chip, Apologies if this causes offense, but you quite obviously have no idea what you are talking about. My Spanish, Italian, German, and Latin are ALL great (both written and spoken). And if you are truly fantastic at reading Spanish as you say, you would understand that although written language IS entirely visual, LANGUAGE in and of itself is entirely Object-orientated, which means, that you associate different language grammatic structures in a different manner. examples: sto imparando italiano por cinque anos. is literally NOT the same as: I have been learning italian for five years. (count the number of words) In Spanish: The red car. el carro rojo. (positioning of words) AND last but not least hast du zwei jahre alt? going by your theory, would be translated as: have you 2 years old? (which would be an incorrect association, yes?) If you look at this as a "Cognitive matter", you should realize your folly in not being able to understand spoken Spanish is partially because you lack the capability to understand the actual implied associations and differences between the two languages. That and your listening skills suck, because you obviously can't tell that all the poor girl wanted was some help, and some of you proceeded to jump down her throat. OK to point out the grammar, NOT ok to be a d$ck about it. Grow up guys.

Hey Prettymom, go with what Rabbithole says down the page. Pictures go a long way towards finding someone, because as men, we are VERY visual. It sounds harsh, but physical attraction is VERY important to men, no matter how mature we may, or in many cases, may not be. No matter what, don't appear desperate. It's a turn off. And finally, if you don't want to put a picture up, make sure you send one when you message someone. And good job for talking about being hearing impaired right in your profile.
