How am I supposed to act on a first date?
Posted:

hey, devil-dog. you need to relax. just be yourself and don't put her on some pedestal (that's what 80s songs taught us). it's 2009.
and if you're really USMC, Chesty Puller would **** slap you for asking such a question.
Be yourself. Treat her as if you're taking your sister's friend out. It's no big deal. That way she sees who you are. but if you act all nervous and like some geek, she'll think that you are, and then Chesty Puller would rise from his grave and **** slap you.

OP, your post made me LAUGH!!!!! It reminds me of a lyrical line by Dr. Dre,
"...A fool and his money soon split, so when you come across a fool get all that you can get."
Bro, stop dating strippers. You're not Donald Trump or a Congressman or a Lawyer; you cannot afford it.

ha! OP, you are naive! let me tell you what will happen if you come up to his apartment. you two are going to have sex. the wine will smash your jugdements and his pressures will pressure your clothes off!
The reason why he was showering before your first date was because he already had sex with his dinner date and didn't want to smell like puh-na-nee in your midst.
It doesn't matter if you're clear or not. Us guys are crafty, and we can make you believe you want to have sex with us even if you think you don't!

How To ask the right questions...
Posted:
10/30/2009 8:40:53 PM
ahhh this is easy. Now, YOU have to play hard to get. since you've been giving it up left and right with little work, to find out if you're something real to him, don't go out with him for two weekends....say you have family matters. you have to pull back for a bit.
then let things go back to normal for 3 weeks. then do the family thing again.
Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free? if you can go for a year, then maybe you have something there.
if you can last two years, then you have something serious.
pass three years, if he doesn't give you a ring, dump him.

Am I being too forward?
Posted:
10/30/2009 8:03:14 PM
what was your quesstion, coldrealtity? If your question is your subject line, then no. You're not being too forward.
People don't know how to volley communication and play in it. You'e actually going over their heads. Ask simple questions to the guys you're messaging like,
"what's your favorite football team" or something like that. Or, "what's your favorite beer."
You'll receive a response 99.98 of the time. Oh, also ask them how much time do they spend at they gym because you think they work out a lot. You'll get a 100% response rate then.
Don't be sensitive. Being sensitive means you don't know who to relate or control your situation/environment. And if you're not in control, who is?

Why is it such a stigma to be an older bachelor?
Posted:
10/30/2009 7:55:22 PM
It's not a put down; it's a put down by those who are trying to destroy your hopes.
fyi: I have a friend who is 50 and married my 26 year old friend. I also have a drinking buddy who's dad, who is 61, is dating a 27 year old.
When i left my wife (I'm 35), a salesmen (at a music store) told me, don't be all down and out, brother; i'm 45 and my girlfriend is 22.
Odds are, the people who are telling you that it's bad to be a bachelor at your age are women. Only exceptional women can date younger men, however most older men can date younger women.
Think about it --> even nature backs us (men) up. Older women go through menopause. But an old dude, can still make babies if his sperm count is up; we can still add continuation to the human race. Not so with older women. That's why they're so bitter.

Posted:

ha! i had to look at your profile because i was about to say,
"john, why the heck are you complaining? you're 50 and you married my friend who is 26."
So, i looked at your profile and you are not my friend john.
Now, who ever is filling your mind with that nonsense that it's not okay for men to date younger women is just jealous.

Good on Paper.....
Posted:
10/30/2009 7:07:22 PM
OP... i had to read and re-read the true meaning of your question. when you write, "good on paper" what you really mean is "good in financial statements!"
That's why your example is of a Doctor. It couldn't have been a lawyer, politician or judge.
You must understand, the conversation lags because you find him physically repulsive yet his financial stature makes you mentally orgasm!
Awkward silence means you actually looked at him and the ring on his left hand.
"Connection strong in written capacity" means checks in his name to you. yes the monetary figures are strong, but he is in fact ugly, yet financially powerful.
"has the relationship died" === this happens when you cash the check
"what did you do to bring life" === ask for another check
"face to face encounter" == the ugly sex exchange to make it "all good".

Do men realy think that blonds are more attractive?
Posted:
10/30/2009 6:31:52 PM
it's all relative, but in my opinion, i prefer the "natural" hair color. of a woman's hair matches her the color of the root, i think it's sexy!
And if she is stunningly beautiful and is wearing very little or no make up at all, i think she is DIVINE!!!!!
Now, to find such a woman is like looking up into the sky and seeing a UFO. But just like the Creator, they do exist, for example: Claire Forlani and Morena Baccarin!

it's because they probably think you're ugly and they dont want to even bother.
the reason why they still email you is because they're trying to string you along for a casual sex encounter. and that's it!

