The Boro are down javascript:smilie('')
I knew it was coming really, but you have to believe don't you.
Now my big worry is that we're just going to disappear down the leagues. The club has massive debt's and apart from Downing maybe I can't see us getting in much revenue from the bunch of no hopers we have at the moment. Our one shining light is the academy let's hope those boy's can handle the championship, but I fear the worst.

If the christian thing is a big deal to you and it sounds like it is, there are christian dating sites on line. Maybe you should try there rather than pof.

Can people actually review my profile.
Posted: 5/24/2009 6:24:07 AM
Your profile is very negative, it almost says don't bother contacting me I'm not worth it. Sell your self girl, it's tough out there.

I think we may have got to him. He's hidden his profile. I guess the gut didn't want any constructive criticism after all. Mind you after seeing his profile I think he was sure everyone was going to tell him "don't worry, you don't need to change a thing, you're a real catch"

Truth hurts.

do we deserve our bad rep
Posted: 5/24/2009 5:09:36 AM

We are even too lazy nowadays to respect our own language (was it really too difficult to complete the word rep utation?)

Nope, wasn't dif at all. Was a personal choice cus we live in a free society lol.

Personally, I think we don't. C'mon people, is it really as bad out there as they say it is in the media.

Maybe I'm lucky because I live in a town where we don't have a binge drinking problem at the weekends and gangs of hoodies wandering the streets frightening old people. Surely I don't live in the last bastion of civilized behavior.

Look out your window and ask your self, is it really that bad out there or do I just think it is because the papers and the tv keep telling me so. I'm not saying that these problems don't exist because they obviously do but the way the media goes on about it we all act like there's not a single safe street corner left in the country and we should all keep our selves locked in our houses after dark.

Recommended course of approach?
Posted: 5/24/2009 4:36:25 AM

Well, the question I'm posing here is thus: Should I inquire about those things in the first two messages, or ignore them for now and bring them up casually much later? I really like this profile and want to approach this from the right direction and with the proper velocity.

That's what I like to see, a good positive mental attitude. You've already assumed that she's going to reply in the first place.
Why not worry about getting your foot in the door first and if you do, then gauge your questions on how the conversation if flowing.
If she's talking about the price of fish, you're not going to reply with a question asking about the merits of the imperial measuring system over the metric are you.

Well i was just talking to a girl and it seemed it was going well but i asked if we can talk on msn its faster and you can say more, anyways she replies that shes not interested because i remind her of an old boyfriend.

Question and answer all wrapped up in one neat little bundle.

Binge drinking, hoodies, dirty beaches, corrupt MP's. Even the lonely planet is slagging us off.

Our countries reputation just seems to get worse and worse.

So c'mon Britain, are we really as bad as the rest of Europe think we are?

So what do you think?
Posted: 5/23/2009 5:29:24 PM

So I've had a reasonable number of views but not many replies. So is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Ok, so in light of what I'm going to write now I thought I would point out my last post was in relation to this thread. as in I was hoping to get a bit more feedback from people on my profile.

Now I know I haven't been on here very long and I've been taking a good look around the forums, so I get all the stuff about not getting responses and giving it time and all that.

But one thing I have noticed is that the only people who seem to have looked at my profile are the ones where I've looked at theres first. Is my picture so bad that people will will only check me out when they've seen I've been checking them out.

Just some advice please.
Posted: 5/23/2009 6:49:43 AM
Ok. I'm no expert but here it goes.
The main picture is fine as far as I can see, but you need to have so variety with the others. you have three pictures which are basically the same. Pick the one you think is the best out of the three and dump the other two. Get some more pictures which don't just have you sat on the sofa staring at the camera.

As for the profile, it needs some work. you need to acutely talk about your self not just list what your interests are. Thats what the interest box is for.

ceroc dancing? What the hell is ceroc dancing. I'm guessing that it's an amusing dance you do which you and I hope your mates find funny. If this is the case then make it sound amusing, if you can't do this then I would say dump it cus it just sounds weird at the moment. Loose the computer games from your interests. Although I personally think there's nothing wrong with playing computer games, it just shouts nerd and doesn't make a good impression.

Finally the hospital radio thing. I think you should expand on that lots more. Is it voluntary? if it is say so, it's a noble thing to be doing and can only be endearing . talk about why you do it and what you get out of it on a personal level it can only help.

End of the day mate you're trying to sell your self on here and your profile is your selling pitch. Don't be half assed about it make it the best you can. after that it's in the hand of the gods

Good luck.

Do you REALLY think any is going to be impressed by that headline. I don't think so. C'mon man you're not a child any more.

