Men, what makes you cry?

^ Walts, the true wusses are those who hide behind the armour, and I know you're not one of them.

Big boys do cry.

Song and the Lyrics of what you're listening to right now...
Posted: 11/25/2009 10:22:50 PM
No One Like You - Scorpions

Girl, it's been a long time that we've been apart
Much too long for a man who needs love
I miss you since I've been away
Babe, it wasn't easy to leave you alone
It's getting harder each time that I go
If I had the choice, I would stay

There's no one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we'll do
I just wanna be loved by you

No one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we'll do
I just wanna be loved by you

Girl, there are really no words strong enough
To describe all my longing for love
I don't want my feelings restrained
Ooh, babe, I just need you like never before
Just imagine you'd come through this door
You'd take all my sorrow away

There's no one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we'll do
I just wanna be loved by you

No one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we'll do
I just wanna be loved by you

There's no one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we'll do
I just wanna be loved by you

No one like you
I can't wait for the nights with you
I imagine the things we'll do
I just wanna be loved by you

What do you video tape?
Posted: 11/25/2009 7:57:50 PM

Anything I watch is taped - I hate commercials and prefer to fast-forward through brain-permeating jingles.

Not quite how I would word it, but that pretty much sums it up.

Is Faith a dirty word? Not Religion..
Posted: 11/23/2009 12:02:11 AM
To me, faith is trusting in oneself, as well as believing that everything is as it should be and/or that everything will always work out for the best. Even if it doesn't necessarily work out the way I'd like it to.

Should men and women live together?
Posted: 11/22/2009 9:29:10 PM
My (ex) husband and I lived together for 18 years, and we complimented each other quite well. I look forward to having that with someone again one day.

Yet, when I lived with one of my best female friends, it wasn't long before that arrangement came to a screeching halt.

I think it's less about gender, and more about personalities.

commercials that set ya off!
Posted: 11/22/2009 8:59:10 PM
I record most of my programs so I am able to just watch the show and fast forward through the commercials.
Otherwise, I tend to channel surf while they're on.

Washing your hands work. I have not had flu this year.
Posted: 11/21/2009 10:55:53 AM

and i have to admit, i'm not a good hand washer

May I suggest you add that to your profile?

Washing your hands is just good hygiene and common sense. And not only during flu season. Would you want someone who doesn't wash their hands preparing your food or touching your body? And I agree with Mr Really Handsome above me, using paper towel to pull the door open (and turn off the faucet) is smart, not ocd.

What a difference three years makes... I love dark chocolate now!

Why Do Guys Quit Dancing after 40?
Posted: 11/13/2009 12:02:29 AM

gonna look into it... any interests?

Absolutely!

I took line dancing years ago.. so much fun!
Salsa would be great, too.
And then of course there is burlesque. I think if we ask her real nice, a certain fishy may even be willing to give us a group rate.

o/t

I don't recall the problem being so much that men over 40 don't dance, it's more like not be able to get them off the dance floor!

What's up with the BBD (Bigger Better Deal)?
Posted: 10/22/2009 11:09:27 AM
Can this type of site contribute to the "never satisfied" attitude

Absolutely. It's that kid in the candy store mentality; I refer to it as 'hedging your bets'.

Personally, I would rather know someone is exploring something with someone else, than have him string me along until he decides which one of us he wants . I know in most cases, this is not realistic on a dating site, but that is just me.

I have been overwhelmed by emails and don't quite know how to tell people that that I'm not looking for another girl until I meet with this or that one to see if there is any spark

You just said it, and you can respond to your emails along those same lines.

"Thank you for your email but I'm currently talking to someone that I'd like to focus on getting to know a little bit better. I don't feel it would be appropriate to start something new with anyone else at this time."

I know, I know. I live in a fantasy world. Maybe that's why I don't play the dating game?

