Should I warn the new woman?
Posted:
2/22/2007 12:13:17 AM
I can't be bothered to read all four pages (sorry, but it's after midnight!) so i don't know what everyone has put as a response. I did see some saying to be careful, he will/may find and cause more harm to you and maybe consider a third party.
What about using "secretmessage.com"? I've never used it but it would be a way to pass the information on to the new gf.
Glad to hear that you are no longer in that situation! You're too good for that!!

Ahhh darlin, this is a horrible feeling. I was engaged to someone and he broke my heart very badly. He then went on, got engaged, got married, and now two years later, his wife is pregnant. When i heard this last bit, all i could think of was "ouch".
It does get better though. Keep your chin up!

If you are uncomfortable with asking him his age, take a look at his licence, or his id, or his passport. There will be something in his wallet that gives his age.

Why do so many misrepresent themselves on dating sites?
Posted:
2/18/2007 9:40:07 PM
I often wonder why people would bother misrepresent themselves. Makes no sense. Do we really do this when we meet someone??? My profile i think describes a teeny bit of me fairly accurately and i can tell you that each of my pics are from the last year, and most of them are actually from the last four months.

Is oral sex cheating?

If the guy i'm dating is receiving or giving oral sex, i'd kick his a$$ and then tell him to leave.
Cheating is cheating, and it's the fastest way for me to get over someone...

February 15th
Posted:
2/12/2007 9:17:42 PM
I personally can't stand V Day, but then again, ask me when i'm with someone i care about...then i do like it. Unfortunately, V Day has become a Hallmark day and one that i think is all about making money. Men, have you ever noticed how much a dozen roses goes for on V Day compared to any other day of the year?? It's ridiculous.
As for the day-after-V-Day-breakup...i had a friend who's bf broke it off with her on the 15th. The crappy thing was that it fell on a Sunday so there were no liquor stores open to buy something stronger than beer, and i called in to work saying my grandmother had had a heart attack (that was the only time i used that excuse) and spent the day with her.
Never a good day, but i try not to pay too much attention to it.
Just my two cents.
Happy V Day everyone!

What Do You Think Of A Girl Friend Who Stays in Touch With Ex Lovers On a Regular Basis?
Posted:
2/12/2007 9:11:54 PM
I had an ex that stayed in touch with one of his ex's and used to drive me up the wall!! I actually had a really hard time with it, but part of it might have been because she hurt him really badly and i was there to see it.
On the other hand, i'm now friends with an ex, but he was someone that i dated over ten years ago, and i'm not that close with him, just someone who i see once a month or so, probably more like once every two months.
Does this make my hypocritical? I don't know. I know that my ex was more in touch with his ex than i am with mine...hmm, interesting predicament...
But for the OP, your gf should NOT be sharing intimate details of your relationship with her ex, that's just wrong.
Just my two cents.

Chile Cheese Dip ~ Help!!
Posted:
2/12/2007 2:25:11 PM
Because i was sick all weekend, i never got to try my recipe but here is the one that i lost and found:
Spicy Cheese Dip
INGREDIENTS:
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 cup picante sauce
1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese
4 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese
dash paprika
1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chile peppers
dash Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
tortilla chips
PREPARATION:
Sauté onion in butter until tender. Add picante sauce and stir. Gradually add the cream cheese and shredded cheese. Stir in paprika, peppers, Worcestershire sauce, and salt; continue cooking and stirring until cheese is melted and mixture is well blended. Adjust seasonings to taste. Serve as a dip with tortilla chips. Keep warm in crockpot or chafing dish, if desired. Makes about 2 cups.
If someone makes this (before i do), let me know how it works out!! I think this would be super tasty!! And when i make it, i will let you all know how it worked out!!
PS, i've saved it in my Favorites on my computer. :p

that way by kissing her cheek first and moving towards her mouth, she knows whats coming, so if she doesn't want you to, she has the opportunity to avoid it it the time isn't right.
so true!! still makes me laugh though!!

