Well I'm still best friends with my ex. We were together for three years and were even engaged. I think that if you really want to make a friendship work with this person than you can. I mean you obviously cared enough about this person to be in a relationship with them physically or wotherwise so why should it be so hard to remain friends? Suppose it depends on the circumstances surrounding the break up.

Totally, everyone has needs and at some point you gotta act on them. Theres no shame in that. Had some pretty good results doing it too
