Good to see you signed up for this one, 123knock. You're gonna have a blast. See if Steph wants to join us.
I came out to the last one. Was my 1st time. I've since bought my own gear.
Instant addiction for newbies. What a blast. Gonna try my best to be at this one.
I just hafta find a ride from Victoria N. Kitchener.
Warning newbies. This game is addicting and fun.
Also, this group is very friendly and helpfull. They made me feel like one of the guys right away.
CRO will take the time to go over a few things to familiarize you with the game(rules), painters and safety before we start.
Don't be shy. Sign up for this one.
You won't regret it. Especially women. I was suprised to see how many women were there kickin butt. Ok...'shooting' butt...owww.
Doesn't hurt like i thought either so nuthin to be afraid of.
Very safe and professional bunch.
Hope I can get a ride and see you all again (any offers?).

OK... anyone interested in joining us for some great times and balls'a'flyin', the price at the "Townbowl" is $11.00/2 hrs. (cheaper than guelph AND fredrick lanes) including shoes and tax. Although the laces usually hold the shoes on pretty well, i do suggest the tax....hmm.
Lanes are already reserved for 8:30 pm...Plz R.S.V.P. so as I can reserve more lanes or cancel some.
For those who do not know where it is, you can find us at or near the corner of ottawa and king street...Otherwise show up for coffee at timmies and follow me at 8:00...lol.
hope to see ya all there.

P.S. Townebowl = 11 Ottawa St. N. Kitchener...sheesh!

~ Nigerian cooking? ~
Posted:
4/23/2007 3:38:09 PM
Try this one. It's easy on the palate if you can handle the heat on the tongue.
Nigerian One pot Chicken Dinner:
1 large Chicken -- cut in quarters or lg. pieces
2 cups -water
1 Onion -- thinly sliced
1 Stalk celery -- cut into 1" pieces
1 teaspoon Salt
1/8 teaspoon Crushed dried red pepper
2 Tomatoes
1 Green pepper -- sliced
1 tablespoon Lemon juice
1 tablespoon Tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon Chili powder
10 ounce Package of frozen okra
2 cups Cooked rice
In a large pot or Dutch oven place chicken, water, onion, celery, salt and crushed pepper.
Cover and cook over moderately high heat until it comes to a boil.
Reduce heat to moderately low and simmer 30 minutes.
While chicken is cooking, place tomatoes in a pan of boiling water for 1/2 min.
Spoon tomatoes out of the water, remove skin and cut into eighths.
Add tomatoes, green pepper, lemon juice, tomato paste, and chili powder to chicken. Continue cooking for 10 minutes.
Add okra to pot, cover and cook another 15 minutes, stirring once or twice.
Spoon rice into soup bowls and top with chicken mixture.
When making cassaroles, I do not put the rice in with everything else if I am going to be freezing or storing. White rice can be frozen in the cassarole but I find that if I use brown rice, it gives everything a distinctly grainy flavor that I find disagreeable. So I will put the rice in a plastic ziploc bag and freeze it with the cassarole. Then I will heat it separately.
Personnaly, I like to add a 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne to the chicken before cooking it. Makes it really hot...lol. Be careful though. Cayenne gets hotter as it cooks. You may want to leave it out.
Good luck.
Luv ya L8r

Funky Offbeat Memories for those 40+....

How about Camp Caribou or Goober and the Ghostchasers.
The twilight zone. Had many restless sleeps after watching that one. My parents shouldn't have let me stay up for it.
Pop rocks and crackerjacks. Wax lips, bottlecaps candy and popeye cigaterres...mmm. Pizza flavoured popcorn(also many other flavours). Oh ya, and those cinamon flavoured hot toothpics.
Cherry clackers and veiw finder. My sister actually had a Mrs. Beasley doll...hehe. I had smash-up derby cars.
Actually turning a dial to get 'all' 12 channels. Then getting the 'box' with the 30 ft wire and a whole bunch of push buttons to get 12 more channels.
Climbing trees then faling out, riding your banana seat bike over a ramp and going for stitches. Instead of (today's kids)yelling "Mom!!! The computer's down again."
The dreaded 8-track. I loved going to the car wash with my dad and watching the big brushes clean the windows.
Trying to draw circles on an etch-a-scetch and always settling for stairs.
I remember that stuff like it was yesterday...sigh. Ahh to be a kid again.
Now ask me if I can remember anything from when i was 17-29. All a blurr. Suprised I made it this far...lol
Great thread!

I stumbled accross this thread looking for my own 'profile review'.
After reading the posts thus far, I had to read yours.
Re: your success in #'s.
Stating success(in my opinion) would be enough. Otherwise you may only find yourself a 'gold digger'.
However, I will say(for those who read this post) your profile may be a long read but it is one of the funniest/most entertaining profiles I have ever read. So for the rest of you, check it out.
The next time I'm at a beach near Bridgewater, I'll watch for you so I can shake your hand. I know i'll find you there. If I can catch you.
I would also like to leave you with a quote by Stewie Griffin you may like.
"I like you. When the world is mine, your death shall be quick and painless"
When this happens, I'll be up for a change of carreer so please keep me in mind.
I will forward you my resume upon reciept of a mailing address to send it to.
My thanks in advance.

I haven't seen your profile reviews before so, I'm going to take a chance here assuming you may have some ideas for mine. Keep in mind, the emoticons may be a little much however, I purpsely did that to portray a playfulness and confidence not seen in some profiles.
Maybe it IS too much. Otherwise, let me have it please(that's if you do men's profiles).

