middle aged cheap skates------------
hummmmmmmm
so women want equality
but we also want men to pick up the tab for everything?

don't care if I'm the only one here that thinks so
but 2009
we still expect the man to pay?

I pay for my own food, concerts, movies
I work, he works...
we're equals

no mooching -

If Marijuana were legal today, would opponents be able to make it illegal?
Posted: 11/27/2009 4:32:52 PM

Lumping in ALL churchs together is really not fair to any of them, as they are as different as different can be. What if I said, "all of you athiests and non-christian non-believers are bad people".......... yet you basically do the same thing.

one
yes, I can lump all churches together even though you say that they are different-

and if you say all atheist are "bad people"
I could care less-

back on topic-
we allow narcotics, anti-depressants, booze
but marijuana
is........
ewwwwwwwwwwwww, baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad...

our society is over weight, highly medicated, we drug our kids into submission, many are on a****ail of drugs, the pharmatheutical compainies make millions pushing their legalized quick fixes, we take medication if we have headaches, we're stressed out, if we're depressed, if we have a cough...

but god forbid we take marijuana because the government that supplements tobacco, genetically engineered food, alcohol... says weed is bad for us-

I have to admit
it is in part nostalgia

so many memories
when I put that record on the turntable
and even if there is a scratch or two
the sound is better

putting that piece of plastic into a cd player-

New christian craze: Praying for Obama's death.
Posted: 11/27/2009 2:53:23 PM

Why does the president have to be godly anyway, Cant he be an athiest?
Youd think in a modern secular society he could be and one will be one day.

I would feel safer as far as silly bush-like presidents who see war as
holy wars
and the end, some armageddon
which to christians means the bible was right and prophetic

but we have a loooooooooooong way to go
before our "secular" society accepts an atheist as president

hell, I remember the uproar about Kennedy being-
OMG...
a catholic...

we are secular-
but you wouldn't know it
because those that aren't religious
are still so hesitant to voice how they really feel about religion-

Not surprised by your post.

not surprised by yours either Paul K
expected it...

as usual you write as if I am some bimbo
because I have an opinion other than yours
whatever...

how perceptive of you though
to realize that I "don't belong to any church that even remotely considers itself christian"
that must have been a hard deduction !

but you asked-
which christian church I was referring to?
well, Paul
let me ask you
is there a christian church out there that you can come up with
that isn't against people being happy
and isn't against making a hefty profit from their non -profit status
cuz - I don't

therefore, I deduce that I am talking about
ALL of the christian churches-

the christian church in the US would jump on their self righteous bandwagon and attempt to outlaw marijuana
if for no other reasons

that it makes some people happy
and that the church couldn't find a way to profit from its sale...

"New christian craze: Praying for Obama's death."
wow
I'm shocked!
not that christians would be praying for Obama's death
but that they are praying

I thought they were just busy
bashing health care
committing adultery
whooping it up at their local titty bar
amassing as much wealth that they can

but, going to church on Sundays
so they can start it all over again-

I wish. In times of economic woes people cut out the luxuries, like sports for kids

sports for kids-
a luxury?
with the obesity epidemic
type II diabetes in kids costing over a billion dollars a year to treat
with the competition of sit on your asz computer games instead of the real sport
with the lack of sportsmanship prevalent

sports is anything but a luxury-

Are vegans and PETA more moral and ethical than society?
Posted: 11/26/2009 7:14:20 AM
okay, no, I have read little that has been written here-
because whenever PETA is mentioned
the loonies (on both sides come out of the woodwork)
but I have to say-
vegans and PETA do not go together
they are not joined at the hip

I don't eat meat haven't since 15
which as you can see has been a long time
but I once did belong to PETA
and felt betrayed by their tactics-
and felt that they were more into self-serving
than concern for animals- but that of course
is only MY opinion

so to answer the question...
we all have different moral and ethical beliefs
I could not eat meat in my world
it does not match my beliefs
does it make me better than anyone else
of course not-
but it does make me true to myself

God's existence
Posted: 11/23/2009 11:15:53 PM

The way I see it is, you have nothing to lose in believing that God exists. If your wrong, well, you'll just disappear or what ever happens when you die. If your right, then you'll be glad that you believed.

so you're a believer- just in case..
geez
your sincerity is blinding

In my experience, atheists tend to be rather negative people.

don't know who you hang around with
but the atheists that I know are anything but negative

I don't believe in god
but when I die,
if I discover there is one
I imagine my reaction will be along the lines of...
oops...so you're that wizard behind the curtain
and that should be the end of it

hopefully, he won't be the christian interpretation of god
I hear he doesn't take rejection well-

