I would highly advise against investing in mutual funds. The fee's are too high and they often perform poorly. A basic index fund will serve you better over the long run.

Our economy will not fail. You have to realize that everything is relative. We may rely on China to finance our extravagant spending, but they rely on us to fuel their economic growth. I've been to China, and trust me, they are years upon years away from being able to sustain an independent economy.

Lost, why watch it?

Just the other day I hung out at the LOST campsite beach. Gorgeous place :P!

Anyways... I highly doubt the last season of LOST will live up to expectations. I almost think the writers have been simply pulling our chain for the last 5 years. I mean, honestly, they introduced Walt as a character who was seemingly fundamental to the plot and then he just disappears... No explanation. It pisses me off to watch the show sometimes but week after week I find myself returning to it, lol

It is nothing you did or didn't do. If he truly wanted it to work, he would have put the same effort into it as you. It's clear he did not. When you find the right guy for you... you will know. Their won't be a "what if" factor. I don't care what people say, but when you meet the right person... you will know. Never, ever, ever, settle for anything less.

A lot of people have no idea how to deal with their feelings. They are afraid to tell a girl straight up that they aren't interested, hence why they tell you that you're a cool girl but avoid you after that.

But in all honesty, you can't blame someone if their feelings don't emulate your own. And this goes for both guys and girls. It's foolish to blame someone for not liking you or wanting more. Have we not all been on the other end of the spectrum? Sure, it sucks, but don't blame them for it...

So many broken relationships go on just because someone is afraid to be honest and break it off. They feel like they owe it to the person to stay with them. The longer this goes on, the more painful the eventual breakup(or divorce in many cases) will be.

I'm not saying it's right for a guy to lead you on only to ignore you later, not at all. But I do feel that both sexes are far too defensive about being told their feelings for someone are not mutual. The next time a guy or girl is honest enough to tell you after the first, second, or third date that he/she just wants to be friends... thank them!

I second that.

Planes right now are actually pretty cheap. You might be able to get a roundtrip for around $150 if you're lucky. Also, for a free place to stay try couchsurfing!

I have to disagree. All roads point to a deflationary, not inflationary, environment for quite sometime. Gold has been a suckers investments over the past 12 months and so have most inflation-based investments.

Monday's a big day in my opinion. If investors show resilience and continue to buy I think we will see the market trade sideways until major earnings are released. If investors show fear, however, watch out below...

Anyone here enjoy investing and managing their own portfolios?

If so, what are your views the current market, why, and how are you adjusting your portfolio accordingly?

As for myself, I have just recently shifted from a bullish to stagnant/bearish perspective, and I have hedged my portfolio to make modest gains if the market goes down or sideways. I am playing it very conservatively, however, as I am waiting for further indication of a downward trend until I start shifting more of my assets towards a a more significant short position.

So who else has been infected with the travel bug?? Thanks to my dad who took my family to live in Kenya when I was younger, I have been obsessed with traveling and experiencing new cultures ever since.

Anyways, where all have you been and where do you plan on going to next?

I have been to: Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, London, Paris, Kenya, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Namibia, South Africa, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong/China, & Japan.

As for my next trip, I plan on visiting my cousins in Switzerland and then backpacking Europe for a month or so next summer. Can't wait!
