classy women in clubs have they gone the way of disco?
Posted: 9/26/2009 5:17:01 PM
I have always been Classy whether I show some cleavage or not, classy is an attitude inside and out. I have to agree with the poster who said that if more men dressed better at clubs, you would see the women up their game as well. A green bananna now that is classy..:)

What has most changed your life journey?
Posted: 9/26/2009 9:30:19 AM
As I read through these posts I have tears in my eyes for I can feel all of your pain but I can also see such strength in all of you. It's totally amazing what one body and soul can handle and hopefully come out the other side in one piece.
Here are my life altering moments
*Adopting my two children when I was 40
*Getting divorced a few years afterwards
*Being in an abusive relationship where I was almost killed
*Having the strength to stand up to him and put his sorry butt in jail
*Finding out my Mom and best friend had cancer and moving back to the east coast to be with her
*Starting up another company and going bankrupt in the process
*Having a wonderful friend take his own life
*Meeting a wonderful man that I lost to another and having my heart broken
*Getting back on my feet by finding the best job ever!
*Surviving the worst year of my life and realizing things happen for a reason.

You are all in my hearts and may you find some peace and love...MsBehavin

How do you get over it all?
Posted: 9/22/2009 7:13:12 PM
Well OP I truly do feel for you but darlin the anger is eating you up inside. If your ex and his new woman know this annoys you by your actions, then change your actions. It might be the hardest thing you might ever have to do, but me, I would plunk my butt down right next to them and laugh and smile like you just won the lottery. I think you will find that letting go of your anger is going to be the best thing for you and for your children. Good luck gal and I hope your heart feels better soon...MsBehavin

Hummmmmmm so if she went on holidays with a gal friend would that be ok? Look out they might be into each other..what it all comes down to is TRUST ..if you don't feel that you can trust her in your heart, then its time to move on. If she has never before ever given you any reason do doubt her..then why now?

Hey OP...I know this is no joking matter for you so I am going to tell you of my experience with a very good male friend. He and I went to Mexico together and we had a blast...as FRIENDS~! Yes, it is possible for men and women to be just friends. NO, he was not gay! If she wanted him, why would she be with you. If she has known this guy for several years as you indicated..then she sees him as a friend, nothing more. Not sure why we haven't figured out that yes men and women can be "Just Friends" with no strings attached. Your woman is with you and yes maybe on her part it isnt' too cool to leave you home. Personally, I would have taken you along as well. Did you even suggest that?

OK..well as a person with a "CERVIX" and having a mother who just went through UTERINE CANCER at 82 years of age, I definitely have to say anything that has been proven to prevent or treat this horrible disease is a plus in my book. I only wish they had a vaccine for breast cancer maybe several of my family would still be here today.

american citizens living in canada
Posted: 9/19/2009 7:33:25 AM
Ahhhh yes..on that note...Now to hopefully give you some answers.

My niece is married to a great american fellow and to be perfectly honest, he has gone through hell trying to be a resident of Canada. Apparently, it is much tougher to get into Canada than it is to become a resident of the US..who knew! It is just not Americans either as another friend of mine has a Thai wife and it took at least two years to get her residency. Canada Immigration website will certainly help you out, but I think you were looking for advice from some people that have been through the process. All I can advise anyone moving here is to have patience and follow the rules. My nieces husband delayed his stay in Canada and his paperwork was set back another several months, so ya have to play by the rules. Not sure if this helps any but thought I would pass it along..good luck!

I would love to see some sort of chat or instant message back again...typing out a whole email just to say hi to some a##hole that cant' take a few minutes and reply back really sucks. Its getting rather boring just checking out profiles ..thank heavens there is at least the forums to relieve the boredom.

Posted: 9/3/2009 1:27:26 PM
Well hon not all people on POF are like the man above. I have truly met some wonderful guys on here as well and actually there are some gentlemen. The OP was asking for BAD first date experiences so thought with a little humor thrown in (who could not laugh at this date..lol) I would share this one with all of you.

