prenups and marriages today

I appologise in advance, if I repeat any thoughts already stated, but I don't have time to read all 4 pages.. but I feel a warning is in order here, if it hasn't been stated yet... well.. two warnings, actually.........
Pre-nups are all fine and dandy, so to speak.. but... they are not as binding as most people think.. just as a "legally binding contract", can be broken in court, or, altered by a judge, etc.. so too, Pre-nups.. if a judge decides, that in his, or her opinion, that something was not fair, either by misrepresentaion of some issue, or, that some deception was at play in the writing, or signing of said Pre-nup, or whatever.. maybe the judge is a he, and just got out of something bad with a she, and feels like he can justify expressing his opinion on his problems, via a legal interpretaion penalizing the other sex.. etc, etc... so.. first warning.. do NOT assume a Pre-nup will protect either gender, as unfailingly as they might wish...
second warning..
IF, a Pre-nup is interpreted, decoded, and decided upon by a judge, to the exact wording, and meanings in it.. one MUST have their own lawyer try their d*mndest to pick it apart, BEFORE they sign it.. as an easy example... lets say one party suggest the agreement have a clause that if one party or the other, should divorce the other for some reason or other, the divorcing party shall pay X amount to the other, (or some other punitive penalty)... a guy, for example, may think.. ok.. I work, she doesnt, but she maintains a nice home for me, and i make plenty, we dont need her to work, but.. she doesnt want to be left on the street if i decide I want out of this.. so.. ok.. i'll sign that.
then.. she goes and gets involved, commits adultery,, and or does other things to try and purposely p*ss him off, to the point any sane person would demand a divorce.. but.. oops.. he signed something saying "for one reason or another"... only now realizing, that a judge would have to interpret that to say "for ANY reason".... and boom!!.. it hits him.. he was just robbed by a gold digger.
The same ideas can work both ways, I mean for either gender, and can be much more subtle than my blatant example.. what I mean is.. words can be interpreted different ways, and sometimes, may ACTUALLY.. LEGALLY.. say something much different than what we thought they meant.............
ok.. thats all... good luck everyone. lol.

I have no idea if I'd make it.. I doubt it.. but let me say... I applaud your sections on children, and drinking and driving... I think it would be nice if EVERY Alberta event, at the very least... adopt those "party rules".

Thoughts on a man picking his date's meal...

I think its not such a dillema.. I mean.. yes.. tell him you'd like to order something different.. and do so.. perhaps after the waitress leaves, or over dinner.. you could bring it up to the effect of... I dont mind trying new things, but there are some things i really don't care for... just let me know next time, and I'll tell you if i'd like to try it.. pleasnat manners go a long ways.. and to assume hes a control freak, based on that, is not fair.. it is quite possible.. he really is old fashioned, and perhaps erroniosly made an assumption that you would enjoy his choice.
That said.. I would never assume such a thing, until i had a better idea of her tastes in things, but even then, would still ask.. unless it was planned, and part of the fun of the evening, was to be surprised.
Myself.. I always wait for "the ladies" at the table to order first, and most places i go.. the waitress looks to them first for orders.. so it seems to me that well trained waitresses, also know the age old rule.. "Ladies First".

Plentyoffish Compatibility Test.

My two cents??? Wellll......
I was just chatting a couple day sago with someone who has tried other sites too.. (I haven't)..
But.. we both agreed, and I'm sure ANY SANE PERSON would too... that it's BS... for two main reasons...
No couple dozen questions, are going to give any kind of RELIABLE results, no matter that a few flukes happen to seem to match what a certain individual might PERCEIVE their personality to be like.
So.. my first suggestion is that the feature come with a stern warning, that the use of the feature is for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY... because, sadly.. without such a disclaimer.. there are many people who fall for that crud.
Secondly... many people in my life, frinds lovers, whatever... at a glance, or based on a personality type, I would never think of as being compatible with me... and yet.... they are my freinds, or were my lovers, etc... I mean.. people are way to complex, and connections happen based on obscure things, that click between people.
To restate my point.. sadly.. so many people actually think e-harmony, or whatever, has the secret to finding their mate.. and I'm sorry if this offends anyone but.. C'mon people... learn to actually think for yourselves.
Did you marry the "perfect guy" your mom picked out for you?? or.. How bout that super match that your friend said was your other half???yes... once in a blue moon.. totally by fluke... those things happen.. but rarely, if ever, because of why the matchmaker thought you were a match.
OK.. I'm finished ranting.. back to the previously scheduled "ENTERTAINMENT" now.

