H1N1 vaccine. Are you getting a shot?
Posted: 10/31/2009 11:08:04 AM
I've had the seasonal 'flu shot in half doses for about 8 years. Half doses because I'm so sensitive to meds. I also have an auto-immune condition.

I've haven't decided yet about the H1N1. It's the aduvant in it that concerns me. I do not need my immune system boosted. At the moment my feeling are to get the unaduvanted shot. I'm also wondering about the side-affects of that shot given my history. *sigh*

Who watches Coronation Street ?

I tape it every Sunday, then watch bit by bit during the week when there's nothing else on. I absolutely love it! Brought up not far from there.

Can you re-take the Personality test?
Posted: 6/11/2007 7:07:03 PM
Hi Don: That's my question also. I also rushed through it. Didn't know about the 'impact' at that time.

Also I would like to know if somebody reading my profile, can also read my personality test? I haven't been able to see that on profiles?

Thank yo for any help! Anybody!

Does dancing tell alot about a person?

My Oxford dictionary describes "classy" as "superior". That is apparently how you see yourself.

IMO the reference of "classy" implies "common". In the UK, where I grew up, well-bred, truly refined people would never use that word to describe anything. I apologise if you felt it as a personal attack. That was not the intention.

Clearly, you are not "common", and have excellent diction.

Thank you for reading my profile. If you wish to make derogatory comments, that's your choice!

Methinks you are much too big for your boots.......you say you are "classy" (previously read). "Classy" is not refinement, and cannot ever hope to be. "Classy" is a practiced behavious, shallow, and quick to disappear when 'real life' begins.

And yes I can dance, and well. I believe you do yourself no good, and sadly, do others an disservice. Mature, well-mannered men do not need your advice regarding ballroom etiquette. There's a world of difference between refinement, good manners and "classy".

To the other men participating in this thread--please take GG comments with a handful of salt. He is not the salt of the earth, and I do believe that you all can go the distance, either across the dance floor or around the garden.

having children at 38.......
Posted: 8/26/2006 10:14:09 PM
I had a son at age 38. I felt wonderful.....38 was just a number!

If you want that, I hope you achieve it. Y'know...parenting is not easy, but when you look into a face so like your own, but is it's own person........that's special.

If you had to go away for a long time (6 months or more), what sights and sounds and smells about your home 'hearth' so to speak, would you long for? What couldn't you indefinitely live without?

What would you say to your 20 year old self?
Posted: 7/3/2006 9:42:12 PM
I'd say:

Get the best education you can. Follow your OWN dreams for a career. Do what you love. Be careful. Get RRSP's! Be independent in life and in your thinking. Know you are loved. Respect and care for all people, and living things. Expect good stuff, but be prepared to manage the no-so-good. Be conscientious, be true to those who deserve it. Cherish beauty.

Friends!

Why can't men just be friends? I don't really understand that because there are many, many women out there who want more! So why message somebody who says they don't? I'd just like a "pal", "friend", a person who must love animals. No, I'm not gay......but no offence at all to those who are.

I'm not looking at all for a psychological work-up, or a counsellor of any sort. I'm just looking for a friend, for a walk, cup of tea maybe. I love to have a man's opinion, view of things, but their minds don't seem to be on developing any sort of relationship other than long-term, or dating! Surely, not all are alike?

Am I so strange? People message me and point out other things, or request them! My profile is very honest and has no hidden message.... have a great sense of the ridiculous, love humour, maybe look at things differently. Maybe I'm just old
