Why do all guys over 50 have facial hair?
Posted:

I can't get past the facial hair very often. There are just a few guys that I think it looks good on...............like Tim McGraw. lol But I think the facial hair ages a guy. I usually don't even like the mustaches. Just seems too scratchy!

Expain the phrase My children are my top priority?

Yep, probably have to have children to understand that comment. I actually admire guys that say that and I surely understant their thinking. :) Hopefully,, though, that doesn't mean that there is no room for anyone else in their life. It is just like when you have more than 1 child...........just more to love as love has no limits.

Good post Ross, from a man's point of view. You have the right ideas.
The "too nice, boring guys" though.........it probably wasn't just that they were "too nice". It was most likely because the attraction wasn't there in the first place.
If the chemistry is there, there is no "too nice".
So just be yourself and you seem to be doing just that and having a great time.
You're a gem!

JWA & Chester Adams---------I'd bet lots that your social schedule is lacking!
So if any of you sweet, sincere guys on here really are interested in finding someone to have a relationship with you'd be wise to follow her advice. And it is the 1st time I've seen it so posting it again is a good thing. Those of you that don't want to read it....you don't have to! This girl speaks for myself and most of the gals on here with any degree of self-respect.

Great job Meanest Mom! If every Mom loved their kids enough to be that "mean" this world would be alot better place! Your Son will someday understand when he has to be that "mean" to his own kids! It's all done out of unconditional love and concern!

You were being childish to sleep around and get an STD!!!! Don't you know better than that? The rest of the stuff doesn't matter if you were childish or not. Keep the stuff, give it back, throw it away, whatever makes you feel better. But for heaven's sake use common sense and protection along with some sense of pride.

Northern Lights..............I couldn't have said it better. These guys showing their chests, abs, flexing are having the opposite effect of what they are hoping for. Well, unless they are looking for just a good time I guess. They seem narcistic,**** and presumptuous. You are right, if we are interested we'll see them topless soon enough. What do they think would happen if we showed those pics to our guy friends or relatives and asked them what they thought? I guarantee the first thing out of my son's mouths would be "What a F--" and they'd laugh at them. Guys don't have to advertise their bodies to get a date unless that is all they have going for them!

new non smoking laws July 2007
Posted:

Mum 50: We breathe your smoke if you are in the same room with us. We smell like your smoke; our hair, our clothes, even any food we happen to take home tastes and smells like smoke. So smoke your cigareettes if you wish, but in the privacy of your own home. And God Bless anyone living with you that isn't a smoker.

noise pollution, the next smoking issue
Posted:
6/23/2007 6:09:54 PM
Your freedom to smoke is just fine, though I feel sorry for you. But my freedom to not have to breath your smoke is my right too, and all of those who do not want to breathe your smoke or smell like your smoke. Why don't you get that? The smoke actually transfers onto our hair, clothes, into our bodies. We end up smelling like crap actually just being in a room where someone has been smoking. If we take home food from a place where someone has been smoking, it is unedible; it smells like smoke and tastes like smoke. It doesn't matter if you are on one side of the room and a non smoker on the other. It pollutes the air in the entire room. I guess the business owner's can have their business to be either smokers or non-smokers. I'd bet anything the smokers would be very lonely.

I don't have any smoker friends that want me to breathe their crap. How about loss of revenue when the non smokers (outnumbering the smokers by about 85-90%) stop spending money in the establishments that allow smoking?

What makes you think that the non smokers are not concerned about other health and environmental matters? You're an idiot! We don't want to breathe your stinking smoke. Go put yourself in a bubble so you don't permeate public places with your smoke. You do have a right to smoke, just not to inflict it on others.

No, it shouldn't work that way. The smokers should stay out of the public places because their smoke pollutes the entire buildings. Stay home and pollute your own homes. It isn't as though you are in a bubble when you are smoking in public buildings. Your smoke permeates the entire place.
I think if the business owners lost all the non smokers because they allow smoking they would suffer alot more than losing the business of smokers. And most non smokers are going to be around alot longer anyway!
It isn't the same as drinking, the alcohol isn't infesting the other patrons as the smoke does. The drinker isn't pouring liquor down our throats. The smokers are doing the equivalent of that.

Micio.............I don't know if you have kids but I understand why they "stay for the kids". It is a heartbreaking situation but love for your kids comes first. It doesn't lessen the value of love for you. It is just Different! And if the kids are older........they end up siding with the mother and hating the dad. He can't take that. You don't have to like it but you should try to understand.

Fiery gal.........don't beat yourself up over it. You can't help what your heart feels. And no one has the right to look down on you until they've walked in your shoes. The only advice I can give is to take one day at a time. I, too, have been in your situation. But just because you are not together anymore doesn't mean that the love has gone away. It will probably always be there. Hold that in your heart. No one can take away your memories.

I understand exacty what you are saying Virginia. Most of these young guys think we are desperate and want some hot young stud to satisfy us. I always tell them that if that was what I wanted there are plenty around everywhere I go of all ages. I don't have to look on POF for that. Don't think anyone worthwhile having a relationship with is on here just looking to get laid. And if they are, then they are most likely desperate people that never have anyone at all interested in them.
An age difference of about 10 years seems okay especially as you get a little older beyond your twenties.
But you point was: this young bare chested punk wanted to just "show you a good time". Most of them are just wanting to get some weird kicks, thinking that it will make them "all that". They must have real issues and can't get a real girl their age.

Unfortunately, Yes. Not consciously, but you can't tell your heart what to feel or how long to feel it. I'd try to move on but only time would tell if another One would ever come again.

No-interest signals...

I had the same exact relationship with a good guy friend. He even told my friends that he was crazy about me. He knew though that my heart belonged to someone else. The problem was that this other person wasn't available so this good buddy thought he could take the unavailable's place. I truly adored buddy as a friend. I did go to a ball game with him and met him for drinks after work to talk and laugh. He only got kissy and huggy when he had a few too many drinks. Eventually it wore off after a few years and I saw less and less of him. I still consider him one of my best guy friends and we still do talk and hang out once in awhile. So my advice is to just pretend clueless or you will make him uncomfortable and hurt his feelings.
