How did you lose your first love?

To "someone else." I learned of it in a "Dear John" letter while in Country.

Why do guys give cell phone numbers instead of home numbers ...is that a clue they are taken?
Posted: 1/12/2009 11:23:50 AM
Hey Donna, you know me....used to drive over the road, was never home, so all I have is my cell, couldn't see paying for something I was never home to use, now that I am driving local, just stuck with it, don't get enough calls to see paying for home service....

so where are you people that leave a person confused?
Posted: 12/29/2008 8:01:26 AM
It is a two way street, happens to all of us.
If you don't think about it, it will go away. Maybe the ones disappearing don't have a backbone, but by not thinking about it, there is no guilt associated with it. I would prefer a common courtesy call and being told, but it seems common courtesy is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

Does Our Choice of Pet Reflect Who We Date?
Posted: 12/27/2008 8:48:52 AM
Does getting a puppy say that the age difference doesn't matter? You grow together, learn to adapt to each other.
I have a wolf, not quite a pet, not treated as a pet. I think there is a lot we can learn, as he has allowed me to be a part of the pack. They generally mate for life, and have a strong family core value. He is very friendly, and gives back what he receives, all in how you treat others.

I want to ride on a motorcycle!
Posted: 8/17/2008 4:08:29 PM
If you are just going to approach someone about a ride, see how much experience they have on a bike, if it is their first bike, I would be hesitant to ride with them. You want someone that knows how to ride with a passenger.

Does being old mean you have to be rude?
Posted: 6/21/2008 4:24:17 PM
I am in the age range you speak of, and have two thoughts on the subject:
1. Rudeness can come at any age.

2. If the older men tried to contact you a different way, would you have responded? The way they contacted you got a response, if only in this forum.

I give up my wolf for no one, if he isn't accepted, neither am I. There is a unique relationship that has been time tested, why give that up for something unknown?

The Grass is Greener syndrome
Posted: 10/26/2006 9:29:03 AM
The grass is greener because it has been tended to, nurtured...will you tend the grass on the other side? If you tended your own, there is no need to look on the other side.

Decisions of the heart
Posted: 10/6/2006 3:14:44 PM
I was seperated from my Father for 36 years, not by either ones choice. After we reunited, he asked me to move to be with him. I had been working at a job for over 18 years. It took me almost 3 months to decide, and after the information, experience and logic phase, I followed my gut instinct. I left my job, and moved. I got about 1 1/2 years with him before he passed away. A time I never would have had otherwise. I found out later the place I worked closed down, so would have been out of work, and not had the time with Dad.
Sometimes the choice is already there, we just don't see it.

heard this one
Posted: 4/11/2006 6:36:15 PM
One morning a husband returns to his lake cabin after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with
the lake, his wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book, enjoying the peace and quiet.

Along comes a game warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning Ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?")

"You're in a restricted fishing area," he informs her.

"I'm sorry officer, but I'm not fishing, I'm reading."

"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman.

"But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.

"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment."

"Have a nice day ma'am", and he left .

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.