Red Deer Princess Tiara Party - March 31st - 7:00 - The Blarney Stone South

Hmm... not to infringe on the topic, (then again, not exactly highjacking it, since there is no event or thread to discuss.. lol)... but.. sounds like CEASAR has his own special goodies to make certain Red Deer events easier to manage.
(I'd email CEASAR but, he seems to have something against men sending him mails.. lol)
Drop me an email, CEASAR, then I can get through your block... Perhaps your strengths re: party supplies, would make for a good weekend event, or at least an all day and night event.. Toss in a generator or two,(I can supply a 5000 watt generator), and we're pretty much set to do any kind of party/event, anywhere, even the middle of nowhere.
Opens up new posibilities to ponder. (Anyone got any particular ideas for anything? It'd be a shame not to avail ourselves of some very useful items, not to mention a newbie who wants to become another skilled host for our area, is always a welcome addition).
(A brief glance at CEASAR's profile, tells me the local ladies here are gonna be drooling over the fresh meat at the Tiara party.. lolol)
I now return you to the previously scheduled Tiara party topic....

LOL... Thanks for the info on wonder woman's tiara, ~Belle~
UMMmm.. no.. I don't have anything like that.. but.. it seems to me to be rather easy to fashion one... How much ya willing to pay for a handcrafted, custom made, genuine reproduction?
(thinking a peice of gold colored poster board, cut to shape, looped and glued to size.. a red felt pen to color on the star... and for the deluxe treatment, a few sparkles glued to the surface for a more glittery look)
OOPS.. I just gave away the secret to a hancrafted, custom made, wonder woman replica tiara. I guess I wont be getting an order from ya now! lol.
For those of you whom requested info on my other tiaras/sparkly hair accessories... I am putting together an email with pics/descriptions/prices, but of course, POF can't handle the pics, so, if you wouldn't mind dropping me a note with an email address that can handle embedded pics, it would be appreciated, and I will send the mail as soon as I have it finished.
Your's Humbly,

I'm a guy and, back when wonderwoman was the "thing" to watch on tv.. I never noticed a tiara......... I was lokking at other "prominent" features... lmao!!!
(hey!!! I was a young teen!!! and a guy.. what do you expect???? well.. then again.. if it was a new remake, and done acording to the old style... I'd most likely still say.. "Tiara?? She was wearing a tiara? Oh.. I somehow didn't notice it!")
(yeah.. sorry.. I'm a guy.. and those other "prominences", blind me to anything else)

TIARAS R US.. lol. (i cant figure out how to make a backwards "R", but i'd probably get sued for copyright infringement if i did)
ok.. not here to hype my biz.. but.. as a service to the fair princesses.. i offer my services.. i have a decent selection of rather nice tiaras, (and other, more practical/useful hair accesories, that would work just fine in place of a tiara).. and yes.. they cost more than plastic ones.. lol.. but are all szwarovski crystal, etc... email me if youd like more info.
(i can also share a tip or two on how to adorn yourself to look like a princess, without having to even have an actual tiara).
david g.
(i sure hope i dont lose my account/profile, for helping fellow poffers.. lol)
SEE MODS??? I offered to give advice on free ways besides buying my product, so i really am not using this to make sales!!! lol.
OH... include the word "tiara" in the subject line, so i get to your mail promptly.

is making love really just sex
Posted:
3/9/2007 11:27:59 AM
Sex is just one of MANY ways to make love. Making love is what you do with each other's minds, and hearts.
And yes, you can "make love", to someone, with both of you knowing you are never going to be a "couple".
The real issue, for me.. do I actually care about her, and does she care about me?
If the answer is yes, then we can share a special, meaningful intimacy, if the answer is no, then it's "just sex", and is about as satisfying as a lukewarm shower, that turns cold as the hot water runs out.