Veterans Make Up One in Four Homeless People in the United States
Posted: 11/23/2009 10:55:13 PM

It's despicable for anyone to even insinuate that our Vets don't deserve to get care and it's despicable to stand back and say that all Vets can get care when you know damn well that many are being turned away.

as a mother of a vet
and one that is homeless, but 4500 miles away from me
I want to thank you for your post-

some of the problems I have had trying to help my son
is that since he is of age
I have no way of helping him get the help that he needs-

if he could get help on his own
he wouldn't be homeless
it's a catch 22
people expecting him to do what they tell him to, sign this, call there-
but that's just it,
he can't...
and they act like he just won't...

according to Amnesty International:

credibility of AI = 0

and your issue with Amnesty International is???

according to Amnesty Internation:
Israel uses more than 80 per cent of the water source in Israel and only allows Palestinian access to 20 percent
some 180,000-200,000 Palestinians living in rural communities have no access to running water and the Israeli army often prevents them from even collecting rainwater
in contrast, Israeli settlers, who live in the West Bank in violation of international law, have intensive-irrigation farms, lush gardens and swimming pools

so are you disputing what ?
their findings
or just the organization itself...

in either case- you have brought nothing to the discussion

So it is Ronald Reagans fault for those who contracted AIDS during his term? I guess you think that they had no responsiblility in their own actions then............... right? And there was no public outcry about AIDS during that period? That is true only if you lived on the moon or mars.

AIDS was first recognized as a major health problem in 1981, but Regan never spoke publicly about AIDS until 1987, by that time there were almost 60,000 cases of AIDS and almost 28,000 had died, for 7 years he did nothing to fund AIDS research or inform the public, at that time, most of the public didn't understand what AIDS was, how it was transmitted or how to prevent it-

what Reagan did should find him a warm place in your idea of hell-
he was a homophobic azzhole

oh lilith Please spare us with your inconsistencies!

we cannot forget the Reagan legacy on AIDS, since he believed that it was god's punishment to gays, he chose to ignore informing the public about AIDS and funding research, so thousands were allowed to contract the disease and die

the Reagan administration did nothing to combat AIDS-

My sources are medical studies, records, etc,I saw decades ago,and don't have at my fingertips at the moment. Do you have every news article, book, etc, you read 30+ years ago?

no sir, I don't, but if I am trying to support my view on a subject, I don't use memories of what I read in articles up to 30 years ago, I quote up-to-date research-

The AAP totally ignores any studies which do not pertain to children.

did you pull this out of your azs? YOU know for a fact that the AAP ignored studies that do not pertain to children- HOW do YOU know this?

Your AAP source does NOT say that circumcision is detrimental to the current well being of the child...does it?

they say: "there are potential benefits and RISKS"

The American Academy of Pediatrics is concerned with pediatrics...children, and-by their own admision-are focused upon "THE CHILD'S CURRENT WELL BEING"...that , in this case, of an 8 day old child.

so, you are saying that the AAP is so near sighted that when they speak of a child's "current well being" that they are only focused on a child only up to 8 days- and don't consider the impact of what is done to that child and the affect it will have on him when he turns becomes a man- GET REAL

acuddler- what are your sources?
what you have are opinions only-

funny no one responded to my comment that the American Academy of Pediatrics writes:

"Existing scientific evidence demonstrates potential medical benefits of newborn male circumcision; however, these data are not sufficient to recommend routine neonatal circumcision. In circumstances in which there are potential benefits and risks, yet the procedure is not essential to the child's current well-being, parents should determine what is in the best interest of the child. To make an informed choice, parents of all male infants should be given accurate and unbiased information and be provided the opportunity to discuss this decision. If a decision for circumcision is made, procedural analgesia should be provided."...

Does Biblical matrimony need a women's liberation revision?
Posted: 11/16/2009 11:41:44 PM

God gave women many important tasks throughout the bible

and let me guess
they were all of a domestic nature-

monalee...
the christian church treats women as 2nd class citizens-
can we be priests
how about pope
can we be ordained without half of the congregation threatening to leave the church (epicopalians)
can we enter a morman temple
can we practice birth control without the church thinking they can make that decision for us

a woman's primary role in the church is to rear kids and to "obey" her husband
her role in the church itself..
to dust the altar

equality?
I don't think so-

Of course it's for medical reasons. Do you think OBGyns are have penis fetishes? Good grief. No wonder your family is pissed. But if it's simply because of tradition Of course it's a tradition - FOR HEALTH REASONS.

