Yes!!
Slow down a bit, if a guy told me he was falling for me after just one date, I'd freak out a little....

Making the most of gym time

I guess I'm lucky, I found a trainer that knows both nutrition and fitness, and she competes in fitness as well. She would never try to take my protein out of my diet, or ask me to do anything that I'm uncomfortable with.
I actually came across her services by accident, and I'm incredibly glad I did!

I've decided im gonna go for it and get plastic surgery what should i get??
Posted:
6/19/2007 7:21:07 PM
Plastic surgery is safe to perfom on anyone 16+ (14+ for females) and im 20.
honey, do your research....where the hell does someone get off on saying that it's ok to perform plastic surgery on someone that young? the doctor i went to would not even THINK about doing it before a person was fully grown, and i'm sorry, but at 14, a chick is not done.......and at 16 neither is a guy.
i finished my growing somewhere around 18....and my boyfriend even later than that, he grew 10 inches late in high school!
perhaps it is different for everyone, but nothing should be done THAT early!!!

i get weird pains in my stomach....but they usually go away pretty quickly....just a quick "surprise!" then it's gone.
it's happened more than once, but i can't figure out why...it's not too much of a pain in the butt so i haven't done anything about it. i will if it happens more often, but it's not really worth it now.

oh my GOD!!!
until YOU know what you want (exactly) then you should not even be considering plastic surgery!!!
do your research, find out what you like the best, and if you're still willing to go for it, then do it.
but don't, i repeat, DON'T go on someone else's opinion.

acuvue for astigmatism was soooooo uncomfortable for me, my eyes were horribly dry after less than four hours of wear.
pure vision was too thick for me, i only got used to them after two weeks of wear. they were good for the most part, but again, my eyes needed drops after 6 hours of wear.
i'm on a third trial pair now, and so far, they're great! i can wear them for the full 12 hours without a problem, and then i usually switch to my glasses anyway. my only issue? they're a bit difficult to get in. *shrugs* i'm sure i'll get past that.

honestly.....
if it's painful to wear the contacts, DON'T WEAR THEM. if you have glasses, use those until your eye doctor determines the cause of your discomfort. i'll be going on my third trial pair of contacts in a few days; my eyes are super sensitive and i have astigmatism. i chucked my first pair within a day; they dried out my eyes and irritated them badly. the second pair i'm wearing now is too thick; i feel them constantly. hopefully i'll be able to wear the third pair without a problem.

personally, i've never had a flu shot and as of right now, i can say that i'll never get one. sure, they'll make you immune to that particular strand of flu, but not without getting you sick first!
so, no thanks, i'll pass.

Finding a dojo in Toronto
Posted:
10/10/2006 6:45:36 PM
i took kempo and loved it! i have my black belt, but it's not for you if you don't want to end up with bruises everyday. ;) also, my school was an hour away from toronto, so that probably wouldn't work for you.
the best thing i can suggest is to research different styles and think about what you would like to do before you go and just look for the school that's close to you. go check out some of the dojos, and speak to the sensei's. make sure you're on the same page with regards to the teaching methods the school has.
take your time! each dojo will be different, and you need to find out what's going to work for you.

smoking is horrible regardless, and people know that. i guess i'm siding with the tobacco companies.....cuz if you're stupid enough to smoke light cigarettes thinking you're making a good decision for your body, well, then, you're just an idiot. end of story.

abdominal fat
Posted:
9/16/2006 4:02:07 PM
walking is not effective at burning fat unless your obese or severely out of shape..
I help people with diet/training everyday, and ive seen what works over and over. Powerwalking works, running works, biking works, but a regular walk doesnt increase your heart rate enough to burn fat at an accelerated pace.
Im not trying to sound like a knowitall Jsacko, but the only way to lose weight is to do it right. A half assed attemp is as good as no attempt at all. Ive helped over a hundred people this year alone, and everyone who was serious about it lost weight by doing what i said. Everyone who wouldnt listen soon gave up.
this is my life, and I dont mean to be an ass, but i only give the absolute truth on fitness, and walking doesnt cut it for fatloss, cardio should be somewhat intense.
i'm going to disagree that walking is not an effecitve method of burning fat. i am not overweight; in fact my bodyfat is below average.
however, i use two methods of cardio: the elliptical machine, and walking on an incline on a treadmill. both are just as effective, as long as my heart rate is in the appropriate range. walking can be and IS a good method of cardio for fat loss.

i work with a guy that has MS, and from what i understand, his wife has been extremely supportive. they do everything together, just him and her.
he's come to work a few times with an IV in his wrist; the pain has been horrible for him and he's still there, pushing through it. on the rare occasion that he doesn't come into work, everyone's concerned about him. he's probably the nicest guy in the dealership.
it would be absolutely horrible to have someone leave due to a health concern that was beyond your control.....

Anemia->Can anyone relate?
Posted:

i have anemia, though not severe enough to need the shots. i'm supposed to take iron supplements, but don't usually.
i'm always tired but push myself through it. on top of the anemia, i also have poor circulation (i pity me when i get older, lol) so i'm always cold as well and can sometimes wear sweaters in the summer - although not when it's over 25 or so.

Why women can not cross eyes with people??
Posted:
8/12/2006 11:24:52 PM
i always make eye contact. period. i've learned that people are less likely to see you as a victim if you do so.
unfortunately, i've come across some less than favourable types, so i try and avoid any sort of confrontation by looking at the person and smiling, so that they know that i know they're there, and they're more hesitant to see me as passive.
yeah, i know this wasn't the direction this was supposed to go, but it's just my experience.

