so, how many girls have you been with?

You're correct in saying that it isn't an appropriate question on a first date. Personally I don't think it an appropriate question at any time. Those who ask such a question seem to be insecure about their own experiences and how they measure up.

Tell her that you don't feel comfortable answering the question. It isn't her business anyways.

Hey do ya personally know any happily married people in real life?
Posted: 6/29/2009 8:03:57 PM
I know lots of happily married people personally. My parents (34 years), most of their friends (whether they've been married for 40 years or 5), my older siblings, their own friends.

It's just important to remember that no married couple is happy all the time, that's the point of marriage. You go through life with each other experiencing all the highs and all the lows and sticking by each other in the lowest of lows then through your common challenges you grow stronger. Have my parents always been happy and not simply content? No. They provide an excellent example for their children.

Marriage is a leap of faith.

If someone emails you with misspelled words and bad grammar, do you respond?
Posted: 6/28/2009 8:39:30 AM
I wouldn't respond. Yes, pof is a casual setting, but how someone expresses themself in writing is generally indicative of their level of education and literacy. I've taught English and studied various languages, so personally poor grammar and literacy skills are a turn off.

When should the woman offer to pay?
Posted: 6/27/2009 6:17:20 PM
A woman should pay, not simply offer to pay, when she does the inviting. After a couple of successful dates of not paying a cent then a woman should offer to pay for drinks, or dessert or suggest a more economically sound date. Really. First dinner dates should be modest at best. You're there to get to know each other, not set a financial precedent you cannot maintain.