for every medical reason to have a boy circumsized
there is a medical reason not to have him circumsized-

the American Academy of Pediatrics writes:
"Existing scientific evidence demonstrates potential medical benefits of newborn male circumcision; however, these data are not sufficient to recommend routine neonatal circumcision. In circumstances in which there are potential benefits and risks, yet the procedure is not essential to the child's current well-being, parents should determine what is in the best interest of the child. Circumsision and its woes.
Posted: 11/14/2009 5:20:34 PM
per Dr. Dean Edell
'Female arousal disorder' blamed on circumcised penises A New Zealand study found that reduced female arousal and fewer female orgasms may be linked to women having sex with circumcised male partners. Women reported they were about twice as likely to experience orgasm if their male partner had a foreskin. Nine out of ten women prefer having sex with intact men, the study finds. "Presence of the movable foreskin makes a difference in foreplay, being more advertisement arousing to the female," the study says. "Most likely, reported vaginal dryness and the related clinical designation `female arousal disorder' is but a normal female response to coitus with a man with an iatrogenically [doctor caused] deficient penis." The foreskin is double-layered. During intercourse, the moist and pliant foreskin rolls past itself massaging the vagina and exciting it more than the 'dry stick' of a circumcised penis. The foreskin keeps the glans moist and soft aiding in foreplay, insertion, and intercourse. Dry or painful sex is the number one sexual complaint of women in the United States. "During intercourse, the skin of an intact penis slides up and down the shaft, stimulating the glans and the nerves of the inner and outer foreskin. On the outstroke, the glans is partially or completely engulfed by the foreskin with more skin remaining inside the vagina than is the case with the circumcised penis. This `valve' mechanism is thought to retain the natural lubrication provided by the female because the bunched up skin acts to block the lubrication escaping from the vagina, which results in dryness." About 70% of American men alive today are circumcised. About 60% of U.S. baby boys are circumcised each year. It is illegal to circumcise girls in the United States."

that says it all for me~

and that he will be found unfit-

that it will be considered ALSO- politically correct
to find him insane-
is just a coincidence

Fort Hood shooting - What are the questions? What are the answers?
Posted: 11/14/2009 4:34:15 PM

That said, Hasan's attorney will probably try to convince the judge/jury that Hasan had 'diminished capacity', and that might just fly.

ah huh
he will be found mentally incapable-
it's all politics-
you condemn him to death-
and guess who will become a martyr?

mental ward- for life-
perfect- politically correct
his sentence will have nothing to do with justice-
it will have everything to do with what will be the politically correct thing to do~

if jesus came down to earth he would have little in common with the christian church -
he would probably become a member of amnesty international and work in a homeless shelter-

in other words, the right would hate him

the christian church would look at him as an embarrassment

Does Biblical matrimony need a women's liberation revision?
Posted: 11/14/2009 3:06:23 PM
so let me get this right, you are asking for what- amendments to the bible or are you going to change the wording of the bible itself to somehow reflect closer the changing mores of our culture concerning the equality of women as far as sex and marriage are concerned, and you think that there is ANY christian group out there that is willing to change the status quo concerning women???

either you, as a christian accept what your church has to offer as its dogma as sister monalee1 says, or, you wise up and realize that the bible is a misogynist book which has for centuries made women into the "slaves" that you yourself recognize

there is no desire to change the views towards women as 2nd class citizens in the christian church, and you know who will fight that from ever happening- women, yes women~

::Depression::

PLEASE do not listen to the above
depression has fvcking nothing to do with "feeding your emotions", "wallowing in self pity" and is NOT something that you "snap out of"
go to a mental health clinic and find a GOOD counselor-
you may or may not need medication- but a counselor is a MUST
also, remember it is becoming darker- winter for a lot of us
is difficult to take-
good luck girl-

I googled -
the "new testament and the subjugation toward women"
and came up with thousands of passages
and picked the one I posted

the closest I get to a bible
is the gideon one
when I travel-
it makes a good door stop
but that's about all it's good for

I see it ,,,,"and we might share some responsibility"

yes, others can share some of the responsibility
when you have other psychiatrists that were his peers
suggest that he may be capable of fratricide and do nothing about it-

that is why he will be found to be insane-
psychotic
too many knew about his poor mental health
and did nothing about it-

crazy names?? yours' is downright offensive.......but if the shoe fits......

kinky**stard
I like your name-

I don't like "put my hands up" as a name..
sounds like someone is robbing her-
maybe they are trying to steal her most valued possession-
her bible
and she is putting her hands up
as she was told to by the robbers

at least with kinky**stard
it's more interesting than picturing someone getting robbed
