I heard YOU!
Posted: 9/22/2006 9:27:51 PM
This could be very entertaining.

Today I got caught singing in the car on the way home, and unexpectedly got the driver next to me clapping his hands for my singing efforts. I don't care where I am, I'll sing.

Posted: 9/13/2006 11:45:19 PM
oddly enough my name on POF, came from Bon Jovi lyrics. I'm not even a big fan of there's, but the song came on the radio well I was doing up my profile, heard the lyric and the old lightbulb started flashing.

At work I'm called junior, because by age I'm the youngest one there.

I'm glad that lukas won, he was the one that fit the look of the band and I think his sound will complement the songs already written. I'll likely see them when they come to Vancouver in 2007.

in response to what rudeguy59

I'll agree with half of your comment, if she is paying for half of everything then it would be good to get her opinion. ( I still don't think she should be a crab about guest coming over)

To me it sounds like she is demanding instead of voicing her opinions, and that is bullshit plan and simple. I've had bad roomates, once they cross that line and start demanding then the demands will never stop. It only becomes one big stressful situation.

As the other party in this living arrangment make sure your still getting what you want out of living with her, and not always giving in to keep her calm.

just my two cents

I wanted to say thank you to Fox, your quick response to my dilemma was appreaciated. I have now sent an E-mail to my potential match. I also wanted to give a big thank you to all the volunteers who put their heads together and work their way through all 200 people.

I for one won't be backing out, because that is spineless and a cruel response to your picked partner. What a crappy way of saying thank you to people who are trying to do a nice thing for you.

It was really something to watch and hear, I was woken up by it and the house shook like an earthquake. Then when I turned on the news I heard that my town Tsawwassen gathered 22mm of rain in 30mins. I'm just glad that the weather got it all out of it's system before I headed to work.

UFC Ortiz Vs Shamrock!!
Posted: 7/9/2006 9:37:22 AM
I had a feeling that Shamrock would loss the fight. He was going into the fight to emotional, he came out swinging just like he said he would and Tito had a perfect defense for it. My thought is if big John Mcarthy had been refereeing the fight he may have given Shamrock a few more seconds, but I think the outcome would have been the same.

As for the main event, it was a rather slow boring fight, but my guess is that both figthers knew that there losses in this feud came from making careless mistakes. neither guy wanted to go for that big knockout blow because one missed punch is all the opening either guy would have needed to finish the match quickly.

I agree with a earlier poster, I have never seen as much blood spill in a match then during the first bout on the night.

is it ok to laugh at the handicaped?
Posted: 5/27/2006 2:25:47 PM
I get it more than you know.

"Is it ok to laugh at handicapped people?", ignorant question to being with. Wheather your handicapped or not being laughed at for your misfortunes, leaves you with a feeling of embrassment. If you can laugh at yourself in the process great more power to you. Most in this world can't.

Let me throw a question at you Kid Wicked.

You have clearly decided that it's okay to laugh at someones misfortunes wheather their handicapped or not. Would you still be laughing at them, if your mocking them at a time of embrassment redused them to tears.

is it ok to laugh at the handicaped?
Posted: 5/27/2006 2:46:33 AM
Wow I'm amazed this thread has gone on this long. I work with handicapped people in a school setting, and maybe we should all learn a lesson from the children that are growing up in this very interesting world.

The other day, one of are austisic kids were running around in the playground, he tripped well running, and landed right in a puddle soaked from head to toe, I felt bad but knew he had clothes in the classroom he could change into, but the kid who saw it happen wasn't privy to that info, and asked if it would be okay if the austisic child could wear something of his, I guess he also had spare clothes in the school. He didn't laugh he just showed concern for a fellow human being.....yes when stuff like that happens are instinct is to laugh, just remember how you would feel in the same scenario, laughing at a person or laughing in your mind with the person, at the end of the day is still laughing at others misfortune.

One of are kids has the perfect comeback written on his shirt

"you laugh at me because you think I'm different, I laugh at you because your all the same".

Think about that one.

