Jeannie...when we meet, in person, I will share some funny tales of "mis-directed" emails, texts, and phone conversations. There are some, I WISH wearing my reading glasses would have prevented! It was a brain or memory that I was lacking!!!! When the "OOPS!" have occured......it is a good way to determine if someone TRULY has the sense of humor, they claim! :)
Reva.......I regret to tell you I am, most likely, not attending. So far, it is not a good-week-end for my neices, to have me. I am trusting that, due to your wonderful "put a mixer together" talents, there will be more to come! I wanted to meet people/ new friends, in general, not just a "magic producing" man. That would of only been a bonus.
If I do not make it...I WILL be aware of what I am missing........those Popburgers! :) Seriously....PLEASE DO PLAN A SEQUEL, so that I can meet the woman, who salivates over those burgers. Is the idea to find a man, who is as impressive, to nibble on?!!!!:)

You have done a splendid job of organizing this...it would be so sweet and deserving and if you discovered more than the amazing burgers!
I am coming from Virginia to visit my beautiful, single nieces. How could I resist meeting such an array of wonderful people ?!

Why do women date mutiple guys at once?
Posted:

Strawberry jam; you, so eloquently, wrote how I feel. sheliam, you and I have "good taste" in whom we agree with! LOL!
Only once did I ask a man I was "growing feelings for" to please make him and I exclusive....... until we knew if we had a shot at romance. It was a mistake. I was wrong. If you have to ask.......not mutually come to that assumption.....just not a good thing.
I am not jealous or possessive. I do not care if who I am "dating"...is "dating" others. If it is meant to be between him and I; it is meant to be. I would RATHER my potential mate...... date others...I never want him to wonder if he has "settled" ........but truly has found his BEST match
Lets face it.......us wonderful people are compatible with lots of other wonderful people...to a point. We just want the one who "fits best" with us!
Also...if you like someone enough to see them again or even to keep in touch....you OUGHT to desire happiness for them....even if it is NOT with you. Those are GENUINE, unselfish feelings...... when it comes to caring for another person. Unfortunately........ too many people equate "caring about someone else" with their personal emotional needs, ONLY.
We are all on the same quest....finding a companion to share life with...each one has their own path to get there......there is no "right or wrong" way.

Made in Michigan?

Curious....aren't there some pretty darn good boat building yards in Michigan? Anybody know any of the names of the companies? Seems like I used to pass by some on the way to Holland State Park.
Years ago, I read that Michigan had the most registered boats for ANY state, including states with a much longer boating season. I found that interesting. I know I had a ski-boat I couldn't get enough of and when I didn't; there was ALWAYS a friend who did have a boat and frequently a cabin on a lake to accompany a "family" of boats.
One of the many things I miss terribly......... is the Lake Michigan shoreline, in ANY season! Now, THAT is something "made in Michigan!" :)

Tammy,
I hope you have the sense of humor I think you do. I just tried to get on your profile to give you my email address. It blocked me . I don't, normally, try to "meet" a woman on
a dating sight. LOL! I do like your profile, by the way. I look forward to camping with you. You are welcome to click on my profile to message me to exchange email addresses. Then, maybe it will be easier to co-ordinate some of this.
Wouldn't it be funny if we are on here to meet a man and end up with a platonic girlfriend, instead! Both would be nice. :)
RAX...you are welcome to do the same....message me to exchange emails. I am concerned about how we can make sure we each pay so that one person doesn't have that responsibility.

What about maple syrup?
I have relatives near G.R. that have had a shop selling it and byproducts for years; along with other tasty home-made goodies. The candy melts in your mouth.
Of course, now, the internet allows them to sell worldwide. Elementary school kids come on field trips to see the process.
It is the Maier SugarBush in Caledonia.