As for your main picture, you know the one you're not really in. That just says to me, ohh look at the big house I've got and sadly your profile just backs that up. It smacks of arrogance if you ask me. I make lots of money and have a nice house so c'mon ladies I must be great. Shallow, shallow, shallow.

Making first contact
Posted: 5/22/2009 5:18:42 PM
Best advice I can give and to be honest I'm pretty new here myself is to have a good look around the forums. There's loads of advice out there and you'll get a good feel for how the site works and the do's and don'ts. Secondly your going to need a thick skin because a lot of the time you will get no response, it's nothing personal it's just there not interested.

As for u ceroc 1 you need to be on the profile review thread. put up your own post. If your profile is really bad people will tell you but most of it will be constructive. oh by the way if you read the rules your not supposed to muscle in on other peoples threads, they don't like that. Just thought I would let you know.

Do you have children? Prefer Not To Say
Posted: 5/22/2009 2:29:08 PM

I've never understood the answer N/A to the question "Do you have a car"

Surely you either do or you don't.

I don't have a car but I do have a Transit van (I'm a builder). So if I answer yes then I'm lying Because I don't have a car. If I say no then I'm implying that I have no transport which isn't true either.

So what answer do I put in?

Bald v shaven heads - and is bald beautiful?
Posted: 5/22/2009 1:02:20 PM
I first shaved my head about 12 years ago when I was traveling as it was a cheap and easy alternative and I've never looked back. Back then I still had a full head of hair, not the case these days, its not all gone but there's definitely less up there than there use to be. I guess I'm lucky in the fact that a shaved head does suit me and all the people who have known me with and without hair say I look better without. I personally will never grow my hair back, and as for the ladies thing it has never seemed to be a problem. There will always be some who like a bald head on a guy just like there's others who like lots of hair.

Is dancing strictly for the birds?
Posted: 5/22/2009 12:43:34 PM
Dancing is definitely not just for birds.

I love dancing and before you ask I'm as straight as an arrow. Mind you, I'll dance in my living room if there's a good tune on the stereo but that's me as I said I love to dance. Now I'm no John Travolta but I've got moves and when I go clubbing I'll spend most of my time on the dance floor.

Let me put this to all you guys stood on the side in the "honor guard". While you're all stood on the side surrounded by men supping your pints watching from a distance, I'm in the middle of the dance floor surrounded by happy women shaking their bootie. I know where I'd rather be.

By the way there was a poll on Radio One today to see who people wanted to go down.

Newcastle won with 78% of the vote.

I'm a Boro fan so know exactly how you feel.

Everybody says we need a miracle to stay up but I'm not so sure. Let me put it like this.

1st We need Villa to beat Newcastle (cmon Villa). Not to hard to believe. I don't think anyone would think that impossible.

2nd Boro beat West Ham 2-0. Now I know that the way we've been playing this season, thats a lot to ask. But I shall remind you all we did this in the cup this year and yes it was at Upton Park. It's a stretch but not impossible after all West Ham have nothing to play for now they can't qualify for Europe.

3rd United beat Hull by three goals. Yes I know, your all thinking Man u are going to play a weakened side, but lets face it , a third string United could probably put three past Hull. And that's not to be derogatory to Hull, it's merely pointing out the strength and depth of United.

If things panned out that way we would stay up and Hull and Newcastle would go down.
A stretch, yes. A lot of luck needed, definitely. But would I call that a miracle? No I would not.

Ok so I've got rid of the photo with the girl in as all your advice and used another one which I know is a little dark but my problem is that the camera normally comes out when I've been drinking lol so not always the most flattering pictures if you know what I mean.

Neither, just a friend on mine. If I had a girlfriend or wife which I haven't I certainly wouldn't have a picture of the on here. But if that was your first reaction do you think I should get rid of that picture? The reason I used that picture was because I thought it was a good shot of me.

what is everyones opin on tattoos?
Posted: 5/21/2009 5:03:41 PM
Having a tattoo is a personal choice of the individual. People who get tattoos and yes I do have one, do it for there own personal gratification. and that's whether it's on full display all the time or if it's on a part of there body where you'll only see it if they decide to show you. People I know in my generation and we're all in our mid 30's have no problems with them and a lot people I know have tattoos. This is not to say we all constantly hang around the tattoo parlor we are just average people. Getting a tattoo is no different than getting your ears pierced, having a boob job or even growing a mustache, it's a personal choice which at the end of the day as with all those things some people will approve and some wont. Personally I think a lot depends on the tattoo and it's position. Some look great, others make you think why did they do that to them selves but I certainly don't think it makes women look cheep. End of the day everyone's allowed their opinion.

Hello to all you lovely people out there :0)
I'm new to this site, in fact I'm new to the whole online dating thing all together so I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to ask you lot what you think of my profile.

Simple as that really. I look forward to your responses :0)
