hell i dont even know where to start on this topic.

i cannot believe that this is even a topic being considered.

back in the day, when i co hosted, a fair number of people got the boot, because of alligations of profiting.

my suspision is that 1/2 of the hosts were profiting and the other half most certainly were not. lord only knows what kind of research was done to investigte these alligations, from what i remember it was one or two people pointing the finger at other groups and poof, suddenly people were banned, some off the website, and some from hosting parties.
in one specific case the bar wasnt even contacted to verify this fact.

so now u are telling me, that u think this might be a good idea ??

this site is FREE, no one gets paid, its one thing to get a free meal/drinks, another thing entirely to get paid to do this.

how would u even begin to determine what is fair 'compensation' ??

as a result of all the alligations, ontario lost a helluva lot of good hosts, and pof losts its visibilty in ontario. the numbers that we used to get at parties last year and even before that, have dwindled to almost 1/2 the size.

and just for the record, hosting cliques dont exsist in ontario anymore, due to a few wonderful people, that didnt like the fact, that other parties had higher numbers, they would report that hosts were profiting and boom, bye bye good party.

so i think this is an extremely asine idea.

@ OP i dont think it has anything to do with the types of men u are choosing.

i think it is the way of society today that it is much easier to walk away from unpleasantness, and dispose of people, rather than working on things.

lord knows i have walked away from people, that potentially could have been very good friends, probably because of a simple misunderstanding, but at the time my feelings were hurt, and rather than be a grown up about it, and get in their face, and demand answers i chose to walk away. one, because i felt rejected and two because, i felt my friendship should hve been valued more.

in relationships though, i cant say i have ever done that to anyone, but i do find that men seem to be masters at this. (no i am not man bashing, just stating my reality)
i guess it is because women need closure far more than men do.
as well i may have something to do with the fact, that we usually think that we have done something wrong.
in my mind, men need to grow a set of balls, and say 'hey i am just not that into u, it has nothing to do with u, ect ect ect ect....'

yvonne, u dont know me, but Dar, can vouch for me.

while u may have snapped under pressure, u are HUMAN, and that will happen.

it takes alot of friggen work to do these events, and u cant be ON all the time.

i know cause i have co hosted tons, with some of the best.

i have been stalking this kudo thread, and the original thread since u started it, and u sweetheart did an amazing job, keeping eveything organized, keeping it real and positive, (trust me u had some 'interesting' questions come up, that i saw) and most important, moving the thread, and making each person feel special. (that last part is a skill, trust me!)

so even though i wasnt there, and probably have no business commenting, i can see just by what people have posted in this thread, that they had an amazing time, hell its 3 days later, and they ae still posting.
the only advice i can offer u (not that u asked) :)) is to delegate and delegate, so that u are so not overloaded, and rememeber people love helping, cause it makes them feel wanted and needed, and who doesnt want that ??

one more thought as well, takes a mighty classy woman, to apologize in a public forum, and that means that u must have an awesome character.

sorry if i put my two cents in where it was needed nor wanted, but u roll like i do, and it seems to me, that u wont have peace, until u right the wrong u think u may have committed.
i would almost bet, that those people, never even gave your snapping a second thought.

i dont just burn, i get heat rashes, and hives to boot.

2 things lionesstorie that have helped me, buy the sport brand for kids, it appearantly is waterproof, and stays on longer, and if u can buy the continual spray that they have out now, that works as well.

and i too have heard that anything over 30/45 is a waste of money.

i use the ones for babies, and as long as i reapply it, i dont seem to get the burns.

the reason i suggested the kids sport one, is cause i know what u do for a living, and i imagine, when its really hot out there, u work up quite a sweat.

Most of the guys on here, aren't into Black women PERIOD!! They ignore the Black women who don't post, they ignore the Black women who post "positively" and they ignore the Black women who call them on their prejudices. From personal experience, they showed little interest when I wasn't posting. They showed little interest when I posted about hobbies, cooking, music, horse riding, travel and the arts. So may as well confront them about it and let it rip. If that comes across as negative tough.
Let's put it a different way.....if, for example, a man is not into BBW or a woman is not into short men, do you think it's going to make any difference if your posts are all sweetness and light or if you confront them about the fact that they are shallow. They've already ruled you out. May as well express yourself.

As for me, I give up. I am here for the forums. I now use other methods to meet men. If occasionally I see a profile that grabs me, I ascertain his degree of openess to considering a woman with my background. If he is open, I send a photo and I send my profile secretly. This "oh you made a negative comment in the forums and so that's turning people off" is CRAP! If they have made up their minds that they aren't going to even consider anyone remoetely like you, nothing you post or don't post will make a difference. I believe in reality not pasting on a smile or placating people who are prejudiced. If some people take that as negative....too bad.

But i dont see what that whole blurb up there ^^^^ has to do with negativity, other than she/he is being negative, and why does she/he thinks its all about them ??

as for me, i used to post oodles in here, now i see nothing worth really responding to anymore, but when i did, i know people thought, and some probably still do think, that i am a ****, but then when they met me, they were like wow, u are so nice.

so if u choose to judge me based on what i post, then in my mind it is your loss, not mine.

as for negativity, it is just another form of whining in my mind, and i cant stand whiners.

on the topic of a drive in, i hosted an event similar to that on another site and it went over very well.

everyone bought lawn chairs, and someone brought a portable radio, and someone even had a flatbed truck with an air mattress.

there was absolutely no problem socializing at all.

mind u having said that i dont think that i would recommend it for the very first event, where people dont know each other that well.

I have a tiara from the party there where we celebrated my birthday....thing kept falling off....I think they should have brought crazy glue

@celtic angel, just for future reference, since i am not sure if either of u are aware of this, the mods did go on a binge, and not just in this thread, but in all the threads, and deleted a whole whack of posts, because 'certain people' go insane with them.(not meaning that u do that celtic angel.)
and for further future reference, just so everyone knows, hosts can get their parties yanked if they delete too many posts, it is the responisibility of the hosts, to keep the non topic chatter down, and also if someone is using too many smilies.

on that note, i am looking forward to getting out and seeing the east end crew, the shawa cew and the northern crew, and having a blast.

matter of fact dont even click on the link to see what it is all about, last time i checked your finger was still attached to your hands, meaning u have the power to bypass even looking at this.

as for the hostess, she could have worded her response back to u better, the first time, but at least she tried to come back and apologize for that.
when i started out hosting, i didnt like it when someone attacked my parties. so i can totally understand her reaction.

As for me.....
I've driven a standard stick ever since I was a kid (too damn long ago) and would NEVER even consider driving a "slush-0-matic" automatic transmission. For me, it's about whether you're simply along for the ride, or whether you take satisfaction in driving well, understanding what your vehicle is both doing, and caple of doing, and getting the best from it.

Pro's.....
Better mileage, less maintanance, lower initial cost. Lower overall cost of ownership, you can "bump" start it if the battery is totally dead.... just to name a few.

And finally, the sheer FUN FACTOR of driving for the sheer joy of it


AMEN !! i adore my stick, and once u get past first gear, its not that hard to learn at all.....

^^^^ it wasnt just u mr. mennis, there are a lot of people that dont realize, that excessive use of these little things >>>> can get your posts deleted, and even earn you, a posting ban for a couple of days, it is posted in the rules and regs btw. now i am not saying u did, but there are a couple of people that like to go a little loopy with the use of them.