....paid sites are better but I'm not sure...
this is coming from left field OP, but that statement really made me think:
back in the days when i used to go out and drink and meet chicks, i've noticed a trend:
The higher priced bars had better looking and better refined chicks. sure, you may catch a stripper in there, but their dialogue, choice of words and subject matter always gave them away. But the chicks were genuinely interesting and backed up their looks with a heart, soul and brain.
But then in the cheaper bars, fat and ugly chicks were a dime a dozen, all they talked about was sports, what they watched on TMZ, who's dating who at the bar, and they thought buying clothes at Old Navy made them fashionable.
hmmmm..... maybe "paid for sites" are indeed better??? hmmmm

Men: if your SO told you that your best friend was hitting on her, how would you handle the situation? Would you call him on it? End your relationship with him? Offer high fives?
OP, you HAVE to have a sit-down emergency meeting should such a challenging/testing event occurs. And drink tea or coffee when this emergency meeting happens. Everyone will need to be sober because it's serious business.

No, capricorn. it is a terrible idea. you need to let him go and forget all about it. and you need to move forward and not look back.
to help you move forward, i suggest you enlist in the U.S. armed forces of your preference so you can have a solid re-wiring of your thoughts and what's important to you. I suggest you choose the U.S. Air Force, but if you wanna go to the dark side, enlist in the U.S. Marine Corps and as your MOS, tell the recruiter that you wanna be "Motor-T".

Men, what is your opinion on "masculine" behaving women? Are you attracted ?
they're called lesbians. i'm friends with many, but i'm not attracting to them. i call them "softboys".
What makes a better match ?
i like to keep things simple and stay in the confines with what nature intended.
in my opinion, a better match comes from two individuals that compliment and enhance each other through their physical, mental and emotional differences. It's like a orchestra or a stunning painting. In an orchestra not everyone is playing a cello and not everyone is playing an oboe or french horn. And in a painting, you just don't see the color red or blue.

when did coffee become a first date?
Posted:
10/29/2009 3:04:53 AM
OP, coffee became a first date after 1996. After 1996, a lot of women decided it convenient to work as strippers and date lawyers and judges for money in the exchange of sex. now, us simple guys who like simple living/honest living couldn't keep up with all that money so we held a congress and decided that if an honest women would deny an honest cup of coffee, she isn't honest to begin with....... so there ya go. now you know.
coffee is a "precaution" to save us. no reputable stripper/lap-dancer/high-priced-whore would ever meet up with a guy for just coffee and to just converse without money being talked about.
If your first dating limits is sushi/a steak-house only, then you are, or will be, a stripper/lap-dancer/high-priced-whore later on in life.

Wedding for a first date?
Posted:
10/29/2009 2:58:34 AM
you know what? you should go to this wedding date and also get married afterwards!
c'mon, it's coincidence. are you that awesome that someone will want to marry you after having coffee with you? And if so, you should jump on that. I don't think brad pitt is going to leave his wife for you, so as us Texans say, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth."
in fact, don't go. tell him you changed your mind and that you're gonna rough it out until the one you really like emails you.
if you authentically liked him, you wouldn't even make these calculations. you should tell him this, and see how he reacts. if he doesn't have a backbone, leave him. If he leaves you, then he is an honorable man.

Puh-lease, OP! C'mon, you gave up the goods too fast and he just wasn't into a relationship or dating you would interfere with his relationship with his girlfriend or wife. i looked your your pics, and you are very attractive.
so what went wrong??? c'mon, we all went to highschool and this sort of stuff happened countless times and unlike the older fugly dudes on this site, i'm not going to play stupid with you.
you need to watch that movie "he's just not into you." if you want the "spiel" of what goes on in guys minds, heck, i'll lay it all out with you; i'll be your on-line coach if you want and i'll reveal all. look at my past threads, you'll see a theme that i'm not responding to anyones questions as if i have some type of sympathy agenda.
but, reading your thread, you sound like the typical sucker to me. but you had fun as well, so why are you complaining? why would you even want to settle down with someone you slept with on your first night? that never happens in the movies, or in literature.... why did you think your case, or YOU, was different?

How to get confidence to do that 1st date thing
Posted:
10/29/2009 2:29:38 AM
OP, i'm going to give you serious advice. I think you're trying to rush your circumstances. you need to just "go with the flow" on this one.
if you plant a seed in the ground, does it not grow in it's time?
in reality, everything happens naturally. if you're not dating at the moment, there 's a good reason for it. And then, when your energies align and your phone is blowing up, then it's all good too.
keep it all simple, keep it fun, and keep it comfortable. if you rush things, you'll mess it all up.

well, what do u seriously want out of it? is it a FWB or are you fooling yourself? if you are, you'll be in for a rude awakening.
look, OP, try to keep things simple. if you're having a blast with this person, why not enjoy it and see what progresses? who cares about the age. what matters is that both of you are happy. Isn't happiness worth something to build something on?
But if you're looking for someone else, then don' t use this guy as some crutch just to pass the lonely times -- that's terrible. Leave him and pursue what you really want.
