Why Are Over 45 Men In Love With Motorcycles?
Posted:
5/3/2009 7:01:27 AM
Ringo17, some people have no way to define themselves and search for attention Met a guy who 'won' a harley at a police raffle and them spent thousands on gear and new parts to up grade the bike. He didn't even own decent furniture nor a house. Everything he wears is HarleyDavidson logo, even his pajamas. Crazy. Some men buy a motorcycle and "ride with the gang" because there is no room on the back of a bike for the family. He can make excuses, and run with the boys. Most men never 'grow-up' defined as 'don't mature'. Not attractive. It is obvious why the women get divorced, the men are picking up trash all over the place. Women are savvy to what is going on. They are not jealous of the machine, they are angry at the behavior. I think the women ought to get bikes and run with a gang of women, that would even the score. Leave the old man home with the kids, did you always think that you wife was really going 'shopping'? Like begets like. I am beginning to believe what a male friend of mine once told me "All men lie and cheat" but I try to believe it may only be about 90%. Now my kids are grown and I don't have to sit home waiting on the "biker" to come home. I make no promises and I tell no lies. That is freedom without the harley clown suit.

Why Are Over 45 Men In Love With Motorcycles?
Posted:

You are quite right. The pictures of the motorcycles are close-up color in HD, not like the guy's pic, vague and far away. I think the man may be seeking younger women. I grew up riding bikes, but I am bored with that now. It doesn't do a thing for me. I would rather not ride anymore. So to me, over 50 years old, it is not a marketing tool, it is actually a big red flag.

What are women really looking for?
Posted:
5/1/2009 2:51:28 PM
You seem an intelligent, attractive young man. But one lady said it best with her list. Sometimes we just don' t make the list. Keep trying. And answer me one: do you guys really think women like huge sausages? Have only heard less than 5 women in my life say they preferred well endowed men. Most women seem to be quite comfortable with the normal man-size. I think guys would be more secure if they knew most women want: Respect (Aretha said it best), your attention, affection (not to be equated with sex, at first), to be seen and treated as a woman but not as inferior. At least that is what I want and what I have heard from my friends all my life. We are no more complex than you are. You guys just want to believe we are so you can blame the female when things don't work out. (sometimes we are to blame, sometimes you are) And as for date-paying, I have paid as many times as I have been the recipient of. Not on the first date, generally the man demands to pay though I always leave the tip, but on subsequent dates, I at least offer and have treated men who have become my friends. Good luck, you will find the right girl, you have a lot of charisma.

How long to wait for sex
Posted:
5/1/2009 11:57:59 AM
Dave, you are a true gentleman. Make a romantic evening of it,with flowers, wine and home cooking maybe at your place (even if you pick it up from take out). A few months of dating regularly maybe the right time, if not then she is waiting for a commitment. I have dated for 16 years and had sex only after getting engaged to the man, completely logical. Men want sex, women want commitment. If the women would stop putting out so easily they would get commitment. That is what has changed in this country. No man will pay for what he can get free.
So girls, have some restraint. You want a real man? Hold out a little. He will respect you. You will respect you. Whores do not give love, just a meat socket.
What I am reading here is men who have lost respect for women, and women who have degraded themselves down to putting out for a meal. Sad.

Does God exist?

There are many things we know as facts today that only a short time ago were disregarded as myth. The proof of the Creator is in the majestical diversity of the creations, the complexity of the genetic engineering, the rarity of this sentient organic multitude of life on this planet, though there maybe other science projects of creation scattered throughout the universe. The same thought that would deny the existence of a Creator would have to deny the existence of the creations. So many people promote the existence of 'aliens' while they would deny the power that developed them and all of this that we see. A narrow perspective. We give ourselves credit for development and creation of inert, and organic, and manufactured things. But in our extreme arrogance cannot see ourselves as a creation. If things spontaneously appeared, then cars and airplanes should have evolved likewise. But they didn't. We created them. But the sentient AI may one day debate the existence of man.

