Yes the Tall Poppy Syndrome is alive and well in Australia.I have seen it in this Forum.The old Story many times of those who"s lives are lacking,attacking a sucessful person to make themselves feel better.Sadly they never seem to think,"How about, we strive to get up to that Sucessful Persons level"but rather "Lets do our best to pull that Sucessful Person back down to our level"

I am proud that I made it!!!I am proud that no matter how tough it got I got back up and stood Proud.I am proud I went the distance and did not go under.I come from a very violent Childhood and I am proud I found the power and Strength to go on, to survive. I am proud that I have now got a second Chance at life and its incredible!!!!

The biggest factor that would cause me to walk would be Issues or Dysfunction.Somebody unwilling to look at or even make an effort to get a handle on relevant issues, would see me walking.

Plenty of Snakes around Home and out in my old Hometown of Lake Cargellico.Sometimes as a Child I can remember having Tea and looking down to see a Snake crossing the Floor{not a Politician}as they would come in through a hole.None of us got bitten but we lost a couple of Dogs and one Horse to Snake bite. The old Uncles had a line of Heelers, that were a third Dingo and they would catch Snakes and I was always wondering how long before they got bitten.We had a few resident Carpet Snakes beautifully marked and very handy at keeping Vermin down.

The first Car I had was a Holden Ute.I have always been a Ute man as far more practical for me.I had the old Ute for 3 Years till waiting one Day at the Lights a Semi lost control.The Semi Started to drive over me and the Ute from behind.Luckily my Dog in the Back saw the Semi coming and bailed out.

I feel its very important to genuinely listen and be there for the Boys.Very important of course is our actions, as we must be genuine and congruent.No good telling a Child one thing verbally then acting in a totally different manner.

The more awareness People have the better about any possible danger.I am all for everything being upfront and out in the open.There are Parents on this Site, who now because of this Post are more aware thus allowing them to be more vigilant and watch over their Children"s safety more effectively!!!!

Whiskey, I am with you on this one!!!Practicality and Safety seem to go out the Window in some cases as far as Home Locations. I as many have have seen, Dwellings basically built with Bush metres away on nearly all Sides. As you would know Whiskey, Things can get bad enough even with a House with plenty of clearance and Space. Getting caught in a Bushfire or racing to save Stock certainly gets the Adrenalin pumping!!!

Montreal Guy, very interesting Topic you started.I was interested in your reference to Children and the Enviroment they are raised in.Very interesting and thought provoking. Yes many Crims,Abusers,Muderers and so on, in many cases use a background of being abused as justification or rationlisation for their actions as Adults.There is more to it than the Enviroment though.I feel Gentics plays a big part and other factors such as Chemical imbalances and Brain Abnormalities. I myself are a good case Study of this Topic.I come from from a very very violent Childhood, but in my case I have gone on to want to help others.I could have possibly gone the other way but did not.Right from early Childhood I knew that inorder to survive I could cope with enormous Pain and Hardship, but was always worried that others would not cope as I could.This set me off racing around trying to save others from any Pain. Not every Abuse Victim by any means becomes an Abuser as an Adult.I had all the Abusive background to go onto to become a Crim or Abuser but did not.I have not factors to battle with such as Abornmalities in any way and I guess the reason why today I am well adjusted is Genetics and Therapy.

I remember riding the Horse to School.The first Farm was only 5 Miles out of Town,so I would ride into Town and leave the Horse in Grandmothers Backyard.Then walk two Blocks to School.

The other Day on a Bus,a Lady only had a Fifty Dollar Note and the Bus Driver could not change it.The Lady was concerned about not being able to pay her Fare,so I paid it for her.How did it make me feel?It made me feel happy that in a little way I made another Person"s Day a little Brighter. The Movie which is based on a true Story really inspires me and touches me!!!A Nine year old Boy, from a disadvantaged background took Action that touched thousands of lives Globally!!!One little Boy despite personal hardship rose up and touched the World,one little Boy reached out and set such a beautiful example for all and one little Boy who made his mark on this World. How will you make your mark on this World?

As a Child, I did lie for Self Preservation.I was brought up in an Enviroment where no matter how tough it was or if you got hurt, you never let on. Letting on I got hurt only brought harsh consequences so it was safer to keep quite.

People that live their Lives by Horoscopes and so on are looking outside themselves for Answers and many times its to do with a lack of Faith in the Self. I do believe there is a greater power in the Universe.That Greater Power will help me, but I must still help Myself.The More incontrol of our Lives we are, the greater our self esteem is. Passing Control in a major way, to things likes Horoscopes and so on robs us of taking Responsibility for our own Lives. Once we take full responsibility for own our Lives, then things happen and combined with taking Action our Lives start to become what we want.

Petal,there seems to be a little Denial running here.I would assume you have not talked to this Married Woman?You are of course only getting his side of the Story.You already know this Guy is capable of Dishonesty so will his Story be Truthful?No of course not!!!!the Guy is wanting to paint the Picture of the Married Woman doing all the Pursuing.Why?So that he appears less guilty in your Eyes. When you mention you were unfaithful in your early Days, was that prior to this Guy? Petal, one thing to think about also is that this is one Affair he has been caught out in, but what about those you have not discovered? Petal, in some cases People due to their own Issues have to have somebody to feel whole.I hope your not saddled with that.Sometimes People are much better on their own rather than putting up with the Behaviour of a Rat. Maybe do some reading on Codependency.

