There is nothing strange about ordering a grave marker for Sunny. You are showing tribute to a loved one. In my opinion, there is nothing unhealty about showing your love. There is something about the feeling you get when you walk in the door & fur is there to greet you. It is an unconditional love, some people will never understand. I had to make a difficult decision & put a beloved dog (Wiley) to sleep a few years back. I choose to have him cremated & bring his ashes home. He will remain in his mommy's heart always. Hold your head high. You don't have to explain or seek approval from anyone for your feelings & the heart felt decision you have made. You are grieving the loss of a life that touched your heart. Being an animal lover, I completely understand. Perhaps your pain could have been eased a bit, if the driver had stopped & acknowledged what had happened. Unfortunately, everyone is not that caring & compassionate.
