girl has bf but still likes me?

Yep, definitely a girl game. Find yourself a woman. This little girl sounds confused or is just an attention whore!! I doubt she wants to be with you, it sounds more like she wants the attention. She's stringing you along!

Maybe you're searching too hard. Remember relationships are built they don't happen overnight! Go meet people and build on the relationships you already have. Your mate my live right next door, or be a co-worker. A friend of a co-worker you never know.

Expectations
Posted: 12/24/2007 8:09:22 PM
You should only have expectations on yourself. Like honesty and loyalty!! If your honest and loyal, etc to them, maybe they'll be the same to you. To lay expectations on someone you don't know well is very disappointing. You have no clue about there past or their personality. Meet your own expectations, and it will attract others that are the same or willing to be the same.

christmas break up also
Posted: 12/24/2007 7:44:40 PM
At least you found out now and can start out fresh for the new year.

You really don't need a two timing jerk. You only met him six months ago and you were living together? Where's he living now, with the other girl? Maybe he's just using people.

As for your son, I do feel bad for him. He'll probably have some seperation anxiety, but he'll get over it, he's only six. It sucks that it was done so close to Christmas, but at least it's done.

You'll both be better off that its been done now, and not further down the road.

Try and enjoy your christmas, and may you have a a great new year, with out a two timing jerk!!

Just try being his friend again. If you actually cared for him in the first place, you would have settled for just friends. You shouldn't have been selfish and said nothing, it sounds like you didn't care.

How do you feel when someone asks you about your friend in a picture?
Posted: 12/24/2007 6:16:30 PM
Sorry, I don't really know the answer to that one. Only the person who said it was tacky does.

Maybe the person is actually looking for more but doesn't want to admit it. Maybe she's jealous, you didn't ask why she's not looking for more. She put it out there, she wasn't here for nothing, there's no actual good reason for her actions.

They shouldn't post pics of their friends anyways.

Split Week (4/3) Custody Arrangements
Posted: 6/3/2006 2:53:45 AM
You mean 3 days with one parent , 3 with the other and altering , ie Sundays right? or you get 4 and he gets three?

My sister has that custody arrangement with her oldest son's father. It's ok until one of the parents get irresponsible about the child's schooling. Or the other parent expects you to pick them up because, they have an "emergency"! As long as their fathers nothing like my ex-brother-in-law it could work out good. You just have to have it okayed by the courts should you decide to move to another school district.(if the other parent's a jerk)

Make sure you stick to the schedule, don't do to many "favors". Even if you don't want to make "waves" be amicable, but not a pushover, make sure they stick to the agreement. I guess your ex will have to pay for a baby sitter, if they work.(hint, hint)

Don't fall into the role of on call baby sitter, the favor won't be returned. And they'll expect it.

I had a friend who had custody of his daughter, and the mother only got to see her wed nights and every other weekend. The daughter practically has very little interest in her mother what-so-ever.

It's all going to depend on the situation and the people involved.

Just remember they're children, not possessions!!

If you know her parents name, then do a search on them. If you know what school she went to, maybe her parents still live in that area. http://find.person.superpages.com/
Good luck.

Tony's journal

They aren't actual seperated rooms, just areas, seperated by partitions. Set up to resemble living rooms. They rent the movie go to the area and watch it. It's set up as a restraunt, and movie rental place all in one. You can go just for the restraunt, or to just rent movie. Or use the areas, to sit with your friends and watch the movies.

Sammy, sort of like going to a Video Shop picking out one, then sitting down in a room the Shop has set up to watch it?

There's a place in Michigan that does this, near MSU. At least there was in 2000.

They have a huge Bookshop and all new Books. They turned half the shop into a Coffee shop. You wander in,pick a Book up off the Shelves, sit down and get Coffee,Cake whatever served to you.

In Pittsburgh, Barnes & Nobles and Starbucks have teamed up to do this.

do you get tired of people who is 24/7 busy?
Posted: 3/9/2006 6:35:55 AM
No matter how buzy someone is, if you matter to them they make time for you.