The Moon will not always stay behind the Cloud, was a saying that 16 year old Atefah Sahaaleh used.Atefah was the Girl featured on "Four Corners". I find the English right now totally inadequate to describe my feelings about what was done to this Girl!!!The closest I came find but not strong enough are Repulsion,Disgust,Anger. Atefah was hung aged 16 in Iran.Atefah was hung for having Sex outside Marriage. Atefah"s life has been one of Sadness and Abuse,losing her Mother very early to a Car Accident and her Father was a Drug Addict. I am having alot of trouble typing this, as I just cannot express how disgusted and angry I am that anybody could do this to a Child.what a sick,pathetic mob of Murdering Bast**ds!!!!Animals behave better then the filthy creatures that murdered this young girl!!!!! I was just wondering if anybody remembers the old Dad and Dave Movies derived from "On Our Selection" by Steele Rudd.they were old Black and White Movies. About an Hour up the Road from us at Gundagi,where the Dog sits on the Tuckerbox there are Statues of Dad,Dave,Mum and Mabel.The Statues like the Dog have become quite a Tourist Attraction at Snake Gully.

Good ol Ballroom dancing!!!I remember it well from Primary School.We used to walk from School at the top of Town, down to the Prestigous Lake Cargellico Memorial Hall where we would practise.

Tonight on Sixty Minutes is the Story of Oxana Malaya.Oxana was basically brought up by Dogs from the age of Three till Eight.The Story is one of Abuse,Neglect and Total Abandonment.this is an old Story now as Oxana is now 23 years old, but it"s interesting to see where she is up to now development wise. I have been interested lately, in a spate of big Cat type Sightings in the Media.The sightings have occurred in areas of Scrub,Rainforest,Bush so on.I have no problem about these Sightings and keep an open mind about it.I am not talking about supposed Sightings of Lions,Tigers or Panthers escaping from Zoo"s or Circuse"s. Many People I know in remote or Dense Vegetation Areas have spoken for many years about a marsupial type Cat.Many of the Aboriginal Tribes all had their own word for this Cat.We are not talking Feral Cats here but a much bigger Animal altogether. The Cat creature Talked about by Farmers,Stockmen,Aboriginal People,Logtruck Drivers and so on has been seen to be about a little bigger than a typical German Shepard.Some of the People that sighted this Animal talked of Stripes on the back and Rump.There have been Photos taken in Dense Bush areas,where an Animal has been sharpening its Claws high up the Trunk of a Tree.Much much too high for any Feral Cat.Prints were found at the base of the Tree, indicating the Animal had stood on its back Legs and reached up the Trunk with its front Legs. There was an incident in North Queensland,where a Stockman lost three dogs.These three Dogs had been been used for Bull Catching and were big strong, tough Dogs used to handling big Mad Scrubbers.The Dogs had gone ahead of the Stockman into very dense Bush.The Stockman heard the Dogs in the Distance barking and growling, then some yelps.The Stockman heard a strange sound like a roar, which was totally unknown to him.Upon fighting his way through the thick Bush,the Stockman found all three Dogs disembowelled.Going back in Daylight,the same tracks were found as had been found at the Claw marks on Trees.

One would have thought that an Age Limit would have been set on the Baby Bonus,right from the onset. The Program on Television highlighted the effect,the Baby Bonus has had on Walgett.The Large number of Children falling Pregnant is one problem of many Communities like this face.Unemployment,Drought,poor Eductainional facilities,Lack of Recreational Pursuits for Teenagers,Boredom,High Crime Rate,Drugs,Petrol Sniffing,Abuse and other Problem areas are rampant. Inorder to stop situations like this happening,these Children need to be given infrastructure,opportunitys and guidance that will bring to them,a sense of hope and control.The Children in this story see it all as hopeless, so the Baby Bonus to them is one way of getting their hands on some money.Despair and Hopelessness breeds Desperation. I would fear the end result of this Fiasco.the End result sadly may well be some of this Children dying in Childbirth and the Baby"s that survive have a big chance of becoming Abuse Victims.

Yes there may be some Males that have had a bad experience and their Fear and or Paranoia is causing them to irrationally generalise about Women.These Males will not have to worry about any so called Gold Diggers as their Generalising will keep all Women at Bay.this is just one more example where Generalisations are destructive. Myself personally,I could not care less if somebody asks me what I do.Asking the other person what they do,is part of the normal "Getting to know you" process.Finding out what another Person does,also gives some insight into the other Person. I have much bigger Fish to fry,than worry about trivialities.I think if a Person cannot be upfront about what they do,are they Ashamed?,are they doing something illegal?do they fear not being understood? I have no problem at all being asked and would find it unusual if I was not asked.

Out of respect for the Little Angel,that sadly lost her Life I will not post what I found out by going to the Locals.There are no winners in this situation!!!!Everybody has lost. Itsmango,its called exploitation.The only options at the Moment really are An LPG conversion or if you have a Diesel make your own Bio-Diesel.The last option of course is not practical for many.

You won"t get any WTF from me!!!!Rural Girl look at it this way.The fakes are weeded out in the international sections and the same will happen to our section.There is no secret Police force operating!!!! Look at things this way.Genuine People do not want to spend time talking to a fake or somebody"s creation!!!People want to talk to a real Person and not be lied to, or led up the Garden Path. I am sure the Site Owner is not infavor of Fakes either!!!!This Site is free of course to us, but there is quite a Buisness behind this Site.The Bigger the Numbers on this Site the Better for the Owner.Keep People happy and they will stay but let the Site become full of Fakes and People will leave. I do not know what"s going on,but let me state that I am all for Fakes being exposed and gotten rid of or deleted!!!!Genuine people do not need to be given the runabout by fakes. Clearly People creating False Profiles,False Characters in the majority of cases have Issues they need to look at.
