Be careful not to fall you might go... @ss over kettle!
I remember skating on the pond after we shovelled the snow off of it and coming home and putting our cold feet on the door of the wood stove.
The flour kept in a tin lined bin built into the kitchen cupboards.
The cold storage was a hole dug in the side of the basement wall where all the winter veggies were kept, by spring you were sick of turnips lol, the basement floor was dirt. There were shelves and shelves of preserves and pickles. The door to the basement was a trap door in the kitchen floor and as kids we were scared to step on it.

Hot hot! I am Curry Flavoured.
I have a spicy personality. If you can take the heat, you'll love me, if not, I'll probably make you cry. I am not for the faint-hearted.

What is your greatest material possession?
Posted:

An old oval cookie tin from the '50's. It has chinese design and is full of the most wonderful memories. It was my mother's button box. I used to sit and play with all the buttons and little trinkets she kept in there when she was darning socks. I have other things of my mother's but this box is the dearest to me.

How does your garden grow?

I only have a deck (in an apt) but I have herbs, garlic, tea roses, glads, petunias etc. All done by container planting...when it is lit at night it is great to sit out there.

Treating someone with kindness
Posted:

Treating people kindly makes me feel good. I have been known to pay for the person behind me in the drive through lane at the coffee shop. Makes me feel good for the rest of the day. Treating people with kindness and thoughtfulness is contagious....they pass it on.

Chris Moss at Scotia did one of my tattoos from a drawing I gave him, he expanded it made it awesome. If you need to book more than one appt, book them all at once or you will be waiting two or three months between times.

Breast Implants - Confidence booster or Unnatural?
Posted:
5/18/2007 10:09:31 AM
Ouch to the belly button!
I have found that going to the gym has been a self confidence booster. I don't think I would have breast implants but if given the chance I might have some other procedures done. It would take a lot of thought first though.

I had my surgery two years ago. There are still foods that bother me. I can't tolerate Tim Horton's coffee (for a canadian that is devastating), anything tomato and corn. I went in for the lap surgery but woke up with the full surgery. I had too many adhesions for them to do the lap.

The size would depend on the amount of detail you wanted to capture. Your best bet would be to take it to an artist, let them help you rework it to suit you. a larger tattoo is better on the back, upper leg, chest etc. I have one with a lot of detail I wanted included and it took up the length of my upper leg. BTW, that cover would make a nice tattoo.

Lactic Acid Build up?
Posted:
5/7/2007 6:51:16 AM
I am a BBW, actually I have lost 22 lbs since Feb and have joined a gym. I have been doing the treadmill, bike, ab machine, circuit training etc. The back of my left calf have become rock hard, red and burning. The dr. says it is lactic acid build up. My question is How did I get this? I didn't overdo it, I workout every second day for 1 hour. Also, should I put ice or heat to the area? Should I continue to work out ?

that is my motto. I am a nice person and if you don't want to take the time to find that out that is your loss. Why lie if you are going to meet that person and possibly be rejected when they find out you aren't what you claim.

Would it help your situation if you got a postal box? I know there are boxes for rent at the postal outlet here. I know you shouldn't have to do this but if you were worried about receiving things it might be an option.

Waxing legs...WHAT THE HELL?!
Posted:
4/23/2007 8:01:59 AM
The bumps go away after a day or two. You get used to it and it isn't so painful after you start doing it regularly. I have waxed for the past ten years and you have to do it a lot less than shave. I suggest having a professional do it until you get used to it.

Things which you don't see in the real world
Posted:
4/23/2007 7:57:22 AM
My favorites are the ones of the girls on their bed in the "Lioness ready to strike and eat you" pose, wearing the(usually leopard print) silky pj's.
More often than not I find these girls to be (by their own description, not picking on them) in the BBW category.
Darn, that is what I am doing wrong....where is that guy in the blond wig that wants to go shopping? I need some leopard print silky jammies.

The most romantic was a Whale Watching Tour on the Atlantic then a picnic on the rocks watching the waves crash. At night we met up with friends of his and have a big bonfire on the beach with guitars, steamed mussels and baked potatos.

what is everyones opin on tattoos?
Posted:

I love my ink, I have the length of my upper leg done, it isn't for everyone to see but it's for me. I also have a small one on the back of my shoulder. I will be starting a new one soon.
Someone said in this thread that it was like spraybombing a natural monument...I think mine is more like the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. A work of art.

Cellular Phones for kids under 16, your thoughts?
Posted:
4/3/2007 6:30:27 AM
I am a single working mother with a 12 year old who has a cell phone. It has not been put through the wash, it has not needed to be serviced. It is a quick and easy way for my child to contact me when she needs me. In one instance she was hurt playing sports during the day and needed to contact me, there were no adults or phones in the field. There is no other family here to help us and I have to work full time. I know where my child is and am able to contact her.

I have met some really nice people at home depot, for me it was in the paint department. I actually was standing there all confused about primers when a really nice man started talking to me, we ended up having coffee and talking about our home repair projects.

what are you ladies looking for??
Posted:
4/1/2007 7:40:12 AM
Maybe the ladies are shy about messaging you too. You don't want messages from someone looking for friends or talk/email. You say in your profile that you are looking for your new best friend but a lady who is looking for a friend can't message you. Sometimes that is how you get to know someone, making the first contact by being friends. I think you need to step out and message someone first. There are a lot of nice people out there.

I just got my first progressives as well, I find my head bobbing all over the place trying to find which part of the glasses to be looking out of. I did get a pair of sunglasses with just the lens for distance for driving. It is getting better everyday. I have heard of people having to go back a couple of times to get them adjusted for proper vision.