A phone call and an email aren't enough? You try running 7 companies, finish writing a book by a deadline, editing your websites, etc...... (Just a typical week for me, how about you)

I have employees they're incompetent, so is my human resources department I hired. Now I'm firing people, hiring new people, and re-delegating. Sh*t happens!! People decided to slack while I was "down and out" the last couple of months, now I'm kicking *ss and taking names. You think I like having to go out of town and stay in a hotel for over a week, because my employees screwed up?

So, yes people get busy, yes they work long hour, and yes sometimes people need to quit whining and appreciate the time that the do get from their partners. Or find a person, that is more compatible to your needs.

I hate to break it to you, but no one is that busy unless youre a leader of a nation or working in the intelligence field

Think before you type!!

Time spent together
Posted: 3/9/2006 6:24:02 AM
It shouldn't be about the quantity of time together, it should be about the "quality" of the time.

Some people may not, be serious about the relationship, or the people complaining may be "needy" and "clingy". Heck, they're complaining to the forum, can you imagine what the other person in the relationship must endure?

I for one, actually at this point and time, don't have enough time to devote to a relationship. That should be resolved soon.

I don't have time management problems, I have incompetent employees quickly finding their way to the unemployment line.

Speed Dating Disasters
Posted: 3/7/2006 9:02:03 PM
People, YOU'RE SINGLE! Does it make any sense to dismiss an avenue for meeting someone? Speed dating has gained popularity for A REASON. It may not be for you, but the bottom line: you never know! You have nothing to lose by trying and everything to gain.

If they're really true to themselves, and are looking, they won't dismiss a way to meet people.

But I've been noticing alot of scornful post towards different ways of dating, and complaints about meeting people. It seems alot of people are "professional" online daters. I just hope for them, that in all the frenzy, they aren't looking for the "Hollywood moment", it rarely happens.

People need to be true to themselves, and they'll find what they want, just don't expect love at first sight. Sometimes you have to take a second look.

And remember, don't carry on the "fantasy" too long, you have to meet the people!!! Better yet, don't fantasize about the person; you'll probably get it wrong. If they peak your interest go for it. Just because you meet them doesn't mean you have to marry them. (Thank goodness)

Only you can decide if you are really going the distance on finding love or not. But for those with bad remarks about certain avenues of finding love, can you really say you're trying? Do you actually feel your in this for love? Most importantly, when was the last time you took a step back and re-evaluated what you want in your future partner, and is that what you've actually been looking for?

is an education important?
Posted: 3/5/2006 7:33:37 PM
I agree with Just cats and Tee

@designing woman I personally can't stand people with a narrow mind and choose to stereotype people

Most educated people in the professions would not be caught dead in the redneck zone

NASCAR's fan base — and its image — is changing, too. NASCAR isn't all about Bubba, beer and barbecue anymore.

The enduring caricature of NASCAR fans is one of beer-guzzling good ol' boys camped out in RVs at trackside or on the infield. To be sure, the RVs still roll in on race weekends, and the coolers and campgrounds still are full.

But contrary to this blue-collar image, a large portion of NASCAR fans are relatively affluent: More than 40 percent have household incomes topping $75,000.

In Daytona, at the Bistro on the infield, patrons drink martinis and dine on jumbo lump blue-crab cakes and artichoke dip.

Seven floors up in nearby Nextel Tower, stock car fans watch races — either by looking out the window or at large flat-screen televisions — in luxury suites that sell for up to $200,000.

•Condominiums trackside at the Atlanta Motor Speedway allow well-heeled residents to watch races from their living rooms or from a rooftop bar — free of the hassle of long lines and big crowds and safe from the smell of burned rubber and high-octane fuel.
•At the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, members of the Speedway Club can drop their children at its day care center and get a manicure and a Swedish massage — or take a kickboxing lesson — at the facility's health club and spa.
•The Daytona track just opened its exclusive 500 Club — membership fees begin at $2,500 — where patrons on race days get bar and buffet service and a seat above Victory Lane.
•The Indianapolis Motor Speedway offers golf packages — the regular greens fee is $90 — at the Brickyard Crossing, a course adjacent to the track that includes four holes on the infield.

Like the rest of the sports world, NASCAR caters heavily to the corporate customer. Luxury suites and boxes are available at tracks from New Hampshire to California and every grandstand in between. In today's business world, it is almost a necessity.

