It's probably a good idea to be picky. If it's going to be someone that you're serious about, why shortchange yourself. If it's not serious, you should give them a little slack.

I recently met a woman I like a lot, we've hit it off good, and it looks like she has girlfriend potential. There are a few others that I have been casually dating before her. Should I tell her that I want to be exclusively with her right away if I haven't known her for long? Or wait a little bit to see how it develops? Should I mention the other women to her? I want to stop seeing the others and stick with this new one.

I have a friend at work who met her husband at a bar. They've been together for around 7 years, so I guess anything is possible. I read that you're good friends with your ex. I'm good friends with my ex-wife too. We do hang out (just as friends) and have a strange love/hate relationship.

Sounds like you rushed into things. If he's a good guy, learn to deal with it. If he's not, get rid of him. The whole long distance and skype thing reminds me of my estranged wife (we're separated). She's in the midwest, talks to some guy in Germany. She's fallen in love with someone she's never met. I told her that people aren't always as they seem on the internet.

I think your profile is fine. The hanggliding pic is awesome. How many people can say that they've done that. You are attractive and interesting. Yeah maybe you look a little serious, like someone had pointed out. I have a rate my profile thread on as well, so I understand where you're coming from. Make sure you change the wording...patients to patience.

Tallshag, you are absolutely correct on this issue. I've had my hair long for years and cut it very short this year. I had kept it long for my now ex wife (she likes long hair). It began to feel like an obligation and annoyance to me. When she and I broke up, I had it all cut off. I've received numerous compliments from women I work with, and have begun to attract more (and younger) women as I've begun dating again. I agree....I feel like I never want it long again. Long hair definitely holds you back, as it greatly limits the number of women who would be interested.
