Sex is sex and we no longer need to give or receive affection? What has happened to our age group?

Sex to me is incidental to affection. It is something I savour. It is the expression of love. The very thought of being with a partner that is not affectionate is abhorrent. If I am with someone, I am hers, she is mine and the day is an exchange of little favours, the warmth of a smile, the gentle touch of the hand, the pressure of her body against mine as we sit and read or watch TV, the feeling of warmth radiating from her body as we stand next to each other, holding hands while driving through the night, or the fleeting touch as we separate for the days duties.
What is life devoid of all that? What is sex without affection?
Does not your body cry out for it? Mine does......
...Ahhh, I couldn't have said it better..... I can relate to every word. Well done.

You can do anything that you want to without having to get an "OK" from your significant other.
...Exactly. It's 3:30 pm...I'm still in my jammies and watching the Stamps/Roughrider game on tv. The wings are in the oven. whoo. hoo.

1. Who ask out, should expect they will pay. If a woman ask me out, I will almost insist I pay half, and often the whole thing if we are having a nice time. But remeber whoever did the asking out should be prepared to foot the whole bill. It's not a given the other will offer.
...Msg 401....Your rules may be old but they are right on.
My last three meets went like this (all 3 guys asked me out btw)
Even though guy number one asked me out, I offered to pay my share but he insisted on paying.
With guy number two, we each paid our own share, but he did offer to pay for the entire meal.
And meet number three, we each paid for our own meal. But in this case, guy number three did not even offer.
In all honesty, dating can be expensive on the guy so therefore I do not take for granted or expect that they should foot the bill. What turned me off with guy number three was the fact that he did not even offer.....it would have been a nice touch.

Oh! We recently purchased a Wii. I've never been interested in video games but this whole interactive with body movement thang has me facinated. Matrix, anyone? Meh! But it does seem very Star Trek Holi-decky. I found myself thinking about how back in the day many things on Star Trek were so far fetched. I soooo want a transporter... and WARP DRIVE! Awesome!
...I wanna try the Wii Fit.... That is, if I can pry the controllers out of my daughter's fist.
You know what's fun?...Guitar Hero. I never laughed so hard...neither did my girls.I had a blast...and yet it looks so easy(lol).
Yeah....this is exactly what I pictured for my future

WoW! I see a lot in this thread that I'm not looking for
..How can this be?
Is it our Canadian winters that are scaring you off ? OK, I admit it...the toques don't exactly make a fashion statement and nobody like to spend seven months of the year shovelling snow. But there is something to be said for snuggling before a warm fire and making whoopie on those long cold winter nights.

finding a dance partner is one of the hardest things to do. I have a male coach and he says that it is easier to find a wife than a dance partner
...I think you may be right. Not one single person in my area is interested in taking dance lessons. I have been trying for years to get someone to join. Finally I just said to heck with it and joined on my own. The problem was once I got there...the woman really out numbered the men. We had to "share" the male participants.(lol)
Mae, I am so proud of you. Oh, for a silver haired dancing machine to be my partner! Bought a new dress with a sexy kicking skirt...........
Thank you. I wore jeans and boots but I noticed most ladies were dressed in skirts and heels....that's a good enough reason for me to invest in a few cute skirts...the twirly kind (lol)

Wow! Starting with the easy ones huh! I understand the horror show there, my ex couldn't do it, she hadn't the balance.
... The instructor assured us that should we ace this one all the rest will be easy. Now that remains to be seen.
Whoo hooo mae! At least you got out there and tried. Go back this Saturday (that's an order!), it will get more fun each time.
...I did have fun. I also discovered that dance can be quite a workout...I felt muscles I didn't know existed.

How do you older women feel about a younger guy in a relationship
Posted:
11/18/2009 4:57:56 PM
...I'm not sure how I would feel... I guess that would depend on how young he was. I didn't have a problem with it when I was younger to date younger...but now...I don't know.
I'm thinking 5, maybe 6 years younger would still be within my comfort zone.

Nose & Ear Hair
Posted:
11/18/2009 4:39:53 PM
It's called "manscaping" and it's an integral part of being clean cut.
..."manscaping"...cute, I like that.
Of course, age means that certain hair appears in unwanted areas.
...uh huh, there's one on my face that grows back no matter how many times I've plucked it out. I'm lucky in that being part native I don't have much body hair so the "upkeep" has been very minimal
Some nose hairs, however, require a needle-nosed pliers and a swift yank. Being inebriated helps keep the screaming to a dull roar.
Ouch! that really hurts, I yanked one out once and it brought tears to my eyes.
Unfortunately it's been a very long time since I've been close enough to a man to see if there were any stray nose hairs peeking out.

Having a younger child
Posted:
11/14/2009 9:20:10 AM
..When I first ventured out into the dating world I found that men my age were not interested in dating someone with children. In fact, I had been corresponding with someone at the time and just before we were to meet he sent me an e-mail saying he didn't want to take this relationship any further.
Apparently, after a bit of soul searching and, even though he thought I was amazing (from what he knew of me) he wanted to travel. That was why he joined PoF in the first place.
I can't blame him for having a change of heart and my only issue with the whole thing was that why did he contact me in the first place knowing I had children. That was 3 years ago.
My youngest has since moved out and I now just have my 14 year old at home but even that sometimes can be a deterrent for some men.
Hang in there...from my experience, there are plenty of men out there with children at home you can still mesh with.

I find just the opposite, Maeflowers. Of course single fare is cheaper than two fares for simple airfare, but when considering Caribbean holidays, everything is set up for two in a room and there is a penalty for single occupancy
...Your are probably right. I've lucked out in that my daughter is in the travel industry she does corporate travel but is also a cruise specialist.... So of course the savings are always passed on to mom.