To pay or not to pay?? Or to have sex on first meeting??
Posted: 10/13/2009 7:04:27 PM

Hmm whats wrong with me ? I PAY and PUT OUT......

So essentially you are getting screwed twice..

When the tab came I threw down 20 bucks on the table and HE TOOK IT!!!

I admit haven't read the entire thread, so I'm not sure if anyone addressed this or not but..
why did you throw down the money if you didn't want him to take it? Were you testing him?

I agree that if he invited you out, then he could have paid the bill and refused to take your money. But you played the game, and you got burned. At least you found out early on and it only cost you twenty bucks. Next time someone asks you out, just let them pay. If there is a second date, you can either pick up the tab or pitch in then.

As for having sex on the first meeting.. only if that's what you're looking for.

Being Thankful
Posted: 10/12/2009 12:18:22 PM
There have been ongoing challenges, and many changes, but overall, this year has been a year of answered prayers and dreams come true.

I am thankful ...

that my daughter safely realized a dream of hers this past summer, a dream she's had ever since she was a little girl

that my son is still in school, primarily due to the generosity of those who have nothing to gain but to see others realize their dreams

for the honour of standing beside a dear friend on the day she married the man of her dreams

that someone I care about is now cancer free

that for every door that closed, a window was opened

for good days .. and good memories

for all this October sunshine!

and last but never least, I always thankful for my children, my parents, my family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

The google street viewer, what's your opinion?
Posted: 10/10/2009 12:07:35 PM
I was kind of creeped out at first .. but then last night I had plans to meet a friend at a restaurant I'd never been to before, and it was kind of cool to be able to not only get directions, but actually see what to look out for.

I like that they blur out people's faces and license plate numbers if they happen to be in the picture.

new tv shows this fall
Posted: 10/4/2009 8:06:05 AM
^ I nearly peed myself watching Modern Family! And Glee is musical and quirky, so I may continue to watch that.

I found both Cougar Town and The Good Wife disappointing, and the eye candy in Eastwick and the new Melrose Place may not be enough to keep me coming back. ( I can't believe I've actually watched this much television!)

I may just stick with what I already know and love .. Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters, Turner Classics and the Food Nework.

Comfort or Mountain, which bicycle style?
Posted: 10/3/2009 3:55:41 PM
Congratulations on your new bike, OP .. I just recently invested in Norco Plateau and so far I am loving it!

I, too, was concerned with the strain on my lower back and shoulders, so I went for a comfort style bike that comfortably distributes the weight between my hands and my hips. Although I won't be doing any crazy stunts, I really wanted a bike that I could ride on or off road so this one is perfect for me. I don't know the difference between the different types of brakes, but mine are v. And according to Fizzy, that's a good thing.

Enjoy your new bike!

Water aerobics has always been my exercise of choice, but I have to admit I've slacked off quite a bit when it comes to exercise. My treadmill still gets used quite regularly, and I took pilates and core classes in the Winter/Spring, but due to health reasons, never renewed my membership.

I'm currently in the market for a cruiser bicycle and plan to go back to the pool.

I bought the bike ...and I've gone back to Curves!

12 STEPS CULT OR CURE??
Posted: 9/27/2009 5:03:48 PM
I think support groups are great for overcoming addiction but I just dont see the need to inject religion into it.

I know MANY whose lives have been saved, or whose loved ones' lives have been saved, directly as a result of their involvement with a 12 step program. ...and not one of them would I consider a 'religious' person. Some don't even believe in a God. But they do have FAITH .. whether it be in themselves, or in a higher power, or in the program, or in the unity. We should all be so lucky to have the power to believe.

My son belongs to a martial arts club, and the club is often criticized about being a cult simply because members bow to a flag, and a grand master, and practice certain (in my opinion, silly) rituals. So what? It does not negate the fact these members are hard working, well disciplined, talented and successful martial artists.

I guess I just don't care for the word 'cult' being used with the intent of making something good, look bad.

I dont really care what it means.....

Amen.
