I have always been one of those girls with an old spirit. My maturity at times has astounded my parents and left my professors and friends baffled. I dislike telling people my age because I always get that opened mouth gaping look and usually the one asking thinks I have lied to them. I am 19 years old and will admit to being attracted to older men and in some cases much older men. Most guys my age or even under 25 do not appeal to me because I am WAY past any crazy, drink beer, party all night stage....in fact I was never in that stage. So yes, older more secure and settled men catch my eye and make my heart pound away. I had a 52 year old sit by me at the State Fair on Halloween while I was waiting on some people to get off of a ride. He looked, to me, to be in his late 40's, I knew he was hitting on me and instead of being grossed out, I was actually very flattered and held his gaze in conversation. Not only flattered, I could feel my blood boil with him sitting there. Many of my friends around my age have also admitted to being hot and bothered by older men. BTW Sean Connery, Sam Elliot and others are my movie star crushes....

okay I hope the poster is still watching this thread. Being a teenager is hard. Most of the time girls are either boy crazy or they aren't. Those who are are just as likely to feel some attraction to other girls as those who are openly not attracted or "into" guys. Have I lost you? My point is that being a teenager means exploring sexuality in whatever form be it, making out with different people or full on sexual experiences. Every teenage girl is searching to feel loved, safe, and comfortable. Your daughter may not be attracted to other girls. From personal experience I am a very curious person when it comes to sexuality. I was looking up websites and such to fulfill curiosity from a safe and un-embarassing perspective. Maybe you could casually mention something on TV about girls kissing girls...the key thing here is to be sensitive but not nervous. Be laid back and act very casual. Okay, I have one true reaction to this.......yuck. Besides having mild allerigies to tobacco smoke I could not handle the badbreath syndrome of smokers. This man is simply uninformed. I am only 19 and knew several years ago how all of this worked out which was well before I was sexually involved at all.