Who buys them? I'd say it's almost all the companies involved in motorsports, either through sponsorship or the manufacturing aspect of the industry, And I think a lot of the people who end up in suites are people who own cars because they want to watch their investment.

Even when that investment is $15 million, the approximate cost to field one Nextel Cup team, there is more to it than simply watching the cars on the track turn left every half mile.

The suites, as in other sports, are used by corporations to entertain current or prospective clients and reward employees.
But you can in the suites, some of which are soundproof. Others have noise — intercom chatter between drivers and crew chiefs, for example — piped in. The suites come with food and drink and a wait staff. Some have live entertainment, others have video games for children. All have air conditioning.
The Atlanta Motor Speedway boasts 137 such luxury suites; the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, 130; and the Texas Motor Speedway 144 — some with walls covered in genuine cowhide.
The suites mostly are sold out and all are expensive, ranging in price from about $70,000 to $200,000.

The best seats at the Texas Motor Speedway come with a kitchen, a bedroom or two and a chandelier.
The condominiums in LoneStar Tower are perched high above Turn 2 of the racetrack. Each of the 76 units features either a balcony or stadium seats placed in front of a cantilevered glass wall in the living room, allowing residents to watch races.
The building has a Texas-sized — and shaped — pool and a clubhouse. Across the street is a golf course. And a golf cart ride away is a helicopter landing pad that residents use to speed to their weekend homes.
The views of the track from the condos are spectacular, but they aren't cheap: Prices for the units range from $325,000 to $1.1 million. And, as with the luxury suites, the condos frequently are not busy. Some units are occupied year-round by residents, but others only during the few times each season when events are held at the track.
The setup is similar at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, where Tara Place has 46 two- and three-bedroom condos that offer views of the track.
The penthouse apartment's spiral staircase leads to the roof, where a bar and captain's chairs provide a comfortable and panoramic view of the 1.5-mile racing oval.
At the Texas Motor Speedway, that trend would lead fans to Turn 1 and the Speedway Club, which bills itself as "the place where elegance and acceleration meet."
In the three-tiered dining room overlooking the track, the chandeliers are Italian crystal, the dance floor Italian marble and the menu not exactly from the heart of Texas: grilled basil prawns, Tuscany chicken roulade and pan-seared sea bass with orzo pasta.
A giant, cantilevered window stretches from floor to ceiling, providing a close-up view of the action. Nearby is a lounge with live entertainment; another floor features a 26,000-square-foot ballroom.
The Speedway Club's health club and spa, like the dining room, is open year-round. It provides personal trainers, aerobics and kickboxing classes, exercise equipment, saunas, hot tubs, child care services, massage therapy, manicure services and tanning beds.
The club's initiation fee ranges from $1,500 to $37,000, depending on type of membership.

I'm sure the next time I'm making a business deal, I'll think of this post and smirk.

So instead of looking at things narrow mindedly, maybe you should look for something that you like, about it and peaks your interest. Others that like the Hamptons have. Hhhmmm, I guess all those there aren't superficial snobs.

Or the least you can do is thank all the "Bubba's" in the world for cutting edge safety features in your vehicle. ( The credit for most safety features and the technology of automobile safety, has been accredited to NASCAR.) Or even the performance or aerodynamics of your vehicle.

Don't be a hater.

Btw other people, just because someone doesn't have a "traditional" education, doesn't me they don't have anything to offer, or that they can't have an intelligent conversation.

Should Everyone Marry?
Posted: 3/2/2006 1:50:22 AM
No, not everyone should get married!! Especially, not for the reason of experiencing it. Get the hell, away from your ex-girlfriend.

People fail to realize what marriage is all about, it's not like any other relationship.

Marriage, is all about commitment, no matter how you view it. It's about consciously and definitively linking your life to another person life.

In other types of relationships, there's a safety net that exists allowing either partner to leave the relationship without messy legal and domestic related issues.

In other relationships, even when you share a child, you maintain a certain amount of independence in your life.

Marriage blends lives. It blends lifestyles. It unites goals, dependencies, joint activities. This can take some serious adjustment if you are not aware of it. If you do not make the adjustments, you may find yourself in a divorce.

Your spouse is not just your roommate, friend, or your co-parent. They are your spouse. Your lives are joined legally, emotionally, mentally and financially. It is a great deal more difficult to abandon a marriage than it is in any other type of relationship.