Good luck and may you only date the "normal" ones..oh wait this is pof..."Why Be Normal!"

How far would you commute for a first date?
Posted: 9/2/2009 10:32:49 AM
Depends on how cute and rich he is... kidding

One great guy I know drove all the way up from Washington State to take me to a Chrismtas party...our very first "date" so that was way cool. Obviously, the distance was a deterent in a LTR but we are still great friends to this day.

Living on the island that bloody pond in the middle causes lots of headaches to meeting some great guys on the mainland but if he was the one, I would be on the first ferry boat over to see him. Love knows no boundaries.

Now THIS is a BAD first date
Posted: 9/1/2009 5:17:55 PM
OK..well I don't know if this is a typical POF date or not but here goes my nightmare.

So after chatting on emails and by phone and two coffee dates we decide on an actual "date". He has called me up and offered to make me a wonderful steak dinner with all the trimmings including the wine. He shows up and hour and a half late, slightly drunk, with two raw potatoes and left over roast beef!!!!! Worse than that, he didn't bring any damn wine!~ Well, I could tell this night was definitely going to call for wine, so I made him go and get some. He comes back with like a keg of wine...hummmmmmm...is he trying to get me tipsy..I dont' know he has made such a great first impression (this is called sarcasm)! The first hour was good and hell yes, I reheated the roast beef and made baked potatoes only for him to inform me that he has been eating all day and no longer hungary. Well me and my great anticipation of this friggin wonderful steak dinner had not eaten all day, so thought to myself screw you buddy I am having my dinner. As my mouth is full of roast beef, he decides to try out his don Juan persona and grabs my chin and sticks his tongue in my mouth...(feel free to gag here)...all I can say is ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww...As I prepare to throw him over my deck and into the ocean I decide this a**hole is sooooooooo out of here. As he is leaving he says and I would like the rest of my wine. Oh if I could only have sent it where I wanted too....ahh yes, the world of pof dating!!! That is enough to last me for a longggggggggg time.

Loyalty
Posted: 8/30/2009 5:48:07 PM
This is a great topic OP.

Loyalty comes from within. It's really all about the person you are. Are you a true and loyal person in all your relationships? From Friendships, Family and to the one you love. I am loyal to a fault. Treat others as you want to be treated with respect, dignity, love and loyalty.

I still love my black lab though...

I think having the interested/not interested box is a great idea abacusblack. Even a smiley face or a wink to send if you are interested would be cool instead of always having to type out an email only to find many are too rude to even reply back.

Would you let your 13-year old teenager try to sail around the world... alone?
Posted: 8/30/2009 2:32:20 PM
As for my child not making there bed..ahh why did you assume it is a girl!!! As it happens its my 13 year old son with ADD but as usual on these forums it seems no one is allowed to express their opinions without being stomped on by some that don't bother to think before they post. I guess that makes you feel special or something.

With that being said...I do believe being a parent does give us a better insight into the minds of 13 year old. No one on here is saying that she isn't extremely intelligent or incompetent but what is the rush except to break a record? Is it truly worth risking this young girls life?

I would never want to take away anyones dream but it comes down to safety and being a responsible parent. This young lady has alot of determination and strengths and I am sure she will go far in life.

Well as a mom of a 13 year old who can't even make their own bed...ahh the answer would be "Absolutely NOT". A 13 year old does not have the life skills to handle every possible situation that might come up sailing around the world. An accomplished sailer has a difficult time with the elements let alone a 13 year old girl (or boy).

Being able to BLOCK insane people...oh wait..no that one doesnt' work!!!

Having a sense of humor in the forums without getting your panties in a twist..

Meaningless sex if you want it...a place where you can pretend to be ten to fifteen years younger and believe that you actually are....

Being able to joke around..oh wait no you can't do that either...geez...now I just feel sad.

Just noticed that myself as well that the Favorites list is gone...I sayyyyyyyy ya...but have to admit am not sorry to see the forums list go either. Also something else that is new, now when you do a search it also includes what you both have in common like dancing, movies, etc..so that is kinda cool.

