Has the Economy affected you?

yes it has, Im a carpenter, handy man guy and work for a very small construction outfit, I got divorced last sept,[ third divorce] and could no longer afford to rent my house that I lived in for ten years.I have joint custody of my teenage daughter and I had to move in with my second ex and my daughter,my ex was having money problems as well so Im sharing all the expense,s of living in a townhouse with them, rather then paying child support, at least I have a place to sleep[have my own bedroom].Because I live from pay check to pay check and dont always get paid till some projects are finished, dating is out of the question, plus the fact im living with an ex makes dating awkward, Ive had to explain the situation and some of the gals Ive tried to date dont like my living arrangement but at least im around my daughter more often.

What was she saying between the lines?

Dang bro, I just went thru the same hoop, we talk exchange pics etc, thinks Im hot, we meet up after talking for two months, and spend the night together[no sex] but in the morning she said she got that itch and sort of wanted us to be together on weekends, this is a long distance deal any how she wasnt into holding my hand or hugging or kissing [red flag] and since I work as a carpenter work is slow and im not able to see her every weekend. Any how she calls me and says she has no romantic feelings towards me,but still wants to be friends, man talk about getting kicked in the balls. She would have been my second girlfriend after my divorce last sept[my ex remarried 30 days after our divorce]. Ive been looking for advice my self in the forums. Ive been married three times, and the deal is when your alone you miss the intimacy of marrige, like sleeping together, sex and all that, and when you start dating again you expect all the good stuff to happen like it was when you were married. Oh yeah getting messeges at 4 in the morning is another red flag, she still has issues and got cold feet, plus she claims to have been used[another red flag].I almost dated a gal from another site [long story] and she came over to my house and I noticed bruise,s and scratchs on her arms and legs, turned out she had a live -in boyfriend who abused her, thats another red flag for real, and if you stick your nose in those kinds of deals you end up losing in the end. Yeah getting dumped sucks, and first dates are just that, first dates, you put your cards on the table and hope for the best, but it doesnt always work that way. Every time I met somebody for a date I think yeah she,s gonna be my soul-mate etc and I put too much into it only to be disapointed in the end. LIke pictures in profiles that are ten years old.

Yeah I have this habit of putting all the eggs in the basket. Ive been married and divorced three times, my third ex remarried 30 days after our divorce and we had a two year separation, when she moved out. I started dating again but my gal left me to take care of her mom in Oklahoma and I havent been with her for over a year now, yeah I kept the candle in the window that long, and the country gal was my second date in a year, I think the main reason she lost interest in me was the fact we lived to far apart, and it took to long to meet up after talking for two months, plus I move too fast and expect to much when I do met somebody who might want to date me.

I met this gal on POF, and we would send e-mails and talk on the phone and every thing was looking good.Im a carpenter and because the economy is slow money is tight, plus im a single parent. The day finally came for us to meet up and we were planning on going camping, well the camp grounds were filled up so we decided to hang out at her place. Her kids were visiting and the grandchildren were running around and everybody was having a good time.We decided to set up the tent and spend the night together[no sex] looking at the stars etc.The next day she told me she was having desires, so we agreed to continue to see each other[this was our first date],problem is that she lives almost three hours from me, and the guy I work for mess.s up my weekends.I told my new friend that I wanted to come out and visit on weekends and she even had a honey do list for me as she has a small farm. I couldnt come out to visit for two weekends in a row.So she calls me one night and says she is not interested in being romantic with me any more, so of course I asked her if she found another guy, and she said she was looking around.[basically the fire went out] and I didnt see the warning signs, we were so happy to meet up with each other, but she didnt like being kissed or holding hands even though we spent the night together sleeping in each others arms. Now she just wants to be friends, and I dont want to be her weekend husband and help her out at the farm if she is going to be seeing some other guy.

Asking your partner about STDS...

My first POF date asked me if I had been tested. I drove two hours down to her town, met her for lunch, then we went to her place to watch a nascar race. Any how I told her I didnt think I needed to be tested as Ive always been monogamous, and my girl friend left me a year ago, and that was the last time I had sex, I havent heard a word from that date since. Now that I think about it , asking me to be tested is a way to protect both of us, and I know that type of question isnt just related to sex, as you can transmit hepatitus_C by a friendly kiss.

One week after a meeting, he wants to come to my house

Several years ago before my third marrige, I meet a gal on yahoo, talked on the phone and she invited me over to see her and she lived two hours away, I ended up spending the nite and slept in the guest room. We had a platonic friendship that lasted two years, and I would go out almost every weekend to help her out on her small farm, and sleep in the guest room. This guy isnt safe[my opinion] plus my deal was an exception, not the norm.

How do you stop missing your ex because it's so hard...

All I have to do is remember how badly my third ex treated my daughter,me ,my friends,my daughters mom, and the fact that my third ex remarried 30 days after our divorce. The only thing I would miss is watching her drive off a cliff with her "new hubby".

Finding your ex on POF
Posted:

I wouldnt worry too much, my third ex was a regular in chatrooms, and the thing that stabbed me in the back was when somebody posted a pic of my wife kissing another man, before we separated, and she had told me she was visiting friends at the lake but flew out of town to meet this guy, anyhow 30 days after our divorce she married the guy, and I lost my house and of all things , I ended up living with my teenage daughter whom I have joint custody of and my second ex. We had divorced ten years ago but have always remained friends, and we are both on POF, in fact POF tried to hook us up which we both thought was funny. My post my not seem related to your situation, but we are both looking around and Ive only been on POF for a month and went out on a date and Ive also met a gal that really clicks but she lives three hours away. Any how when you fall off the horse you have to get back on and keep going, good luck dude.

Why Are Over 45 Men In Love With Motorcycles?
Posted:

Because horses dont do very well in the garage. Its because of the freedom you get from riding, feeling the wind on your face, the roar of the motor between our legs, and you are in total control [or supposed to be]plus there is the risk factor that goes with riding a bike. When I was a teen-ager I was forbidden to ride a motorcycle, or drag race cars,or race around in circles. And I suspect alot of guys when they get older want to try all the things they werent allowed to do when they were younger.

scared a bit to date again........
Posted:

I went through the same thing, my ex was popping pills for depression , migraines and would attack me to the point I was afraid to come home from work. That fear of rejection can really mess with a guys head, when you start looking around and dating again, or in my case attempting to date again. After my third divorce I lost my house and now rent the spare bedroom at the townhouse my second ex and daughter live[no problem with that arrangement] as I have always had joint custody of our daughter. I have been rejected because of that and my political views are very left of center , plus I work as a carpenter and my income varies due to the economy. Im 56 and when a gal shows interest in me it really boosts my ego, and then the second date never happens with no explaination, and then I feel like crap again, but im getting used to it, and realize that maybe that gal was just checking what was on the other side of the fence.

why only date good looking prima donna's?
Posted:

Why do some gals use old pics? I was married to a total prima-donna and she was a total pain in the#$%" Always had to spend two hours doing make-up and trying on 30 pairs of skin tight jeans etc just to go country line dancing.Guys always look at the cover of the book before reading it. As for myself I have learned the hard way and yeah I have had good platonic relationships with gals that were bigger then me, and sometimes their personality out shines their appearence. Any how my prima -donna wife left me to marry a guy with a bigger johnson.