I remember running out of gas on the 401 in the company truck when i was very young(Maybe 20). I had no money and was trying to hitch a ride to kitchener for gas money and a ride back from a friend . This was well before the times of cellphones not attached to your car.
An old man in a Cadillac pulled over and offered me a ride. After explaining my situation, he insisted upon helping me. He drove to the next gas station. Bought a small jerrycan. Filled it with fuel and promptly drove me back to the truck.
This was no simple matter since the exits to and from the gas station were soo far apart. This samaratin took alot of time out of his day and a few bucks out of his wallet to help a 'total' stranger. I tried to get his mailing address from him so I could mail him a check to repay him. He said to me"All you need to know is that my name is Jack and I just want you to pay it forward." Confused as to what it meant, i asked him. He said it was like 'what goes around comes around' and he made me promise to him that I would "pay it forward".
To my utter delight, a movie by the same name came out some years later and brought back the memory of my experience with that old man. A fond memory indeed.
Bye the way, it's worth renting "Pay It Forward" the movie.
To this day, I like to practice this philosophy(S**T I hope I spelled that one right or Ruggedk's gonna slam me). There is no better feeling than to make small sacrifices for others and knowing how much it's appreciated.
My 4cents.

One more thing.
Face it man. We're getting older and can't pick and choose em like we used to. if a woman can get away with what you're describing, you should consider yourself to be fortunate enough to meet her

I didn't read through the entire thread but I did read the OP's and a few others.
Here goes.
@OP:
Man, you need to lighten up a little. Some poor girl you're gonna hook up with is gonna starve for it with your closed mind(do you even have a penis)? Open up and have some fun. If a girl wants to flaunt it, let her be her. What a negative attitude.
I say "Dress in what makes you feel sexy" This goes for men as well as women.
If you're going a little overboard, don't your 'real' friends have a resposibility to tell you so. Also: If they 'really' know you and have no problem with you dressing a little provocatively, they'll not have a problem with being seen with you. If they do, then they probably aren't your friend and they haven't the b*lls to tell you so.
I for one like to see a woman dressing a little young and fun.
My 2 cents.

"I mean, seriously, how often do you really look at a mans shoes?"
jet: You can tell a little about a person by their footwaer...lol really.
I knew that was the only reason you guys let us go in front of you!!!
JJ: You're absolutely right...hehe
The best part of spring:
1. No longjohns
2. seeing grass again
3. Walking out to the car and 'not' wiping out on the ice and smashing yourself to the ground.
4. warmer/longer days to do outdoor things more comfortably without wondering if you need extra socks or a scarf.
5. flowers comming out.
6. The anticipation of a day just warm enough to take that 1st trip to the beach.
7. Spending the day cleaning the yard and getting ready to plant for the summer.
8. Being able to stay outside long enough to actually enjoy a sunny day without frostbite.
9. Putting away the winter coat and getting out a jean jacket or the leather.
10.seeing a pair of beautiful legs that go up and make an a** of themselves.
11. walking and letting that really hot woman go infront of you so you can check out that short skirt or those short shorts she's wearing(did I say that outloud)?
Luv ya L8r all.

Stroll25. You haven't been around to see metal evolve the way we did.
Metallica sold out and lost it long ago. Old metallica is awesome (Kill Em All, Ride The Lightning...etc).
I'm with Prof Chaos and Speedball. Old school metal rocks.
BTW...the new Megadeth is going to KICK AZZ!! Watch 4 it.

Older women, not wanting to date men their age.

I found this article by Andy Roony of CBS.
It pretty much says it all.
Why Older Chicks Rule
by Andy Rooney from CBS "60 Minutes".
This is for all you girls 40 years and over.... and for those who are
turning 40, and for those who are scared of moving into their 50's...AND
60's..and for guys who are scared of girls over 40!!!!
Andy Rooney says:
As I grow in age, I value women who are over 40 most of all. Here are just a
few reasons why:
A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What
are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.
If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around
whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually
something more interesting.
A woman over 40 knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what
she is, what she wants and from whom. Few women past the age of 40 give a
hoot what you might think about her or what she's doing.
Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at
the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you
deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get
away with it.
Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's
like to be unappreciated. A woman over 40 has the self-assurance to
introduce you to her women friends. A younger woman with a man will often
ignore even her best friend because she doesn't trust the guy with other
women. Women over 40 couldn't care less if you're attracted to her friends
because she knows her friends won't betray her.Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. They always know.A woman over 40 looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This is not true of younger women. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk, if you are acting like one! You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.
Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's
not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed hot woman of 40+,
there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with
some 22-year-old waitress.
Ladies, I apologize for all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can
get the milk for free." Here's an update for you. Now 80% of women are
against marriage, why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire
pig, just to get a little sausage!
In praise of older women...Luv ya L8r all

Seeking Attention
Posted:
11/4/2006 2:47:44 AM
I've seen some profiles do that with eyes or feet and I tend to think that's kind of cute but when it's some guy's abs or bottom or a woman's breasts or bum and nothing else - it makes me think they are very physically-minded so men with profile pics like that are not going to interest me beyond "ooh, sexy tummy... whatever" and then I click on to someone whose profile seems more well-rounded and balanced
Well stated.
I am blessed with a sister with great camera skills. My profile pics do not include a pic of my sixpack cause i have a 12 pac, but they are well done and i'm told i am attractive. It has very little to do with my pics. Pics only catch a person's attention. It's the sense of humor, attitude, optimism, intelletual conversation and above all...a positive attude that attracts a person. However the pics help alot for 1st contact. Personality is everything.
I'm back. Luv ya L8r all.
Chris.