engaged after only a few months
Posted:
2/11/2007 11:58:56 PM
This is such a debatable topic. Everyone and every relationship is different. I was with my ex for four years before we got engaged, moved in together and split up four months after getting egaged and moving in. I have since made a vow that i will never live with someone again until the day i get married. This isn't saying that i won't stay with him or have him stay with me for endless amounts of time, but i am keeping my own place until the wedding actually happens (ok, so that was a bit of a side story...sorry).
I want to get married, but i'm in no rush. Someone else said that he hoped he would be so lucky as to see the person and just know...i feel the same way.
And it can take a long time to know the person you are with. I just heard a horror story tonight about a friend's gf who left her husband and was held down on the ground with her children in the room...she had been with him for close to 15 years...

Chile Cheese Dip ~ Help!!
Posted:
2/8/2007 3:59:58 PM
Ok, i have resorted to asking other people for help in my quest for a good chile cheese dip. I had one that i found and wrote out, but as luck would have it, i've lost it and need it for Saturday night!!
Does anyone know of a recipe that does not have any meat (i'm a vegetarian), and does not use Valveeta (can't stand it, sorry, i know lots of people do!) or tomatoes?
I can't believe i lost it (if i weren't sick, i'm sure i could find is, but i am sick so...) and i can't believe i didn't save the link on my computer!! What was i thinking?????
Does anyone have anyone a recipe that sounds like what i'm looking for??? I'm starting to look like this guy ~>
and it doesn't feel so good...
Thanks.

do we rate ourselves higher than others do us?
Posted:

I agree with countrypeach. It's the whole package. I dated what i thought was a 9 1/2, but later learned he was more of a 2 (I know that sounds really evil).
Besides, aren't we taught that beauty is skin deep and it's what is on the inside that counts?? To be honest, the last few guys i have dated, i've gotten to know them first and then once i've been with them awhile, they become much better looking to me (they tend to start off as "nice looking", not "hot" or "good looking").
Don't get me wrong, there are definately some lookers that make me turn my head twice, but i can't be bothered with someone who believes he is god's gift to women. Total turn off.
Just my two cents.

Ok, that is definately bad timing. The post above has a very good point, our minds do funny things to us, and if someone is related to a painful past, may not make for a great relationship - unless the pain has been dealt with.
And yes, the person being asked will set the tone.
Good luck BCO.

my best friend is five years younger than me but when we go out, people think it's the other way around b/c she ways a lot of makeup.
i used to wear a lot when i was a teen, but over the last few years, i've learned that i don't need as much.
i will definately use more makeup when i go out at night, but it's not that much more...

What is considered "bad timing"? I've had a couple of relationships that would have been great but the timing was wrong, there was great chemistry and got along so well, but we both weren't on the same page...if we had met at a different time, it might have worked better.

meat-eaters, would you date a vegetarian
Posted:
1/15/2007 10:55:14 PM
So i have just found this thread, and thought it could be revived just because of all of the interesting arguments going around and around.
To answer the original question, i would date a meat eater (being a vegetarian myself) and in fact, i was with one for six years. There was never an issue with us eating what we wanted. In fact, there were times when we would be out for dinner and he would say that he didn't know what he wanted to eat...and i would suggest he get a steak...
And tofurkey is disgusting (sorry to the person who enjoys it...i've tried it a couple of times, still tastes like cardboard to me...but that's my personal opinion).
For the record, there are many vegetarians out there who are not going to harp and preach on others for their lifestyle choices. Don't push your beliefs on me, and i will respect you not to push my beliefs on you. To each their own.
I could keep going on, but i've already put in my two cents.

Posted:

It doesn't matter to me at all. Someone's age just reflects the year they were born in:) I've dated 6 years younger and 10 years older, equally as good. It's refreshing to see that not all people aren't hung up on someone's age!
Good luck to you all!