Some advice
Posted: 5/15/2006 10:49:04 PM
everyone here seems to be giving you good advice, but the fact of the matter is before you do anything you need to know exactly the extent of her problems. You said she took time off work to try and solve her problem. Well clearly what ever it was she tried or didn't try has failed. Did she actually seek help with her problem, or did she sit on her butt and pretend the problem wasn't there. If you go to your bosses and lay down this claim, you had better be able to back your claim up.

If she's becoming a danger at work, then clearly you know what you need to do, just remember she is a good friend to you now because she feels that she can trust you, but if you make a bad judgment call you will lose her trust, thus making any intervention nearly impossible.

I'd say go out for dinner or drinks with her one night, and find out just how much trouble she is in, your gut instincts will tell you what the right move is to make. Your a good friend for even putting thought into this problem, most people would just walk away and let the chips fall where they may.

good luck man I feel for both of you.

Who should be the next Canucks coach?
Posted: 5/15/2006 4:12:30 PM
I agree that Pat Quinn would be an obvious choice, but let's face it, Pat Quinn wouldn't do it unless he was GM & head coach. Some how I don't think Nonis could handle Quinn, and I don't think Quinn would listen to a word Nonis would have to say.

I have thrown this idea out to some of my friends and it has had mixed reaction. I think it would be cool to see Trevor Linden pull what Pinball Cleamons pulled in the CFL. Have the current assistant coach fill in until Trevor gets a couple more goals and becomes the new All time Canuck goal scorer ( I think he is only a couple goals away from doing that). Then let him retire and become the new Canucks head coach. This town loves him, and he has a ton of respect in the locker room, and I think he has played enough hockey to carry himself behind the bench.

He's been the head of the players union for god knows how long. I think if he can carry that load, I think he could at least give being a head coach a real good run. I believe for true Vancouver fans it would has the same interest level as Gretzky becoming a head coach.

Is Delta a nice place to live?
Posted: 5/13/2006 11:25:07 PM
Well I live in Tsawwassen and yes it is a very nice town to live in, and no the T is not silent in Tsawwassen.

The only down side to the town is not much for the youth to do unless they get joined into a sport team of some kind, This is only relevent if you have kids that are coming over with you. The beach in Tsawwassen is beautiful and the people here are very nice, when you say hello to them in passing, you will actually get a response back.

Ladner is a nice town as well, but keep in mind it is a fishermans town, so the heart of that town is right where the boats are. between Tsawwassen and ladner is loads of farm land and beauiful property on that farm land.

North Delta my views of that town are pretty much the same as the above reviews.

I hope all of this will be helpful.

RAIN
Posted: 5/13/2006 1:29:15 AM
Went to Rain the beatles experience tonight. OMG it was a really great show. These guys did a unbelieveable job, of sounding like the actaul group that we know and love. They will be doing a second show tomorrow night. If you haven't seen them you should go and watch these guys it is definetly worth the money.

So I'll ask the question which was your favourite beatles song growing up. Mine was definetly

Twist and Shout but only because I one time had to do a performance in grade seven in front of all the parents to that song.

yellow submarine
hey jude
and of course even though it wasn't totally a beatles songs "imagine" such a beautiful song.

Lyrics to describe how you are feeling
Posted: 5/11/2006 11:07:00 PM
I always find this one can best describe me at times

Since I was born they couldn't hold me down
Another misfit kid, another burned-out town

Never played by the rules I never really cared
My nasty reputation takes me everywhere

I look and see it's not only me
So many others have stood where I stand
We are the young so raise your hands

They call us problem child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
We are the youth gone wild
We stand and we won't fall
We're the one and one for all
The writing's on the wall
We are the youth gone wild

Boss screamin' in my ear about who I'm supposed to be
Getcha a 3-piece Wall Street smile and son you'll look just like me

I said "Hey man, there's something that you oughta know.
I tell ya Park Avenue leads to Skid Row."

