Horse Racing

I used to watch it all the time when Iw as younger.

But in the past few years I think I've only been out to the track maybe 3 or 4 times in the past several years.

I worked at our local track when I was a kid, so I was pretty infatuated with it when I was younger. But, as life goes on & gets more busy, some things die off & fade to the background.

Now that I am living closer to the track again, maybe I'll get there once or twice this season again.

Hockey Anyone?????

Yup, I don't think they'll let him go either. The Sedins do all the spade work while Carter provides the finish. That line would be pretty impotent without Carter. I do like what I've seen in the developement of the Sedins over the last few years. They provide consistent a work ethic and drive the opposition nuts with their forechecking.

but if his answer to that querie is some other talentless hack like carter, he should be fired, shot & dragged through the streets.

haha...you and I must have been posting at the same time. Out of curiousity, how can you call Carter a "talentless hack" when he was one of the few on that team that provided scoring on a regular basis. That line put the "Big Line" to shame.

well, I dont feel like getting into a 300 paragraph breakdown of it. I've done that too often on the canucks board already.

To summarize: Carter = riding the twins coatails.
He only had 33 goals in a position that he SHOULD have had 50+ in.
Even Wade Brookbank could ahve scored 15-20 on that line.

Carter was a failure but gets lauded like a hero because he stumbled into the lottery.

Just remember (if you dont, you can look it up)

Blair (BJ) McDonald scored 48 goals one year, then wenton to get only 23 more the rest of his career. Why the downfall of such a superstar scorer? Because once he was traded from the Oilers to the canucks, he no longer had Wayne Gretzky feeding him the puck.

See Anson Carter.

Hockey Anyone?????

I am very displeased with nonis again.

After he went & impressed me.....finally...with the Luongo acquisition, he goes out & tanks his very next move by paying Willie Mitchell (a VERY poormans Jay McKee) 3.5M while Jay McKee only got 4M.

Now I'm not saying Jay McKee is WORTH 4M either, the defensemen are getting absurd $$$ right now.....but hes more worth 4M than Mitchell is 3.5M.

If your going to give McKee 4M, Mitchell should AT MOST have gotten 2.75M

Sad really.

Long as he finds someone with some talent to play with the Sedins, I'll say he has redeemed himself atleast, but if his answer to that querie is some other talentless hack like carter, he should be fired, shot & dragged through the streets.

Overlooking phsyical flaws....
Posted: 6/26/2006 1:19:55 AM
pretty much MOST physical imperfections can be overlooked if the person has a terrific personailty.

Some I couldnt look past however are
excessive obesity. Being overweight 5-10, even 20 lbs is one thing. Being 5'3 & weight 215 lbs is quite another.
i've heard the "they cant help it, they have a genetic disorder" etc & that may be true, but with proper excersise & diet, you can keep it to a controllable level. Letting yourself get to that size is just plain laziness & unacceptable.

Same goes for excessively skinny. Being a couple lbs undeweight, hardly the end of the world if your athletic & perhaps have a high metabolism. Beigh 5'10 & weight 90 lbs, NOT acceptable.

A major physically damaging scam/disfigurement. Lets be honest with ourselves here (& anyone claiming otherwords is likely lying or lying). There has to be SOME physical attraction to the personto be interested in them. Its impossible to feel excited or aroused by someone that has some highly noticeable damaging disfigurement. Right?? Right. Having a droopy eyelid, or a missing tooth, hardly the end of the world. Having an entire eye missing, or burns over 80% of the face, a different story.

Outside of that stuff, I think MOST other human flaws are easly overlooked for the right personality.

Watching your wife/partner
Posted: 6/5/2006 3:33:08 AM
I've had two different friends/acquaintances that have done this & both said it was a mental rush that you couldnt buy & have recommended trying it.

One said its the greatest experience hes had & the other guy has said he would love to try it again.

I dont think I would be entire opposed to the idea if I had a partner who wanted to try it...long as some compensation was reciprocated later on ( 3some or she watches a woman do me).....I think I could only actually see myself doing that with someone who I only had a physical attachment to & wasnt overly emotionally attached no problem, but if it were someone I cared deeply about & loved, I would be more hesitant to consider it.

What sports have YOU competed in?
Posted: 3/11/2006 1:52:31 AM
Track & Field.- all thru elementary & high school.
100 M, 200 M, 4X100 M relay & Long Jump.
Was a serious potential contender in the 100 & 200 till I tore my ACL & MCL playing soccer one lunch time.

Soccer- late elementary to early high schol.
Lead my team in goals one season, but for the most part was an average player on an exceptional team. We won 4 straight championships, but I was for the mostpart never one of the top 2 or 3 guys on the team.

Basketball- 1 year in elementary & 2 years in high school.
Never really excelled in it, but like soccer, was surrounded by great teams.

I have played a lot of other sports in a less competitive variety. Floor Hockey, street hockey, tennis, football etc.