Think about the things you would give up or blend as a married person that you would not really have considered doing when you were in a less committed relationship.

This isn't a bad thing, unless you can't deal with change. It's what marriage is about. When it comes to dealing with the change you can help each other adjust and support each other on the issues that may trouble you individually. Your spouse needs to know your levels of expectation as much as you need to know theirs.

As a married couple you'll grow and change individually and together. Acknowledge and recognize those changes for what they are, and work together to maintain your harmony. You, your spouse and your marriage will likely be happier for it.

People fail to realize these things, that's one of the reasons the divorce rate is so high. It takes more than love to make a marriage work.

The immaturity of your ex-girlfriend's comment scares me, no wonder you're having nightmares.

Whackos won't let a soldier's family grieve
Posted: 3/1/2006 7:30:41 PM
There are some sick people in the world.

Kokomo, February 27 - For the family who lives in a modest home in Kokomo, the fatal Iraq attack came last week.

Then the attack at home followed.

Vandals defaced the home of Sgt. Rickey Jones’ family. Eggs were thrown and flags were stolen. Sgt. Jones, a Kokomo High School graduate, was one four soldier’s with the 101st killed west of Baghdad last week.

So who, one week before his burial in his hometown, would vandalize a fallen hero’s house?

Neighbor Robyn Ousley is at a loss to explain. “I have no idea, somebody pretty, pretty awful.”

Another friend, Bill Swaggerty, says there is more than vandalism for the family to deal with. “They’re calling here and saying, ‘I’m glad your son is dead’ and it’s wrong.”

The family’s neighbors have closed ranks, bringing food and flying flags at half-staff. All are signs of respect for Sgt. Jones.

Thank g-d for good neighbors in the heartland of America. But apparently, there are more sickos coming in from out of state to harass this grieving family:

The same Kansas church group that has been picketing soldier’s funerals around the U.S. and Indiana will be in Kokomo too. The group claims U.S. soldier deaths are punishment for U.S. tolerance of gays.

Kokomo Police will have extra security and are running extra patrols at the house. Swaggerty, a veteran himself, says he convinced Rickey Jones to join up. He can’t believe Sgt. Jones’ memory would be attacked in this way. “It’s wrong. He would come home on leave. His friends (were) very respectful to my wife and my family. He was a very good kid.”

Swaggerty supports a move in the legislature to keep protesters back from military funerals.

Neighbor Ousley agrees. “He just went over there for us. I think it is awful.”

Services for Sgt. Jones are set for next Monday. In the meantime Kokomo Police have increased patrols around his family’s house.

Brown blames Homeland for Katrina response
Posted: 2/28/2006 12:47:04 PM
I bet if Al-Qaeda blew the levy's it would have been handled swiftly, and from the whitehouse down so as to soak up all the patriotic political capitol Bush could get his hands on.

Now that's the truth!!!

The point is still 6 monthes later, still barely any action, resourses rotting on an airfield, funds not distributed, and supplies being turned away from those who need it.

The gov't will answer to this by forming a committee to assign a sub-committee to investigate whether or not there should be a committee to form a sub-committee to handle the red tape for this. Then, they'll handle it. You know how it is.

The amazing thing is they have enough time and resources to investigate this, yet no one's intelligent enough to take care of the problem. They just want to point the finger.

Blacksheep and most of America figured out what to do, but our appointed gov't officials can't?

You didn't know that POFers defy all odds?

Have these people not learned that eventually they will get found out???

Some of the people just never meet others. This is there "fantasy land".
Others are just stupid enough to think they can get away with it.

Another reason, why you don't email and chat for months!!! You have to meet the people. Most people blow their cover in the first or second chat session.

Stick to the truth, it's easier to remember.

Men who use the term well endowed should have to use a special rating system, like college libraries specifying whether they are “city college endowed”, state university, or Harvard. For the particularly gifted, the term Library of Congress suggests the appropriate level of massive volume.

Men don't read your whole profile.

Men only want sex. Oh, wait we knew that.

They're not cylons, they're just physically unattractive people, quit being superficial.

