Well, here's a perspective: From what I've seen, growing up in New Orleans, going to school in an all-black area where "get whitey" was the theme, there was alot of revelation of the underlying mindset present in the ghetto. White people are generally disliked and viewed as 'devils' or something to conquest, whether it's by robbery, assault, rape or burglary, in the "thug" world of ghetto-kind. White girls targetted for harrassment and bullying into being sex toys for gangs, then pushed into prostitution. I've seen a commonly recurring theme of predation of white women by non-white guys who mostly just perceive her as a conquest and a way to get back at the white man for holding him down. This is mostly subconscious, but was something often consciously spoken by the youths I was around when in school with a million little black-panthers/ C.R.I.P.'s waiting to happen. Most intuitive people of our (white) race have seen alot of what I've talked about, or atleast have caught onto it, and get a visceral reaction against your willfully subjecting yourself to this kind of interaction. Also, alot of us white people find it uncomfortable to witness the perceivably less civilized, less respectful treatment of women, often conducted by "minority" men. I have travelled through many different cultures, across the world, and have studied people with an open mind and open heart. I have the fortitude to resist the weirdly powerful notion of today that anyone white who speaks fondly of themselves and dares to criticize any other race's traits is a bad person. Overall, I've seen things and am not afraid to say what I've seen. Each culture has it's pro's and con's. Leaving the dating pool of one which is most saught-after and entering one with far fewer perceivable perks is just commonly reacted to as being strange. Take care.

Don't mess with deployed military. Our lives are quite different out there and we need time to adjust once back home. We come back to being ourselves here, but out there we are something different usually. Don't get wrapped up, involved with, or hung up on this guy.