If you had a lawn and you were standing upstairs looking down and a man was trying to get to your front door, because he really wanted to ring your bell for you and had something superb to deliver, that was going to do wonderful things for your front passage, how would he find your front yard?
...I will never be able to look at my front lawn quite the same again without thinking of this post.... and so much for asking the neighbour's son to cut my grass.

Good for you, girl. Santa's helper, hey. It's a fun site/store. They give good layout. It's a little weak in some areas, like leather and plus-sized lingerie.
..Well I did want to whisper a few things in Santa's ear....And like I said earlier, I' haven't been naughty all year....and if there truly is a Santa...I may get the opportunity.
I believe I was into my slow tantalizingly thorough defilement of all that's pure and sacred mode at the time. It was early in a relationship. It's all good.

Okay Serenity...fill me in...what is a MENCH???
A German word which, in Yiddish, means "a good person". A mench is a particularly good person with the qualities one would hope for in a dear friend or trusted colleague; a gentleman.

Are older men sometimes intimidated by older sexy women?
Posted:

Ms. Mae...."step away from the power tools"...as stated above it is not a requirement just one form of confidence. There are many other forms of confidence that are sexy in a woman. Having red hair and green eyes is just another one of those sexy things that is a personal favorite but certainly doesn't intimidate me
...Well what a coincidence, I just happen to have red hair and green eyes, well hazel eyes...close enough.
In all honesty, I wouldn't want a man to feel intimidated by me...but I would want him to think of me as strong, confident and desirable.

I only think it's fair that if I know how to cook that a woman should be comfortable around power tools. The more that we both have in common the better. It is definately not a requirement though. It is just one trait in a woman that I find sexy...confidence.

I don't think it matters what your age, you should care about the person before you sleep with them. You are worth something to yourself and you should never settle for less than what you deserve which is the best.
...Absolutely. I have never been a person to engage in indiscriminate sex.. Ever !

but I have been called a hot blooded little Metis on more than one occasion.
Wow! Even better than a Uke...
Ahhhh yes, I suppose I am/can be passionate in that respect too (given the right partner) ...but in actuality they were referring to my temperament haha

What a man over 45 looks for in a relationship.

I think a man looks for various things in a relationship;
A woman who doesn't mind cooking
A woman who does some housework
A woman who is great in the sack
A woman who holds down a decent job
A woman who respects his free time
...Oh dear....I'm doomed. Number three....ummm, ahhh....Ok, I do have a decent job.

Maybe Miss Cassa, it is generally thought of as hygenic as it simply "feels" clean and smoooth....Least that is what my "friends" tell me!
.....Yeah, my friends are a good source of information too * wink, wink nudge, nudge*
And according to them waxing is supposed to be pretty painful. Ouch!...all that hot wax...makes me want to cross my legs
I recall reading ads in Hustler magazine
Ms. Twisty I'm sure your subscription was for the same reason as mine...the articles.
...Yeah, I bet

Friend vs. Lover?

Naw....in Quebec we have this expression: Menage-a-trois.....
^between you and i...
i was thinking the same thing...
but i wouldn't like to appear presumptous...
(especially to mae)...
...A Menage-a-trois? I think the only one being presumptous is rearguard
Ms Mae is a Ukrainian....they make the French girls look like prudes.....no need to worry!
...Ukrainian indeed (Not that there's anything wrong with being Ukrainian you understand)...but I have been called a hot blooded little Metis on more than one occasion.

Friend vs. Lover?

Well, I do admit to being conflicted when it comes to beautiful women. Something to do with being male, I think.
Actually, I admit to being conflicted when it comes to just about any of the hedonistic pleasures. I am probably just morally weak....
...I know what you mean...it was so good I felt I had to marry him. And the thing is, even when the marriage failed, I really didn't want to give up the "good parts"
Edit to add: I'm joking of course, I would not have married someone for just that reason, there were other reasons too...trying to think....thinking.

I would hate to think that I was either using or being used by my sexual partner. To me that would imply either she was doing me a favour or that I had no respect for her. To me there is no place for victimization in such a situation. Lovers give and take pleasure from each other. All of the "using" crap is just the root of dysfunctional relationships. Somebody is not really a willing partner, and so is lying. If its the woman who is allowing herself to be "used for sex", she is a liar, pure and simple, no excuses. Its dishonesty of a fundamental nature which can result in nothing but unhappiness.
...Makes sense. That's what I like about your line of thinking, it's not all about sex with you.
Its OK, daffie. If you care to use me for your pleasures, go for it. Just be gentle. I want to survive so that others may do the same once you tire of me
...Ummm, scratch that last statement.

What's the upside to being over 50 and single

...For me, one of the upsides to being single is travel is so much more affordable for one... and I like the fact that I have the freedom to travel when and where I want to.
I went to Vegas last December and I'm flying home to spend the Christmas holidays with my sister this year. But I have been seriously thinking about taking a cruise in the new year., someplace warm of course.

Who? some imaginary man? Honestly, I never think about being held by an imaginary man. Breathe the smell of him.................sounds too teenage crush for me. that is not human natural............more like romantic nature of dreamers
...Ahhh Mori, where would we be if it weren't for the dreamers of the world, without them we wouldn't have learned how to fly, walked on the moon or marched for peace.

Empty Bed Blues is the name of an old blues song,
I think I've sung that tune a number of times.
Now I understand how it takes people time to learn to move from being married to being single. After a number of years though, keeping the "I need to have someone in my bed or I will be unhappy" attitude is all about attitude and the ability or lack there off to go with the flow.
...Wanting to hold someone in your arms has nothing to do with being unhappy. Don't you ever wish... just once, to have that skin contact. To feel his skin against yours. To breathe in the smell of him,...that's a natural human need whether you wish to acknowledge it or not.