no other dating sites before this one, but met plenty of people off AOL...
pretty much got bored with AOL though.. and my puter turned into a biz machine only.
was surfing channels one night, and flashed by umm.. lemme think..... OH... bachelor.. dunno what one.. bachelor in paris, maybe?
anyways... stopped for a moment cause some woman was having her "private time" with the camera, and I was thinking.. "d*mn.. if the guy ends up picking her, is he ever gonna be sorry".. lol.. she finished talking, and it went to commercial.. and there it was.. a POF ad on tv.
(so far, no one I have chatted with or talked to has ever seen a POF ad, besides me)
anyway, being that that particular show, is really for the ladies, the ad was aimed at them. it implied there were about 17,000,000,000,000,638 men, just waiting for a woman.. lol.
I promptly forgot about it.
it was about 3 weeks later, bored one night, and I remembered the address. just typed it in for fun, as, like I said, never been on any other dating site, and had no desire to do so.. it was just as a time killer cause I was bored.
glad I did it... met a few nice people, and the red deer parties ROCK!!!!!

Any interest in a POKER PARTY??? (Red Deer)
Posted:

No less personal than any other event, held in a bar. lol
Sometimes we have our own areas in a bar, in this case, its our own table(s).
(LC might be slightly irked at me for not making it to her preparty the time I said I would. lol?)
Yes.. I agree a home is more intimate, and adaptable to the moods of the attendees... but.. that requires more planning and more commitment, at least from the host. My point being, I was just trying to make things easy for whatever we did, as many times, or as often as we'd like to do it, without it always having to be hosted by someone.
Anyway... seems to be at least a couple interested parties... c'mon people!! Chime in on your preferences... and we can set something up, either casino, or home.. but.. if you don't all say something.. then nothing can happen. (I guess that's obvious, but I like stating the obvious. lol)

ITS NOT VERY EASY MEETING A GUY WHO IS GENUINE AND PURE OF MIND AND SPIRIT AS HE
As a male hetro.. all I can say is.. Gee.. I like the appeal of a sweet, young, innocent child too.. everyone finds innocence intriguing.. but HEY!!!.. we don't all go out and seduce teens, or emotionally immature people.. just so we can feel like a protective daddy, who has a dependant personality worshipping us.
edit:.. lol.. by "child", i meant innocent young person.. not "child". lol.

what do woman consider average weight?
Posted:
3/4/2007 12:43:02 PM
is this thread about POF's "body type" category???
If so... then it has NOTHING to do with weight!
it is about a relative comparison,(ratio), of height to weight, or, you could say, it is about SHAPE, of the body.
No cheating now... (dont look at my profile to see my height)...
I weigh 185 pounds...
If i was 6 feet tall.. id be "slim".
if I was 5 feet tall, id be "large".
if i was 5'6", id be "average"...
but, you all seem to think weight alone is the factor so.. tell me.. am I "slim"... "average"... "extra pounds".. what??????
So.. assume a girl is 225 pounds.. is she "a few extra pounds"? or a "bbw"?... depends on her height!!!
Anopther girl weighs 125 pounds... she's 5 foot. (average?)... oh.. wait.. shes 6'1"... she's "twiggy"! lol.. skinny as a bone on the desert.
If people are being honest in their "body type" description.. what it really means is.. without asking weight, if you look at height, and body type, you have an overall image of the person.
I myself, think it should simply say "weight".. but.. too many girls still have a hangup about answering that Q, even though, as someone said.. were gonna see for ourselves sooner or later.
And remember.. if you are a few pounds extra, or a bbw even... the guy who might have really liked you, cause he was attracted to your body type.. will pass you by because YOU, already lied, and told him you are not his ideal woman(same appies for men.. i see plenty of profiles of women's, who say they WANT a larger man)
The thing is.. if you can't be honest with yourself, and in your profile.. you are setting yourself up as either a liar, or an insecure person who "bends" the truth.. and, when you meet that guy, or gal, who you seemed to have hit it off so well with.... even if your weight would not have been a problem for them.. now it is, becasue you have portrayed yourself as something you aren't, and the image the person had in their head of you, is shattered the moment they see you, and you are now, not who they thought you were.(in other words.. you set yourself up as a liar, about something you cant pull off in the end so.. not only are you a liar, but must be a compulsive liar beacause of the type of lie you told).
Lying is SOOOO easy online.. but... if you wish to hold out any hope of "finding the one".. you must be honest from the start.. if anything... say youre heavier/bigger than you are, and at least then the other person wont think you were lying to make yourself look better, but will instead be pleasantly surprised, that he or she, sees you as even more beautiful than they imagined.
for myself, age, weight, etc.. are irrelevant.. but.. a lie.. is paramount!!!!!
(lol.. years ago... the first woman I ever met from online, told me she was 36, and at the time, i was 38... turned out when we met.. she was 26! Nice girl... and I might have even liked her despite the age.. but the lie ended it at first glance. LMAO.. the next day, I IM'd her, and told her i REALLY wanted to meet again... knowing we hadnt exactl;y hit it off.. she had the balls to say.. sorry.. i dont think it can work.. i said.. really?? why not??? she said... you're too old for me!!.. at which point i said.. if you dont want an older man, why lie and lure one to meet you.. knowing its not what you want?... she was silent.. i said... liars always get what they deserve, which in this case, was nothing, form all your time wasted developing something that was false from the start!.. ok.. done ranting.. lol)

