What Does Christmas Mean To You??
Posted:
12/12/2006 5:57:35 AM
Christmas this year is a little different for me, being layed off was the best thing that happened to me but it's been finding that next job that has been very stressful. I am the type of person that likes to give and without the means to do it this year has brought me down quite a bit. I know things will be fine and everyone will accept the fact that I can not afford it this year.
The plus side of this is that I will be able to do some volunteer work for the CHUMCity Christmas wish while I am free and have a lot of time. In the past years I have only been able to collect donations for them through my old job. Time for something new!
I hope everyone has a great Christmas.
What is everyone doing for NYE? Party? Staying Home? Bar? City Hall?

Holidays and being single...OUCH!!!!
Posted:

First of all...
to everyone...
Charlie,
Just try and keep positive. I don't think I have ever been with anyone during the holiday season, it used to bother me but now that I know what I want and what my priorities are it doesn't make any difference to me. Family is where it's at. Just relax and enjoy the time you get to spend with them instead of worrying about having that special someone to spend them with.
There is no such a thing as being too nice, just don't let people take advantage of it.
Yummy turkey... *drools*
If you ever just need someone to chat with feel free to send me a message.
Regards,
~Steve

Cynic or not, you were completely right. Heartbreak city, but it's all good. It's a huge weight off my chest and it's time to move on.

Just an update, I didn't end up going last night at her request, her son has been bad (he got sent home from school twice this week), She said me coming to see his game is a "treat" for him, so she told me not to come. Hopefully he'll be good the rest of the week so he'll get to come with us to the Maple Leafs Skills Competition on Sunday.

You're not doing anything wrong. I think it's the women. If they don't like it then it's their loss. I have the same problem too.

I'll probably be there, if I go I'll be there around 7-7:30 so I can catch part of the Leafs game and I also may bring a friend from Hamilton.

CountrySugar: I'm def not getting my hopes up, thanks for your advice.
naturelover70: I think we all search for love as well and even if it's companionship it's fine by me. I do not want to ruin the friendship but I really think there is more for the both of us. We'll see in a few hours I suppose. Thanks for your advice.

Hey nicemuppet, is that an afican grey you've got? I've been wanting to get one for years! I just feel my current pad doesn't supply enough room right now.
PS. Thanks for the advice people, I really appreciate it!

I think they should get rid of Belfour and keep Telly as backup, Belfour just seems to be over the hill, we need someone like Vokoun....

7times: Yes, she is single now
nicemuppet: The signs are a lot different now then they were a year ago at this time. We talk a lot on MSN, she never used to send smiles and now she does.
I gave her a vday card that asked if she would be my love monkey, she asked me what the job description was. I explained it was just hugs, kisses and lots of cuddling, she smiled but did not say yes or no. I told her I assumed it was a yes and she just smiled again.

Hi guys/gals,
I met this woman about 6-7 years ago and I fell for her but she was with someone so nothing could come of it, I never told her. I waited because what I felt was strong and I am shy. However, I would get this feeling in my stomach (butterflies?) every single time I saw her.
Recently we've been hanging out a lot more (since August) and she finally invited me to her house and she's come and stayed at my place, we've slept in the same bed but we've done nothing more then hug. I don't know if I'm reading to much into this or if I should be making a move.
I'm going to see her tonight, we're going to watch her son play hockey, do I come out and tell her that I love her? Do I wait longer? Do I give up and move on?
PS. She's really into being indepenant right now.

There are decent guys out there. I'm not sure about the US but I know in Canada there are lots of decent men.
There's only so much
one can do before they get tired and I'm tired of it all. I'm near the point of giving up.

How long do you know someone before you invite them to your home?
Posted:

I think two wrongs don't make a right, he may have been wrong to suggest coming over for dinner (in some peoples eyes, I always say, no harm in asking, the worst that can happen is you'll get a NO) but it was also wrong to play along with the idea. I personally think thats leading someone on.
At least be honest with the guy if you aren't comfortable, the guy should accept it, if he didn't accept it, then he's an idiot and you don't need him.
I was in love with this girl a while back, she wanted to start off just being friends, so we did. It took her 5 years before she let me come to her house for a visit because I'm sure she just didn't trust me enough/she wanted her kids to be safe/a combination of the two. We're still friends and never went passed that.

I haven't been asked that dreaded question but I have been asked another question. My mom always asks "When am I going to have grandkids?". I always feel bad when I have to tell her that I don't know. I'm not even sure why I'm still single.