What does it take to make a long distance relationship work?
Posted:
8/6/2006 10:20:46 AM
i was in a long distance relationship for 3 1/2 years. he was in Ottawa, and i was in Barrie.
it takes trust, patience, lots of phone time, occasionally travelling to visit. (with me it was every other weekend.)
then, he moved out here to GP, and i eventually came out here 7 months later. you have to WANT a long distance relationship to work for it to actually be successful.
we've lived together for nearly 2 years now. so, i suppose i'm one of the success stories!

How can I help a lady 'friend' get over her last jerk boyfriend..?
Posted:
8/6/2006 9:41:14 AM
if you're patient, she'll eventually have room in her heart for another person. each person heals differently. i know it would take me more than 2 months to get over my current love if we broke up!
she just lost a huge part of her life, give her time if you really like her, and if you think she likes you. i'm a firm believer in that a person never gets over an ex completely, they simply open up their heart to a new person. she just has to close the part that cares for her ex.

Why should anything besides personality matter?
Posted:
8/6/2006 9:37:04 AM
like said above, personality matters A LOT, but it's not the only aspect of a person!
i don't consider having to be attracted to a person to give them a chance shallow; it's a part of life, and EVERYONE has this requirement. it just depends on what is considered attractive to each individual!

chicken, tuna, oatmeal, cottage cheese, skim milk, tomatos, egg whites, protein powder, green beans or lettuce, and a fruit of choice.
i eat the same thing every day. really the only thing that's different is the fruit that i pick. it's easier for me to count calories and do my protein/carbs ratio this way.

i've tried Lipo 6 and TIGHT!, with no results. perhaps it was because half the recommended dosage kept me up all night! i couldn't get used to it, so it didn't work for me.
i've found that eating clean and getting a trainer has helped me a million times more than any pill ever did.

Questions RE: Gym Memberships
Posted:
7/23/2006 8:45:07 AM
i hear all these people complaining about scams from gyms....
personally, i've never had a problem. when i was in Ontario, i worked out at Goodlife Fitness, and now that i'm out in Alberta i work out at World Gym, and i haven't had any issues with my contracts. then again, i'm not really the type to lose mine, either.
for me, i can't get up the motivation to work out at home. there's other stuff to do there, so i don't bother to work out. the gym, however, only has the option to work out!
i just recently found a gym buddy that hopefully won't quit on me. she likes to go as much as i do, our only issue seems to be what time to go, which we'll hopefully be able to work around.

health disclosure is extremely important! it shows honesty, and trust. however, it's not necessary past the "i'm tested and clean" if it's only going to be a one night stand or something of that effect.
i tell my bf everything, and did from the moment we decided we were committed.

Newbie here... need some help
Posted:
7/17/2006 5:09:05 PM
ummmmm.......
stay away from guy #1. he's taken. even after he's broken up with his current gf (if that were to happen) he's going to need time to heal. plus, he may never get over her....he's already been back to her once, and he loves her. you don't need that in the back of your head.
decide how you feel about the guy you're with. if you're not happy, get out. it's not fair to either of you if you stay and you're not happy.
and finally.....once you're healed from your relationship (if you end it) DO NOT go for guy #1. find a new guy to be happy with.

it sounds like giving the baby her late husband's name is very important to her.
her current beau should realize that this is not something that he should be jealous about. i understand the idea is awkward, but if i was in that situation, i might want the very same thing.
how about a compromise? what about if the kid had two middle names, one that was important to Chris, and one that was important to Debbie? that might make things easier.
it's a tough call.

i can't stand the smell, and it just makes my eyes water when i'm around someone that's smoking it. plus, the people i've been around just get totally stupid when they're stoned.
i don't b*tch at those that choose to get high, but i've had people try and pressure me into it, and i've put them in their place. don't bother me about my choice to avoid it, and i won't bother you.

these days, EVERYTHING will give you cancer in some way or another.
i use aspartame, not regularly, but occasionally. i'll usually only use it if it's in something i'm eating; i won't add it to anything.
i enjoy fresca, and aspartame sweetened fudgicles every once and a while. other than that, i don't go out of my way to use it.

catchy emails are great.
typically, i'm in the health and fitness forums a lot, and if you provide helpful information, or if you seem knowledgeable, i'll talk to you or email you, or comment on your advice.
both of these methods work a lot better than "hey baby, you're hot!"

whoa, sweetie!
this one is NOT a keeper. sounds like all he is, is a player and a sperm supplyer.
if you continue to see him, and even if he eventually moves in like you are hoping he will, you will have to deal with this your entire life. he will cheat on you, the way he is with his wife.
you said you noticed msgs from two other girls PLUS his wife? HIS WIFE??? he's a jerk, he's taken, and you're STILL with him? you got your proof, he's not moving out of the place he shares with her.
he has his cake, he's eating it, AND he has ice cream. you're being played. no matter what he says, he'll never change.
do you really want to have to wonder where he is every time he says he's going out?
don't rely on his friends, they'll cover for him. it's guy code.
leave. kick him out.

since this is all the women care about when it comes to men these days
what kind of people are YOU dating???
tattoos are nice, they look sexy but they have NOTHING to do with dating a person. and really the only thing regarding underwear that i care about is that they're clean!

think about the feeling you get after you've just had a great workout! that's what really gets me to go to the gym.
also, since i've begun training with a fitness competitor, my body fat has dropped pretty drastically. every few weeks i go for a body comp with her, and i just remember how horrible i'd feel if i ever let my body start to slip....cuz i wouldn't be the only one that knew about it!
plus, it's not cheap to train, and i'd hate to think i was wasting my hard earned money!