Posted:

I know how to cook, but i don't really do any "good" cooking for myself. I just think "why bother, it's only me", but when i have someone over for dinner, i will make an awesome dinner!! I do once in awhile like to cook...
But if you were to ask me about baking...can't do it worth a damn...i burn chocolate chip cookies everytime i try to make them. My solution: go home for dinner and ask Mom to make some (and i get some good home cooking at the same time!!)

going back to the death penalty, i'm not sure this is the right option for anything. i'm not saying it's right or wrong, but who's to say who we can convict and who we can't!?!?!?! just because someone takes the life of one person (or child), does that mean we have the right to sentance someone to death? Two wrongs do not make a right.
as for Karr, i don't know one way or the other if he is telling the truth, and as i said before, let's see the DNA evidence...

This is something that i have thought about, but never really discussed with anyone. I think i would prefer to be cremated and sprinkled in some water. Either looking out from the pier at Waterfront Park or at my grandparent's cabin on the lake outside of Edmonton. One of the things that i love about Vancouver, is walking around seeing the park benches that have been placed in memory of someone. I think it's beautiful!!
And i grew up in North Vancouver and never even knew about the cemetary behind the old Coach House...now i'm morbidly curious...

Justice at last for Jonbenet Ramsey?
Posted:
8/17/2006 11:28:19 AM
I find this to be a terribly sad situation. Ten years ago the parents are blamed, brother is blamed, Patsy dies (which i didn't know until reading the articles online), and now someone else is confessing???
The whole thing seems incredibly fishy, but what are we, the public, supposed to believe?
One thing i think that is driving me a little crazy, is how the public are getting mad at the media. I took a media relations course last semester, and while the media seems to glorify what happens in the world, they are only getting information that the public asks for!!
Jump on a band wagon, jump off it, but for gawd sake's, why don't we wait to get a little more information before hanging someone. The one thing that i am really interested in is whether or not his DNA matches the DNA found under JonBenet's nails and in her underwear.
The other thing to consider, is how is Boulder, Colorado supposed to find an impartial jury...
As for the whole thing about paegants, someone made a very good point that if no one went, watched, reported on, they would die away. Even at 18 (which i was at the time of JonBenet's death), i still thought it was wrong to dress these little girls up as little women, but people will do what they want, and if the child expressses SOME interest, then parents will encourage it.
There are always three sides to the story: yours, mine, and the truth.
Just my two cents...

It was definately dusty...at one point in time, ok, i lie, the whole weekend, i had what i called "nappy, dusty Merritt hair", oh and i had half of Merritt in my nose!!!
There are definately a million and one stories i could share, but the people i was with said that "what happens in Merritt, stays in Merritt", so for the most part, i have kept quiet...although there have been a few stories that have slipped, but there are some that i will go to my grave with!!

i don't know how many times my cat has come tearing into my apartment from outside, run through the living room, into the bedroom and back into the living room to only stop mid way, jump and do a cartwheel for whatever unknown reason...and this is without catnip (she hates the stuff).
there was one time where i was having a bath and my ex's cat came to sit on the edge of the tub to see what was going on and got distracted by the bubbles. he decided to start playing with them and there was one particularly large one that he wanted that was just a little bit out of his reach. she was one determined little kitty though...he had to have that bubble...he almost pops it, when he slips, into the tub, and starts freaking out because now he is soaked and can't get out. needless to say, i got scratched to sh*t, but hadn't laughed like that in so long. poor little thing...it didn't stop him from playing with the bubbles next time though, he just knew not to reach too far...

hey nvanlonley, can you post the place that you found on the north shore? i would love to check it out...
i go up and down: some days i want to quit, and other days i don't. i've talked to my doc about zyban and think that i might go get a prescription for that by the end of the summer...i'm just not enjoying smoking as much as i did before, but ask me again in a few weeks, and i may have changed my mind again...
