My "drive" has always been an 11 on a scale of 1-10 , but it's gone into overdrive since around mid thirties. I usually date younger guys but even they cannot keep up. Why date younger men? My GF is 16 years younger then me, and just starting to peak, and tells me that she is glad I am older, as she thinks she could not keep up with me if she had met me earlier. Some of us old farts actually stick around and last long enough for you to enjoy it too!

Your 23, I am in my 50's. I too was overweight. Five years ago I decided enough was enough. I started to eat less, all healthy and exercised with some regularity. I lost 80 pounds, and kept off 75 of that. I am 10 pounds from my ideal weight, and I will get there. Took me 10 months. Suck it up buttercup, if I can do it, you can. This "I am naturally big" is a cop-out, and frankly a load of BS. My metabolism is a whole bunch less than yours. Back off or eliminate the booze... those are empty calories. I enjoy what I eat, make sure it has tons of flavor, but also make sure that lots of veggies, whole grains, and lean meat (preferably wild). Go out hunting, get out, walk, carry that backpack and your rifle, stay out for 4-5 days, crawl down the valleys and up the hills or mountains. You will lose weight, but you have to work at it. Quit feeling sorry for yourself. I have no problems attracting women, and my current GF is 16 years younger than me.

Interestingly enough, an ex and myself that a FWB situation for a while BECAUSE we were great in the sack... but our relationship otherwise was not going to go anywhere. Of course, we agreed that if either started seeing someone else sexually, our trysts would have to end, and they did. Both her current BF and my current GF are aware of the situation, and we all have met for coffee and kidded about it. It does take some maturity to deal with it though.

If it's worth it to you both, get therapy and do some 12 step stuff. Not sure what 12 step is involved when neither one of us smokes, drinks or uses drugs. Oh, and we are not particularly religious, so that would seem to exclude most 12 steps programs I have heard about. They seem to have an extraordinary reliance on "higher powers" and acceptance of them.

I have been dating a woman for a number of months who in many ways is very compatible to me and my lifestyle. We agree on virtually everything, have similar intellects and interests, etc. etc. In fact, if it were not for one issue, I would be very comfortable in moving in together. That issue is her anger streaks. She finally admitted that she does have anger issues. Now, I can be pretty tolerant, but I refuse, and have told her so, to be in a relationship where I need to walk on eggshells just to ensure that I don't get an angry stream of words at me. I do want to try an make this relationship work... in all other areas her and I are a great match. I will do what it takes, but feel I need to stand by my principle of not wanting in my life frequent angry outbursts. Has anyone effectively and successfully dealt with this issue in a relationship?

In my case, it has worked the opposite. There have been a couple of relationships where we were "an item" over a longer period of time (over 1 year) and then broke up, however, continued as FWB until one or the other started getting involved with a third party. In both cases it worked out well, and I am still friends with both. No more benefits, as in all cases we are with other partners, and obviously that would not be right. In fact, my current partner and I had lunch this weekend with one of the FWB and her new partner.

She is in your age range. We connect on so many levels that I am not concerned that she has a bit of a belly and a bit of celluloid on her thighs. What is important to me is that she is someone that I believe I can build a long term and permanent relationship with. Yes, some of those "barbie dolls" are great for a man's ego, but if there is not more then a great body and pretty face, how the heck can one build a relationship that lasts? Im wondering is it wrong for a 22 old man to want sex at least once a day? Wrong???? Hell no. I'm 57, and there are very few days me and my GF don't have sex at least once and often twice a day, and no, I don't take Viagra. I am also very lucky that she and I have perfectly matched libido's. That is not always the case, and it sucks when that happens. I have been there, and hated it.

I had an age restriction of 45-60 on my profile (I am 57). Then a woman who was 41 wanted to contact me, and indicated as such in the forums. I lowered my restriction, and we have been a couple ever since. Yes, at first I was quite concerned about the 16 year age difference, but the closer we got, the less I worried about it. She can still keep up with me, so everything is good.