Spelling and Grammar, does it count?
Posted: 8/20/2009 6:14:46 PM
Well I have to comment on this..and thank you Balled Eagle for pointing out one of my misspellings. We are all unique. My ex husband was deslexic but he was one of the most intelligent people I have ever met (not many people say that about their ex but its the truth). So he didnt' always spell correctly...if we were all perfect do you think we would be on POF....humm something to ponder. I look beyond the typing mistakes for we are all human and yes, gasppppppp..even I make mistakes. I think we are all so quick to judge people on so many insignificant issues. I have seen university educated people on here make spelling mistakes..try not to judge others..life is too short to be so judgemental...hugs to all..MsBehavin

is romance dead?
Posted: 8/18/2009 10:33:51 PM
Romance is so much alive...you have to let your heart be open and if a man comes along that wants to romance you...accept it. He is one in a million on here...so if you find romance...don't discount it. For me romance..is just that..its romantic. If someone takes the time to romance you...find out more about him or her...there are so many players on here I feel like I am in a poker tournament. Don't question it...go with the flow...what do you have to lose? Life is short so if you find someone who wants to romance you..go for it!!!! There will always be negative people but you dont' have to accept them into your life..go with the flow and give love a chance...good luck my friend..hugs MsBehavin

POF Lessons
Posted: 8/2/2009 12:07:27 AM
I have been on here since April of this year and I have to say I have met some fantastic people. In reality, we all have to be true to ourselves..who are we truly looking for? Someone who completes us? Someone who is our soulmate? I think in each of our hearts we know who we are truly looking for..so in my mind, why settle for less? If you are looking for long term and you truly mean long term, then find the one that makes your heart sing. Every time they enter a room..they make your heart pound and you can't help that smile from ear to ear. That is what I am looking for long term and I won't settle for anything less. I might not find my prince charming on POF but who knows? Just dont' ever give up..you never know what is around the corner. Keep your heart open to possiblilities and be ready for true love..its just a heart beat away...May you find your hearts desire..MsBehavin

keeping dogs cool during this heat wave
Posted: 7/30/2009 11:30:16 PM
I have a black lab and he has been sweltering in the heat along with me. I usually take a beach towel and get it soaking wet with cold water and wrap it right around him. I make sure to especially get his belly wet as he seems to hold most of his heat there. He seems pretty happy after a cool body wrap. Otherwise, I take him down to the ocean and we have a swim together.

He drinks out of the toilet bowl as well even though he has fresh cold water in his dish. I guess maybe it is colder.

Hope this help..MsBehavin

Who Loves Thunder storms?
Posted: 7/27/2009 1:20:23 AM
Being originally from the maritimes..wow..the big storm was something to see!!!! What was most amazing was the sky here on the island just before the lightening started up...it was yellow, pink orange, purple and then coming over the island out came this beautiful Rainbow..now if that isn't spectacular I dont' know what is

On the east coast we had wild storms in the summer and the humidity was unbearable and you couldnt' wait for the thunder and the lightening to shake the whole house. My grandma use to tell us kids that when it thundered that God was bowling and got another strike!!! That always made me smile

Wow..this is a powerful question for me...

I regret losing so many family members to cancer and heart attacks

I regret not telling them I Love them more

I regret losing a wonderful friend to suicide

I regret moving away from my family so early in my life

However everyone of these people knew or know how important they are to me and how much I loved them, but to just have that chance to say it one more time or to make that hug an extra long one.

Do you think people are too picky on pof
Posted: 7/7/2009 9:43:41 PM
Whether you are on POF or just out there looking..its important to find the "one" for you. I don't consider that being picky..I consider that a wise choice and someone who actually wants to be in love for a lifetime. I am not ready to settle...Just like every one else, I am attracted to a certain type of person and why settle for less if you know it will not last?? So is it really picky or is it just a wise choice to wait for the one that is right for you? There are alot of terrific people on here but not all of our personalities mesh with each other. If you plan on spending a lifetime with someone, why not make it the right one...Here is hoping you all find the one..hugs MsBehavin