Guilty By Thought ?
Posted:
7/15/2009 4:40:27 PM
No we are NOT any "guiltier" of being an actual murderer for having the desire, then we are of being a florist because we happen to adore flowers. Of course we have ALL had if not murderous thoughts.......torture fantasies [ I want them hung by their tits or balls or both] of deserving people.... such as paedophiles.
HOWEVER, we do live in a society that has done enough research to determine the likelihood of actions based on someones psychological profile. I get it that it is not an exact science and has flaws......but we keep getting smarter and smarter about this. "Innocent until proven guilty"...waiting for the person who hasn't gotten "caught" yet to damage a child, to "strike" or "strike again"..... too many times has ended up with dead or "wish they were dead," children.
I think it is our job to find as many punishable offenses, they HAVE committed, prosecute for that and exaggerate those offenses....do whatever we can legally, to restrict them. We HAVE TO KEEP them in jail, when we have them there and not have policies that make it so easy for them to get out, early, or at all. We need to start REALLY studying the records of judges and find ways to make them accountable when they keep a person in prison longer for smoking weed than a person who has molested a child. I lived in a city, once, where we voted for judges......I took my vote VERY seriously.
Most improtantly, we need to NOT turn away and figure that is none of our business, when observing questionable behavior of a potenetial paedophile. Our society needs to stop protecting someone just because they are related or came "out of their vagina." We need to stop thinking of that as "loyalty" to family and being an admirable trait.
Evil is evil........ it takes on a whole new meaning when done to a child. I agree with someone on here who says it is one thing to want to murder someone....it is UN-NATURAL to want to molest a child. I don't know about you....but the idea of having sex with a child...even an older one....I just can't fathom it. I possess a VERY playful, creative mind. I am slow to judge anothers' "turn-on" because I have no idea how it developed or haven't tried it. BUT ......WITH A CHILD or even a captured animal, ........even MY wild, crazy imagination does not go there!!!!! It is almost like there is a "block" in my brain that shuts out even an inkling of a thought of molesting a child.
SO, in conclusion, because I believe I am not special for having that "block"...I am the norm......the ones that do........ YEP, they ARE guilty and we should restrict them any way we can.
Thanks for letting me having my say and I will listen to any criticism of my way of thinking.

Pushed away again

WOW! I came on here to check on this lovely young lady. I read her heart breaking poem awhile ago. I HAVE to say ....reading all the excellent advice you each have given her....IT REVIVES MY FAITH IN MANHOOD!!!!! ...and womanhood, too! I have learned a few things, myself....thank-you.
It makes me wonder, though...there are so many of us who DO have our "acts together" and understand what is important in life. Why are WE not meeting each other? I HAVE met some incredible, incredible men, but there was a lack of the ever elusive chemistry. Otherwise, I have found " something close enough to chemistry," but it was " in all the wrong places"....NOT to be pursued.
Sigh....it will be so sweet when it all fits together...
Wishing you each the best, each day, as you spread your wonderful out-look on life.

Tammy...nice to see another female interested. I hope Bette is coming too. The more, the merrier! I love getting to know new people who are "outdoorsy" and fun enough to go camping. I do have camping gear to share...even an extra tent.
If anyone wants # to start getting serious about this...I will be happy to oblige. I assume we also need to "pay up" as well. I am still hoping for a new friend to share the ride there and back with.

A blonde leading a red-head...this ought to be fun! Thank-you for the welcome to the forums; I hope you mean the Michigan one, specifically, since I gave my pathetic plea to belong!
When I click on the quote on the right...it does nothing........ wonder where my lap-top was made?
THANK- YOU Kat, though, for trying!!!

I was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa to a British Dad and a Mom from Grand Rapids. I have lived there as an adult, southern Cal. and now Virginia. I have enjoyed each place, but always PROUDLY say I am FROM G.R. Mich. I fiercely hang on to any shred of an accent I have left. If my Mom was born in Michigan and I had duel citizenship.......USA and the U. K. until I became a fully naturalized U.S. " proud to be American," while in Michigan........That counts, right?! I AM from Michigan.
I used to think I could never be President but IF Obama was born elsewhere and the media didn't think it note-worthy......hmmmmmm........maybe I CAN give it a shot! But, maybe I, at least, should know how to "thread" first! :)
Curious......is apple butter a Michigan original?

O.K....please explain....how do you get your thread to "post" under the comment one is commenting on? I was trying to answer where Gerber makes baby food.....in Fremont.
I will gratefully accept guidance in "threading." Come to think of it..... I have never been good at threading needles, either.

I used to live in Grand Rapids....great city.....and loved it there. As I recall; "Meijers " was created in that area. I do believe Walmart has copied the concept of "one-stop" shopping. Thumbs-up to a hard working Michigander with vision, who has had the highest compliment...being copied.

OOPS! I should of said thread, not "sight." I meant the one other one you have that starts out..."anyone interested....." THAT is where there are more people showing interest. Maybe I don't quite understand how all this works. It wouldn't be the first time. .....or the last; but always happy to be gently chided and guided, as needed. :)

The lol is not necessary. You did a very good job at communicating your thoughts. I noted it has been awhile since you dealt with the pain mentioned; I hope your heart as healed by now. Love is so tricky.....our hearts refuse to believe what our heads already know.

Thank-you....I will be watching for more details. Is there anyone, whom I could car-pool with, from MD? I live in K. G. not far from the Nice Bridge, which crosses over the Potomac and is the 301. Maybe I can join up with someone on the way. A big thank-you to the man who started this....anything I can do with help arranging it?