Trend of more drug use. The new pick up line ??
Posted: 2/26/2006 7:44:01 PM
The whole scene really is mostly harmless and it's been that way a very long time.

An attitude like that is why it won't change.

only a handful get into trouble and give the whole thing a bad name.

Yeah, like when they shot my baby brother in the back eight times , to "prove" a point. Their point:Don't interfere with them beating a homeless "crack-whore" for cash, when you're suppose to be helping the homeless, with other things. (btw, my brother didn't make it)

drug use amongst young people is nothing new

no, their drug of choice has just changed. Pot is harmless...that's why they've moved onto other things.

Coke and heroin are a few of the only real baddies, but anyone doing that generally knows it's a bad idea and either has a deathwish or serious mental issues.

True, did you see my post as to why I left my ex? Here's what was left out, I was staying with my sister helping her, she had cancer. While I was gone my ex and his buddies decided to spend $28,000 of my money on their crack habit! When I returned home, he got verbally abusive towards me, I left. You can find the other thread about all the sh*t he did to me, but now he's in jail for a very long time.

Drugs aren't new, it's just the users attitudes have changed. They're more open about their use now. Once someone gets that heroin, meth, or crack...watch out.

And what's crackin' isn't a pick up line.

It kind of sucks, I don't use drugs, but it had a nasty way of screwing up my life on more than one occassion. So much for it being relatively harmless.

Sorry guys, this is just a very sore spot for me.

Americas Major sea ports being sold to our enemies, so much for homeland security
Posted: 2/26/2006 3:25:35 PM
I forgot to put this in my previous post.

A sheik from the United Arab Emirates contributed at least $1 million to the Bush Library Foundation, which established the George Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M University in College Station.

Then again, Clinton selling control of US ports to China while at the same time receiving money ILLEGALLY raised from Chinese donors.

Dirty politicians.

This has been bothering me for a few days now. Sorry if this goes off a little, but these are my notes and findings after reading hundreds of articles.

Let's play who operates what

American's are afraid of an Arab corporation working at port facilities on the East Coast of the United States. WAKE UP AMERICA!!! Because for years there has been a Kuwaiti corporation that`s been involved in the port of Newark, in the port of New York and there has been no incident.

That didn't shock you? How about this?

The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia

Owners:

Government of Saudi Arabia, Saudi individuals and establishments,Head Office Riyadh, KSA

The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) was established in 1979.

Ports operated by NSCSA

Baltimore, MD, Newport News, VA, Houston, TX, New Orleans, LA, Savannah, GA, Wilmington, NC, Houston, Texas, Port Newark, NJ, & Brooklyn, NY

Oh and 2 in Canada:
St. John, Canada, Halifax, Canada

Where's the outrage, for this? 15 of 19 highjackers on 9/11 came from Saudi Arabia.

And you all have been quick to point out that two of the 9/11 hijackers were from UAE.

At the port of Los Angeles, 80 per cent of the terminals are operated by foreign companies. Chinese companies operate more than half the terminals.
What exactly has John Kerry done while sitting on the Transportation Committee all those years?

Several companies will lease terminals at a single port. In New Orleans, for example, the company Dubai Ports World is trying to buy (P&O Ports) is just one of eight companies that lease and operate terminals. Dubai is buying up a British company that leases terminals in American ports.

The operations of the ports and port security are seperate entities. Port security is handled by The United States Coast Guard, the United States Customs Service and the Department of Homeland Security. Any complaints about this? Call the federal government.

P&O Ports does business in 18 other countries. Dubai Ports World already operates port facilities all over the world, including China, Australia, Korea and Germany

Let's play follow the money

International Longshoremen's Association and its president, John Bowers. The ILA have contracts with the British company Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co. (P&O), the current operator of ports in New York, Baltimore, New Jersey, New Orleans, Miami, and Philadelphia. Now the ILA will have to negotiate with DP World, owned by the Dubai, they're not reknowned for Unions.