Any interest in a POKER PARTY??? (Red Deer)
Posted:
3/3/2007 8:29:53 PM
I have nothing against home parties. I was just suggesting a casino to avoid any hassles for people, or players having to deal and play at once, food, etc.... not to mention, I myself just do not have any large enough tables for decent sized games.
(As per POF rules, we could not plan something here, where we would be paying any monies to a POF member, as a dealer, for example).
As to the house and charity percentages, they are exactly the same as if one went to play in any tournies under regular circumstances, with the only real difference being, that we know for sure, we as a POF group, will be winning the money. Like The Gr8 C2r said... "keep it in the family". lol.
As far as the quality of the dealers, I play at this particular casino every now and then, and have never had any issues with any of the dealers.
Also, we never need to worry about issues like, perhaps, the host having something come up, and then no where planned to play.
It also means there is very little "planning" needed, once we decide what the frequency will be. In other words, it would take on a life of it's own, and not depend on an "organizer", except for the small effort of someone calling and booking the table(s), whenever we wanted to do it again.
All that said.. if someone has the room, the tables, and the bravery to invite a bunch of us in, I'm sure we could manage to deal our own games, as long as people are patient enough to let the dealer have his chance to play too... or maybe we force the first one out, to deal the rest of the game. lol.
Feel free to toss ideas out here, and lets work something up. At the moment though, it appears there may not be enough interest.(I kinda thought there would be more poker players here abouts).

Landlord/tenant problem...

In the information age, knowledge is POWER.
Proper research, as it seems you did, and calm, clear presentation of the facts, can work wonders.
I have dealt with rental issues, shady dog breeders, and, my divorce was filed in Washington state (long sory), but I was able to learn all I needed to know on the internet about Washington state divorce laws(unlike Canada, each state has it's own laws). I was also rather lucky in finding a lawyer, whom for $100, told me everything else I needed to know as far as whom to talk to PERSONALLY, in the courthouse, in order to set the schedule of events timed exactly as I wanted. In the end, I didn't even go down for the "trial", I simply appeared by phone, and got everything my way. (I had even talked to the judge personally, before the trial date).
oops... I'm rambling.. but my point is.. the laws are there, and you can use them... patience and research is the key.
Glad to hear you basically got it under your control.

Children for sale.... CHEAP!

I haven't had time to read the whole thread but... forget about my kids.. me, as a kid.. we owned a motor inn in Kamloops in my teen years... parents out.. I'm running the biz(at 16 years old), having a party.... details don't really matter, but... it was actually me, (I couldn't figure out a way to blame it on a friend), who ran straight through the plate GLASS doors.. yes.. THROUGH the glass..., while being chased by a girl who wanted to dump her beer on my head!(I will not say what I did to her, to make her feel this urge).
'nuff said, i think.