I look and see it's not only me
We're standin' tall ain't never a doubt
We are the young, so shout it out

They call us problem child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
We are the youth gone wild
We stand and we won't fall
We're the one and one for all
The writing's on the wall
We are the youth gone wild

They call us problem child
We spend our lives on trial
We walk an endless mile
We are the youth gone wild
We stand and we won't fall
We're the one and one for all
The writing's on the wall
We are the youth gone wild

Appropriate Jokes

here's another one

there were four people riding on a train one day.

one american man
one canadian man
one hot model type female
and one elderly lady

The train went through a tunnel and everything went dark, suddenly everybody heard this smack echo throughout the train cabin, and when they came out the other side of the tunnel, there was the american holding this cheek and rubbing it as if someone had just smacked him across the face.

well everybody sat in silence but were trying to figure out what just happened. The american figured that the canadian must have tried to cop a feel with the hot model and in the act of trying to defend herself smacked the american instead. The elderly lady thought that the american must have tried to cop a feel with the hot model and gotten smacked for his efforts. The hot model thought that the american must have tried to cop her a feel missed and instead copped a feel from the elderly lady and gotten smacked for his efforts.

and canadian thought, damn I can't wait until we go through another tunnel again so I can smack the american.

I always liked that one.

mi3 or Poseidon?
Posted: 5/10/2006 10:40:15 PM
well I saw MI3 last week, good enough movie if your looking for over the top stunts and the same two facial expressions you get in every Tom Cruise movie..either real pissed off look, or grinning from ear to ear look.

Oh course I'm sure you'll get the same over the top stunts in Poseidon as well, so If your looking for a special effects stunt movie to go and see I'm sure either will suit you just fine.

Movies you found it painful to sit through
Posted: 5/7/2006 11:56:59 AM
any movie with Brendon Fraser, Pauly Shore, Jeff Goldbulm.

how the hell these three became actors is beyond me

side note: the movies that Jeff Goldblum are in are good, but he bores the hell out of me evertime he is on screen.

Do words have hidden meanings for you?.
Posted: 5/6/2006 9:41:33 AM
I use this one with certain people. but the reason behind it is kind of corny.

a friend of mine I was with one day, was a little ticked at me and said in response that she was thinking of two words that start with F and O. Well her five year old daughter was close by and and heard this and said I know a word that starts with a F, and said the word "frog". So I said well do you know a word that starts with O, and she said "Ouch".

So now everytime I want to tell someone to F' off instead I'll just say Frog Ouch

told you it was kind of corny.

expo 86 memories
Posted: 4/30/2006 11:29:52 PM
some great memories of mine came from the summer of 86, I still have the promotional video that showcased all the pavillions from expo, and i still have my stamp booklet that has all the countries stamps on them. I love nastagelic items from my youth.

I loved watching the guys climb up the side of the wall at the Alberta pavillion well I sat and ate my barron of beef. of course being a kid at the time, who could ever forget the UFO-H2O waterpark.

Of course who doesn't get that rush of patriotism everytime there driving through Guildford and see that gigantic Canadian flag flapping in the wind, although I do miss the giant hockeystick that leaned against the flag at Expo.

What's the latest nice thing you did for someone?
Posted: 4/30/2006 10:19:03 AM
The other day, I had come back from doing some grocery shopping, and was going to use the elevator to get up to my place, but saw that an elder lady was struggling to get her grocery to the elevator, so i made sure she got her stuff to her front door, then carried on with my stuff.

also the same day, I was helping a friend celebrate his birthday, and let him beat me in 8 straight games of pool, just so he could feel better about himself.

Thank you again for the comments, The opening line I put referring to waldo mostly was meant for humor. I.E. putting the smiley face after the comment. It was more of an observation then my views about POF.

good or bad reviews I'm happy to be getting some feedback

DO i stand a chance with what my profile says?
Posted: 3/17/2006 9:22:25 AM
The first thing I would is change the order in which you put the profile. You start by focusing on all the negative stuff, and your particular critera, then near the bottom you start talking about who you are and the type of person they will get to know. I understand that you want to weed out the ones that have no chance with you, but I think I would tone down some of the critera. It's okay to be direct, but I times you sound like your being down right mean.

P.S. I'm a dog and puppy fan, so your little comment about shooting them I hope was just sarcasm.

good luck to you.