Here is a list of the major anti-Dubai supporters and the amounts they have received in campaign contributions from John Bowers and the ILA:
Senators:
Menendez - $39,500, Clinton - $4500, Lautenberg - $9000, Schumer - $4500, Dodd - $2500, Boxer - $6000

Representatives:
Peter King - $5500, Jerrold Nadler - $22,500

FYI on Mr. Bowers - He was charged with racketeering and named as an associate of the Gambino organized crime family in a July 2005 civil complaint filed by federal prosecutors in Brooklyn. by the United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York, Roslynn Mauskopf.
Bowers an annual salary of $413,556 from the international union
$154,467 from the Atlantic coast district
$568,023 total annually
Now what politician wouldn't want ties to organized crime?

Bush Family, & Friends
The oil-rich United Arab Emirates is a major investor in The Carlyle Group, the private equity investment firm where Bush's father once served as senior adviser. Just last year, Dubai International Capital, invested in an $8 billion Carlyle fund.

Bush's brother, Neil Bush, has reportedly received funding for his educational software company from the UAE investors.

Treasury Secretary John Snow was chairman CSX (a railroad company). After he left CSX for the White House, they sold their international port operations to Dubai Ports World for more than a billion dollars.

Bush chose a Dubai Ports World executive to head the U.S. Maritime Administration. David Sanborn, the former director of Dubai Ports' European and Latin American operations, I think last month he was asked to oversee U.S. port operations.

It's really getting deep for Bush!!!

Also, the UAE gave $100 Million to the Katrina relief effort just a couple weeks before their take-over deal was reviewed.

For the record, the $100 Million donation was 4-times greater than any other donor nation and 5-months after the disaster
, but I’m sure that's just a coincidence. (just like all those FEMA trailors, still sitting in the Arkansas field - sorry whole other thread)

There was no argument when the UAE donated $200,000 to fund a professorship in Middle East studies at Columbia University that was filled by a virulently anti-Israel and anti-Bush professor named Rashid Khalidi (selected and hired by Columbia, NOT by the UAE nor by Dubai).

There weren't protest from Mrs. Clinton when President Clinton announced May 1998 that America was selling 80 F-16 fighters to the UAE.

Did these politicians protest back in December 1996, when the Clinton administration's assistant state secretary, Robert Pelletreau, went on UAE television to announce: "On the international stage, the UAE is universally respected for its generosity and commitment to regional security and fair-dealing. These qualities reflect the exceptional character of Shaykh Zayid, who is truly the father of his country, and a respected statesman."

After the death of the president and founder of the UAE, Shaykh Zayid bin Sultan Al Nahayan, Mr. Bush issued a statement on November 4, 2004, mourning the passing of "a great friend of our country," "a close ally," who built the Emirates "into a prosperous, tolerant, and well-governed state."

I still have no clue where I stand on this issue. I'm just trying to answer questions running through my mind. Are we being unjust by racially profiling the UAE? They have played both sides of the fence, they did stall the gov't when they were trying to get bank records after 9/11. They do have numerous large investments in the U.S., they have contributed back to the U.S.

Why are we racially profiling, how many Americans were found in the terrorist training camps? Need I remind everyone of Oklahoma City? We do have Domestic Terrorism.

If we're all hysterical over the ports, does this mean the terrorist are winning? We're obviously terrorized about the idea, even though Arabs already run U.S. ports.

Are we just letting the self-serving politicians use us as pawns so they can gain a few seats in the next election?

Right now, I guess , i'm going to have to rely on what i know:

The UAE government is our "ally" in the War on Terror. The UAE "helps" the US in the War on Terror, while simultaneously funding Hamas terrorists to kill Israeli civilians.

Saudi Arabia is our "ally" in the War on Terror. Saudi Arabia "helps" the US, while simultaneously "helping" the Wahabbists to spread radical Islam throughout America and the rest of the world.

It is imperative for everyone to remember that the employees and managers who will be on site managing the various ports' operations. They'll be the same United States citizens that currently fill those positions.

I don't know if I should be more disappointed in our National Security or our nations obvious racial profiling

I guess everything may just have to come down to: DTA/CYA Don't Trust Anyone, Cover Your Ass!!

How do you know they're not responding because you're a single father?
Read your profile, it says if it bothers them , that's ok. You shouldn't judge anyone on their preference.
How do you know they respond to the "Fabio" types?
Don't assume they're only responding to "Fabio" types.

If someone doesn't want children in their life that's their option. Don't force it on them, it'd only make things worse in the long run.

Don't even, assume that the hot pic is them, it could be someone playing games.