Any interest in a POKER PARTY??? (Red Deer)
I mean like a proper "private" table or 2 or 3, etc... at a casino... so all food and beverages are taken care of by the individual consumers, plus.. its dealt by a REAL dealer, so no "issues" arise.
We can get the "private" setup, as long as the minimum "buy in", is 22 dollars... but.. myself, I like freeze out tourneys, so there would be no "re-buys"... meaning.. we'd want to agree beforehand, what the buy in is.
For example $50 + $5 = $55, (the $5, is the rules for charity), then of the remaining $50, the house, (casino), takes 10% ($5).. so... assuming 20 people, at $45... we'd have a pot of $900... and we have total control as to how we award what amounts, to what finishing positions.
Yes.. I know we could do "Poker Nights", at peoples homes, but this takes away any and all work, or people bringing food/liquor, etc. Plus, this way, no one ever has to "play host", since we'd be in a full service casino.
People out early, would still be able to join "cash" games, or play other casino games, untill, if we wanted to, we could start another round.
Minimum amount of buy in for the casino hosted event is $20 = $2... can be any amount though $30 + $3, $50 + $5, $100 + $10, etc), and, we'd want to find the right balance between affordable, while still trying to keep at least a fun amount in the prize pot.
So.. ideas??? suggestions??? Interest level???

how about a law, that has as its consequences.. any child under 10 left in a car without and adult, will cause the car to be impounded, and the owner to lose their license for 10 years.
yes.. seems pointless, I know.. but... sadly enough.... losing a license would be a better deterrent in todays society, than jail.

The issue isnt really cheap vs. expensive.. its battery TYPE.
use alkalines, and yes.. the "store brands" are good but... MAKE SURE you check the "best before" dates on them. old batteries, of all types.. are already predrained.
BUT.. yes... fire extinguishers!! i have 1 in each bedroom, one in the hall, one in the kitchen, one in my entertainment center in the living room.. one at the bottom of my basement stairs, and two in the basement.
I used to, and still would, if someone was lacking, buy fire extinguishers as gifts. usually as christmas presents. its one of those gifts you pray your friends or loved ones never needs... but it can be the most important gift in a lifetime.. if it ever is needed.
watch canadian tire fliers, or whatever.. they sometimes have em at half price... buy a swack of smaller ones, and spread em all over, rather than just one or two larger, expensive ones.. then no matter where you are.. you have one, and can use it to clear your way to the next one.
(oh.. and learn HOW to use one... or its useless... aim at the BASE of the flames, and sweep side to side, moving forward, to clear your path. you dont want to waste it up, putting out fire thats 10 feet away from where you need to go... focus on making a path you can get through. and unless it is a VERY SMALL, localized fire.. do not risk your life trying to extinguish it.... GET OUT!)

I have guns at home. Not handguns, but, I do keep at the ready, with proper legality re: storage, my ruger 22.
As was pointed out, handguns are very hard to shoot accurately.. even with training... whereas a rifle, is much easier. (also much easier to aquire legally, than a handgun.)
the reason I prefer the ruger is, it is a very short barrel. Easier to maneuver.. and gives me a 10 shot, semi auto setup.
As far as deterrent.. I would tend to think, also, that a rifle aimed at your head, is even more intimidating than a handgun.

I was born in alberta.. but never suffered migraines until a few years after I moved to bc... and a few years after moving back to alberta.. they stopped.. so my theory is... if youre meant to be an albertan... alberta cures you.. if you are somehow not worthy.. alberta tries to force you out by means of physical torture.. lol.
Actually.. I think mine were more stress related... they stopped as soon as I got my first divorce.. LMAO!!!
Ive never trid any of the newer migraine meds, as i havent had one for years now.. but someone mentioned their mom taking fiorinal.. oooo yeah!!! that's a good one but... not if you have an addictive personality.. lol.
But it was always the last resort, after caffergot, and ergomar failed... then it was simply time to drug myself into oblivion until it passed.
As far as what effects Chinooks induce in me these days.. well.. they are like a lil taste of spring.. which is mating season.. so.. Chinooks make me horny.. LOL.
(or maybe its my midlife crisis that causes that)lmao!