The Creator exists. What the Creator is, does, likes, wants, or whatever, is as unimaginable to our puny psychic awareness as ours is to a bacterium. Men, in their egomaniacal arrogance cannot know the omnipotent mind of the Creator. Religious texts were written for social behavior. The mind of the Creator is know only to that being. Killing one another over overt and covert doublespeak in texts is insanity. People who quote scripture as 'the mind of God' forget, conveniently that it was written by men (happily no women -though the Gospel of Mary Magdelene was conveniently omitted by the male dominated Catholic Church) I am waiting for the Creator to appear and let me know what the truth is. For now all I adhere to is "Do unto others as you would wish them to do unto you". Says it all.

Who is the worlds best thinking expert ?
Posted:
4/29/2009 9:08:46 PM
I enjoy Issac Asimov's text books as well as the Foundation series, much of what he hypothesized materialized. Stephen Hawking is by far one of our greatest thinkers, far surpassing Newton and Einstein, and hopefully shall recover and achieve his greatest work of unifying relativity (general and special) with quantum mechanics. So we will realize that there is a mathematical basis to unite the two extremes of molecular power, massive gravitational attraction and the stronger subatomic forces. Nikolai Tessla stated that electricity and magnetism were the same just opposite ends of that particular power and now we know it as electromagnetism. The creative scope of Frank Herbert and J.R.R.Tolkien must be mentioned even if it resulted in purely entertainment, such intricate worlds of imagination are phenomenal. Albert Pike, though a psychotic reactionary, was of genius dimensions writing a series of books outlining the religious basis of three future world wars in order to turn the population of Earth to satanism, much of which has evolved through the efforts of freemasonry and the Illuminati (yes they did it, read 'Secrets of the Freemasons') L.Ron Hubbard though a science fiction author was charasmatic enough to invent Scientology, along the lines and with much of the flippant glitz of freemasonry. All of the religious texts, Torah, Koran, Bible and Buddaism, Zorastrianism were originated by deep thinkers. I've always wondered why Jesus, who was a highly educated and articulate man did not write his own text. The philosophy of Mother Theresa may have momentous implications had anyone written it down. Mahmoud Ghandi was great as a man who moved legislature to aid the Indian nation by his gentle rebellions. Eleanor Roosevelt was behind much of FDR's reforms. It goes on and on. There is no ONE, thankfully there are MANY and more to come.

Honey, it is a sorting out process. Improve your line with objective critique. Don't go emo on us, we are just as confused as anyone sometimes. You may need to define your search to people who are more like you. I have gotten emails for very young and very old men, though my profile sets parameters. Check the chicks profile and see if she is amenable to someone in your category. Yes, we are talking shallowness and categories, but we all know what we are looking for and probably won't respond to a guy, no matter how great he is, if he doesn't fall into certain guidelines. Doesn't mean you are not great, just maybe you need to find your group.

buy a camera, or pay someone to take your pic solo, I wouldn't give any guy even a call back who posted himself with a woman. Sure we are all DATING here, but really, your picture is going to work AGAINST you. Women are seeing it, so your best buds or other dudes are not going to be impressed by it here.

It is less intimidating to approach the girl in the gym, she will feel afraid if you stalk her to her car. Talk to her for a while before you jump to the phone number, no one should give out their number to an unknown like that. Make your opportunity, now is the time to learn to read people and put the woman at ease.

Mr. Murco. I empathize with you completely. I am new to this and it was overwhelming to get 4 pages of emails in less than a week plus IM.s jumping up . But to get HER attention, keep emailing her daily with cutsy stuff like a joke or something you did that day that puts you in a good light. Ask her questions ,not tooo personal, about what she likes to do for fun or what her favorite vacations was like, or stuff to get her to open up. Invite her for lunch at first, bring a flower for her, be a gentleman. Most women are not attracted to looks entirely, the intelligence and personality traits are paramount. Being attentive and not crude counts significantly. Being interested in her life, while trying to find similarities between the two of you is called "mirroring" and works. Good Luck. Jean
