"Greed is good. Greed works." -- Wall Street

"Money won is twice as sweet as money earned." -- The Color of Money

"First you get the money. Then you get the power. Then you get the women." -- Scarface

"Can you dig it? I knew that you could." Uma Thurmond wittily quotes the line in Pulp Fiction to John Travolta who first expresed it in Saturday Night fever.

Is that show still on? I thought it had already been cancelled.

Do not be afraid of any man
No matter what his size
Just call on me in time of need
And I will equalize.

why love?
Posted: 3/11/2006 4:40:37 PM
Actually, I was paraphrasing Fancois La Rochefoucauld's famous 17th century epigram ["No one would ever have fallen in love unless he had first read it in a book."].

Did it ever occur to you that only a man who had fallen in love plenty of times would memorize that cynical maxim?

No one would ever have fallen in love unless they had first seen it on a goddamn television show.

Is Horror Fiction Dead?

I think our ability to correctly identify monsters is what's really dead.

What book are you reading right now?
Posted: 3/8/2006 2:50:03 PM
I'm re-reading Camille Paglia's "Sexual Personae." Everyone who has an interest in art, literature and culture should read her expert, brilliant, reassessment.

What book has had the greatest impact on you?

"Beyond Good and Evil" by Friedrich Nietzsche. It's one of the few books about philosophy that can be applied to everyday life and thought.

Has anyone made a point of dating tall women?
Posted: 3/8/2006 2:30:04 PM
I have. Since college, my preference has been taller women. I won't date any woman under 5' 8". Well, maybe Jennifer Lopez. Maybe. By the way, I'm 5' 6".

Men don't like TALL women
Posted: 3/7/2006 1:41:33 PM
I think taller women are greatly prized, especially among shorter men. Personally, I've never felt intimidated by a taller women. Well, not since high school. I don't know if this is applicable, but there is an unspoken, almost illicit attraction between taller women and shorter men. I'm serious. Most tall women, I know, prefer tall men. But there is a percentage of tall ladies who are absolutely crazy about shorter men. Trust me.
