I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every moment

All men are animals, some just make better pets

When life gives you lemons squirt juice in your enemy's eye

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Any day above ground is a good day

Chasing the cat is more fun than catching the cat

If you want a kitten, start by asking for a horse

Even Popeye didn't eat his spinach until he had to

From the mouths of babes

When I was 4 I was sitting with my mom as she did her normal nightly routine of cleaning and moisturizing her face. As she poured some of the "Oil of Olay" in her hand I asked her what it was for. She replied that it helps you look younger. My response?
"Doesn't work, does it mom?"

I'm waiting for the payback I'm gonna get for that one.

lazy children?

another method i've used before...is the saturday box...anything that wasn't picked up by bedtime throught the week went into a box...they could have the stuff in the box back on saturday...it didn't matter if the item was taken away on sunday morning..or friday night...saturday was "return" day.

I do something similar to this with my two sons, ages 5 and 6. Anything that isn't picked up by bedtime gets put in a box but I don't give anything back to them until they have gone a week with a clean room at bedtime. This is kinda tough with them sharing a room but I just have to make sure I know who's toys/clothes are on the floor.

As for the reaction you get when asking your daughter to do something, I think it depends on the childs personality. My 5 yr old loves to help me and does so, most of the time without prompting. My 6 year old is 50/50. It does need to be addressed and yes my kid thinks I'm the meanest mom in the world when I tell him no TV because of the way he's behaving but, he's slowly but surely getting the point. Just remember, it'll get worse before it gets better.