"LADDERS R US".. has made a delivery.. they are just inside the kitchen door, unless someone moves 'em.. so tell 'em you want to inspect the kitchen.. if they try to claim there's no ladders there.. lol.
(after your done with 'em... make them store them for ya, preferably the same place, as I don't want to have to put 'em right back in my car, til I leave, cause I'd have to leave my trunk open... Cadis are big.. but.. the taller one.. is like an inch too big to get past a certain lip in the trunk)
(if I had a dime for every time i was told "stop!! thats an inch too big!".. I'd still be penniless.. lol)
Hope to be there while its still just coconut girls around. and remember LADIES... SEXIEST TOES, and most SEDUCTIVE FOOT.. each win a sparkly prize!
(and to be fair.. whoever wins one, can't be in the second contest.. lol)
(also... "the love boutique" is right next door... you early ladies, should see if you can explain who we all are, and get them to donate a door prize!)

I'll be there to drop off a pair of ladders between 5 and 6... will leave them with staff there, if no one is there yet.
Can't stay to help just then, but will get back as soon as possible.
(I mean.. seems its all girls decorating.. it might be my only chance to have a lovely bunch of coconuts all to myself!!! oops.. damned inner voice again!!!!!.. I mean.. to be alone with a few lovely ladies!)

You still have time to paint 'em... but.. who knows.. maybe naked toes will get more votes?? I dunno.. depends on how many men have foot fetishes, and what their perversion runs to.. after all.. the really twisted ones are bound to cheer the loudest, thereby swinging the vote.. lol.

OK.. my prize is gonna be for "The PRETTIEST Toes", as judged by the males in the crowd!
(That doesnt mean men can't put themselves up for judging, bit they most likely woudn't win, and I'm not sure they'd really love the prize all that much.. lol)
So Girls??? don't forget to polish the toes.. unless.. you think totally naked toes might win

I have a few ladders.. what do you need, and when?
(sending me a mail would be good, cause then i know theres a response, rather than depending on me looking here)

Well... since no one else seems to be stepping up to the plate.. I guess I have to live up to the "HERO" part of my name.. lol.
Fire Girl??? after looking at your profile.. I am not exactly sure where you are, or to be more specific.. where you need help... so... if you need the help in Red Deer... then... Not only am I good at moving stuff, as long as there is at least one other helper, and some beer to drink... but... I am, after all, a Hero.
Email me with details.. and get the beer cold! lol.

Opinions Please

Another 2 cents (gee... if people would really pay 2 cents to voice opinions... i just might have me an idea for a new biz here! lol)
If this was just for a week, or something.. I'd say OK... but... well.. I wont repeat it all, but "no good deed goes unpunished", is a much more common outcome than most good people would like to believe. I have "babysat" for up to 2 weeks at a time before... but they were relatives, and even then.. I was VERY careful about the situation.
Unfortunately, we don't know what the definition of "troubled" is, in this case... but some "troubled" teens, learn VERY WELL, how to manipulate situations... and USE them to their advantage, if and when the opportunity presents itself. And the "friends" staying over.. well... the ice he is on is SOOOO thin... he better have rescue personnel standing by.
But for a moment... lets just assume that NO ONE has ANY bad intentions.....
All it would take is the girl, or a friend... sleeping... dreaming of that cute guy at school... perhaps her dream becomes a bit erotic... and all is fine.... BUT... dreams can twist... and all of a sudden her "home situation", struggles for attention in the dream... and the next thing she knows... the "good guy's face", has replaced the cute kid's face... and come the light of day.... she maybe isnt so sure it was a dream, but perhaps a half awake memory, of something inapropriate... and at her age, she does know of stories like this.. so it could easily become something real to her... or.. as the term states.. a false memory.
Your friend sounds like a great guy, and I know I'd offer to do the same... but there would have to be much shorter time limits, and much more control of the situation, and more people around often, to see things, and yes.. social services etc, should be notified.. he needs to cover all his bases, and even then... the ice is so precariously thin... well.. its a disaster.. a life ruining disaster... just waiting to happen.
So.. now he's stuck in the current situation. He needs to stop.. lay down.. and pray he can crawl to safer territory... meaning.. he needs to talk to this mom.. and they have to find some other arrangement for the girl.. PERIOD!

my 2 cents... cheap, so not worth a lot.. lol..
if I was to take the letter as real expression of thoughts and feelings.. I'd have to conclude that the writer is emotionally immature... but.. some credit for him realizing he is not ready for a relationship. I do not think hed be any better off starting one the "real" way at this point either.
so... chalk it up to a chance, that didnt work out... and be happy that he was man enough to bow out of your life.
