Stupid Warning Labels
Posted: 5/30/2009 11:06:16 PM

Oh, & does anyone remember the McDonald's coffee one? Some chick in the US buys a coffee at the drive through, puts it between her legs. Squish goes the cup,
pop goes the lid. She ended up needing plastic surgery for burns all over her inner thighs & groin area. Now they have a warning on their disposable cups, all
around the rim: WARNING! Coffee HOT!

Oh no, i remember that. What's even worse, is she sued them and got like a couple million dollars for her dumb judgement. Who the hell is that stupid to put a plastic/styrofoam coffee cup in betewen your legs? If i was the judge in that case, i would've dismissed the case and laughed at the woman for being such an idiot.

Quinoa
Posted: 5/30/2009 5:32:26 PM
Quinoa is a great grain. And i agree hands down with 'brianthechef1981', if you like/love tabboleuh, then you really need to try it with with Quinoa rather then Bulgur or Couscous. At a place i worked at a while back, one of the lamb entrees was served with Quinoa with chervil.

Why do Men ask to see your pics then NEVER talk to you again....?
Posted: 5/30/2009 5:28:05 PM
Unfortunately, women are guilty of the exact same thing, and i speak from experience. It's either because they just arent interested, or are very shallow and stuck-up.
I hate people who judge just on looks. It's stupid.

Speeding
Posted: 5/6/2009 7:21:29 PM
May not be Pennsylvania, but it's close enough.

A state trooper was working overtime on a freeway catching speeders and was 30-minutes away from ending his shift and about to go on holidays.
An old man speeds past him and the trooper chases after him. The man then speeds up and high-speed chase ensues.
After about 20 miles, the old man finally pulls over and the trooper approaches him.
The trooper says: "Sir, you led me on a big high-speed chase. I have 30-minutes left on my shift before my holidays and i've been working OT and im tired. If you can provide me with a good enough of an excuse, i'll let you go."
The old man replies: "Well, you see officer. My wife left me and ran off with a state trooper about 20 years back. I thought you were coming to return her."
The trooper replies: "Have yourself a good day, sir."

On a Superman cape: "WARNING! This outfit does not enable wearer to fly."

On a package of Planters Peanuts: "WARNING! This product contains nuts."

Dont contact me anymore some advice on that
Posted: 5/6/2009 6:47:23 PM
Just leave her, its not worth it. In retrospect though, I can see wanting to see her just to return her belongings, i do think that that was the right thing to do, but if she says 'no contact' then, then just dont bother, its not worth the effort. If she wants her things back, she'll contact you herself.

Dumpster Sex

Good greif...... that gives a whole new meaning to the term 'Dirty Sex'. Up against a dumpster is bad enough, but inside it??? What the hell were they smoking?

Is microwave cooking bad for you?
Posted: 5/6/2009 6:13:58 PM
A microwave is more meant for melting or thawing things out or taking away the chill/cold, rather then actual cooking. If you doing something like taking the ice off of something, or melting butter or cheese, then a microwave is ideal, but for actually cooking something like a lasagna or shepherd's pie or anything is just wrong for numerous reasons. The biggest one is it cooks VERY unevenly. Although you can control "settings" on a microwave, it doesn't operate the same way as turning up or down on a stove of a grill. A microwave also has a tendency to make food, especially processed foods, very soggy. A great example is Breaded Chicken Tenders/Nuggets/Fingers. Take 10 Chicken pieces. Put 5 in an oven at 375F and bake for about between 15-18 minuts. Put the other 5 in a microwave at high-10 setting and nuke for about between 3 and 3 and a half minutes. While both are cooked and hot, the quality and edibility of them is VERY significant. A microwave really should just be used to thaw or melt things, not cooking.

That's my opinion as both a cook/chef and as a common person.

Favorite Vegetarian Recipe?
Posted: 5/6/2009 5:59:47 PM
I have an entire cookbook on Vegan cooking, so i have LOTS of recipes/suggestions. I do realize that Vegetarian and Vegan are two different things, but it's a start at least.

Spinach Salad
Posted: 5/6/2009 5:48:15 PM
I have a very good, and very simple Spinach Salad recipe:

Spinach, Freshly-grated Parmesan (NOT powder) , 2-3 segments each of Orange, Blood, Orange, Red Grapefruit, and my special Orange Ginger Miso Vinaigrette.

Saskatoons (berries)
Posted: 5/6/2009 5:39:47 PM
Saskatoons are amazing berries when fresh. Don't EVER get these things frozen, EVER!!!
There's a syrup brand i think called Summerland Sweets, they make Saskatoon berry syrup and it's a pretty good product.

Arugula salad
Posted: 5/6/2009 5:35:46 PM
Arugula/Rocket goes great with Spinach. Personally, if i have a salad that has Arugula in it, i have it with some Spinach, Radicchio and baby Red Lettuce, along with a fruit-based vinaigrette, and not just raspberry. Try something like a strawberry or fieldberry or citrus dressing.

Healthiest Oil to use for Cooking?
Posted: 5/6/2009 5:28:19 PM
Grapeseed Oil is a very nice oil and good alternatives, especially for using in salad dressings, though it can be quite expensive. It's one of those kinds of food/product where if it's cheap, its a knock-off or you know something isn't right.
