Long hair or short hair on a man. Which do you prefer and why?

Regarding short hair (my permanent state, but not by choice) I have been told that it depends on the shape of the head that it's "not" on. Apparently round is good, pointy is bad.

In any case, the point is moot for me.

One thing's for sure, in the shower, and I snap my head to one side, it's dry and I'm good to go....lol.

Canada: Loses First Female Soldier in Afghanitan

Man or woman, it is a tragedy that they are lost. Please honour their sacrifice, for they acted in the highest of their own personal morals. Whatever you think of the government that sent them (we did elect them, either with our votes or our lack of involvement), honour the men and women.

When I see the work being done by the Canadians, our sons and daughters, I cannot help but be proud. When you see the WAY we do it, doubly so.

I'll probably attract some flames for this, but I don't care. This is how I feel.

when a man has to pay child support, do you think he should be entitled to receits, so he knows that

The question begs to be asked, if the receipts didn't show that the money was "well spent" (whatever that means), what would be proposed be done about it? Does the one who pays expect something? A rebate? A reduction?

Sorry folks, been there, got through it. I paid both spousal and child support for many years (not as many as some, I'll grant) but my boys decided to come live with me as they got older (around 18 and up). She was doing a great job with them, to be honest, but they didn't like her approach to things so they live with me now. Regardless, I can't say that the money was ever at issue, per se. I know how much it costs for rent/mortgage, food, clothes..... I always have.

Let the money go as it must, and let life move on as it must. Don't get the two all mixed together. It just screws things up, starting with the kids. Be involved with them, let them know you love them (not by telling them how much money you give) and they will draw their own conclusions....in their own time.

Virgo here too. 230862....heh

Right on the cusp with Leo, by mere hours. Funnily enough, I had to "lie" to POF by putting in the 24th to get it to say Virgo. I see that alot in Astrology publications. Weird. In my case, since I was born in the UK, those few hours make the difference. Now, I don't put too fine a line on this, since it's all rather....umm...imprecise....but there certainly is a thread of truth to these things. I've seen it in Virgo's and particularly in Gemini's. I can't say that I've noticed it in so many other signs.

Anyway.....put me on the list.

Mt. Nemo

Desire burns
But does not consume
It smoulders
Embers glowing white
Pushing away the shadows cast upon my heart
Hardening the resolve to take this moment to the edge of discovery
Hoping the heart can make the leap of it’s own accord
To soar skywards, riding on waves of you.

That Which Resides

Locked deep within lies the only truth.
A mere shadow on the facade of my existence.
It whisks across for a fleeting moment that few see.
Honesty and respect to all but me.

Along comes one that peers inside for a moment
and asks 'are you alright?'
Of course I am, the patent reply,
I survive.

Reflections circle and constrict,
shedding no light.
Only questions result from introspection.
Angst.
Anger.
Fight.
Or flight?

Yet, freedom demands respect.
To be unbound.
To find that within.
Uncovering the truth.

Release and witness the only needs of a soul.
Basking in the luminance of kindred eyes,
feeding upon quiet understanding,
emerges the freedom to fly.

Ending Relationships
Posted: 3/11/2006 6:07:17 PM
Last time it was a phone call asking to sit down and talk about 'stuff' that ended in a teary living room conversation. I've been lucky, I suppose, that the relationships that I've exited (maybe equal for who dropped who), that they have all been peaceful and amicable. Heck, I still talk regularly with my ex-wife and she still tries to sell me a car each time (cos that's what she does....not cos she's wierd...lol).

I did have to break up once over the phone, since she was in New Zealand and I'm a Canuck. Hell, we weren't even in the same season when we split up...

Returned

I found what you left me, today.
It stared at me.
I blinked back.

I found what you left me, today.
Memories encased.
Gold facets worn.

I found what you left me, today.
Plunged deep,
square in my back.

I found what you left me, today.
It slapped me,
heartless and torn.

I found what you left me, today.
And I cried.

In You Come

Space reserved
at the ready
willing to accept
awaiting your return.

Damn I'm stupid.

Don't I know,
can't I see
breathless anticipation
hushes my fears

Laying me open
defenceless to your attack
armour removed
I welcome you back.

You slip effortlessly through the crack,
once again perching
on the chambers
of my heart.

Damn I'm stupid.

Not sure how to jump on this merry-go-round (first time posting), but used to share on an old chat site calle Virtual Places a few years ago. Anyway....

Snowflakes On Your Sleeve

On this crisp winter's night,
silken blankets drape the landscape,
absorbing each step
with muted staccato groans
as you wander about
in the moon's reflected light.

The echo's of the seasons
ring clear in your mind.
Nature's sleepy renewal
seems to pause time.

Crystalline breezes stroke your face.
Glittering fields whirl and dance,
the only tenants in the darkness,
of this solemn place.

A few icy minstrels,
welcome you with their attraction.
Clinging to hair,
arms and legs,
their visit,
a pleasant distraction.

As you pass through this time and space,
lessons of existence quietly state their case,
paused for a moment to let your perceive,
the reflections of nature's beauty,
to be found,
in the snowflakes on your sleeve.
