Is our language becoming racist?

language itself can not be racist, it is people who use the words that others deem to be not acceptable

I FINALLY have a new computer.....BUT...
Posted:

the software cd is software that the vendor has installed and you have a copy for backup, the documentation will be a bunch of pdf files that are cheaper than printing out a manual
dialup is great if you live in the countryside, a friend has very slow broadband, just about 1.1 mb, as he lives about 10 miles from the exchange
set the internet browser temporary files to 50 mb, there will be a slowdown otherwise
get a book called pc's for dummies - the series takes complex subjects and makes them simple to understand

plenty of better choices to consider when thinking about renewal :)

I am looking for someone who I can spend time with sitting on the sofa, chatting or watching a film with a beer at the end of the day; but don't live my life for the tv guide.
I love going for walks and generally having a laugh with the people around me.
You must not mind having to re read my emails and text to work out what I meant to say I am dyslexic and find getting things in the right order a problem .
One of the things that makes me smile about someone is that they can stand on there two feet.

What's With This Horoscope Stuff?
Posted:

have to admit laughing a lot when pluto was deemed to be too small for a planet and was declassified, then the horoscope people had to change all their charts....
about as believable as some guy getting killed and then getting up the next day, plenty seem to fall for that one as well :)

Why is it that apparently any type of music is deemed as acceptable apart from metal
Posted:

prefer most music other than gangsta rap
metal is fine, it is what got me into psytrance after hearing an iron maiden acid house track and sounded a lot better than I thought it might :)

Going naked In Public
Posted:
11/9/2009 11:22:20 AM
got no issues with it, but would prefer to do it in a nudist club or nudist beach where everyone else is naked and no hangups, guess everyone is equal when naked :)
mind you, there are some websites dedicated to public nudity, so far they seem to be women, looks strange seeing a naked lady walking down the street, full of shoppers :)

Paedophiles...Should We Be Publicising Their Whereabouts?
Posted:
10/13/2009 4:07:14 PM
recall a bunch of chavs outing some guy who had served his sentence, the police had him under surveillance, but thanks to the chavs scaring him so much, he ran away, out of contact with the police and un-monitored.....
same sort of guys who attacked a paediatrician who had his profession on his house door and being chavs they gave up after paed...almost right :)
CC seems a good idea, if there is no sexual urge, then I guess no sexual thoughts or actions, getting them to take it all the time is the challenge

Airport body scanner optional, whats the point?
Posted:
10/13/2009 4:02:39 PM
after the terrorist who tried to kill some prince by having explosives up his bum, can see the authorities are keen on a mass scanner that shows people and other objects. the person viewing will be in another room, so wont be able to see the person to whom the grey outline refers to, no doubt with hand on buzzer to check out suspects with a closer look
guess the people banging on about naked kids will object to their doctor taking a look just in case....

Hosting?
Posted:
10/10/2009 5:00:42 PM
got my own website and domain name, hosted with my isp, £22 for 2 years, unlimited webspace and bandwidth, think it is around 10 GB space, mostly pictures so far :)
ten pages is not a lot, but if the site is poorly made, then having it for free is not much use
$120 per year for hosting seems steep, got a company that was recommended to me, register1.net. if you check their prices, it can give you ideas for prices
tend to use notepad and netscape composer to make sites, both free and easy to use, plus filezilla, a free ftp client :)
if the company is offering work from the website, google their name +review
see what happens

How often do you purchase new underwear?
Posted:

most of my underwear is black, might go thru the drawer soon and dump some, but generally only buy as and when I need them, dropping weight from 16.5 stone to 15.5 and from 38 inch waist to 36... when it gets to 34 inches, will need some new briefs :)

frostwire is a peer to peer file transfer software and when you download, you upload at the same time, some people who own the music have been known to take people to court for uploading to the net
frostwire is something would never use :)

currently listening to music from jamendo.com
music released under creative commons licences, you can sign up to favourite artists who will mail you when they release new stuff and donate money if you like them
no spyware, trojans or similair
all sorts of music on there, could suggest others, but they are mostly trance :)

Wheel Clamping........... More Fines !!
Posted:
9/13/2009 5:37:53 AM
not been clamped yet, but would sooner go to a hardware store and buy bolt cutters or battery grinder than pay the bill and you can always use it again :)
knew a bloke who had some guy parking in his drive and ignoring his plea to not park there, so he parked behind the guy and went out to town for some food, came back several hours later to find the guy crying about not being able to get to his car :)
since he was over the limit, he said words to the effect that he will move it in the morning
never had a repeat :)

Is antivirus neccessay with firewall?
Posted:

to the OP, yes, get an AV
using nod32, friend had avg, removed it and installed the trial, it picked up several avg missed
tend to use nod32 and malwarebytes.org - run that on a weekly basis
not use VM, but have a good idea what not to look at and sometimes make a mistake, good to have a backup :)

questions regarding frostwire, downloading true blood?
Posted:
9/6/2009 6:00:31 AM
looks like the OP was ripped off, afaik the only way to watch true blood legally is to be living in the area that it is shown on TV
frostwire is free and a poor choice of p2p client
prefer utorrent, google for it :)
get yourself a decent AV
www.eset.com - nod32 - 30 day trial
malwarebytes.org - free trojan remover
never understood why people fall for paying for p2p when it is freely available, albeit with the risk of the copyright owner tracing you

I HATE Explorer 8!
Posted:
8/23/2009 9:13:07 AM
running IE8
using http://www.sportingbears.org.uk/SBMC_Search.htm as the homepage
think I had bing, but did not like it, so changed it
the search engine options can be altered by going to internet options, then general, then search settings although only live! seems to be able to work, not that worried about it
as for redirects, reboot, press f8 repeatedly to get safe mode with networking
log into admin account, goto malwarebytes.org, download and install the latest client, run a full scan and let it remove what it finds

Wht is the website so slow?
Posted:
8/19/2009 11:42:25 AM
google for ccleaner
download, install and run, save the cookies for the sites you like and run the ccleaner
it wipes the cache in the browser, which if allowed to get too big slows the pc down
inernet explorer might be the browser (thing u look at this site with)
internet options, general settings
set to 50 mb
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files is where they are found for IE

Help! Low disk space
Posted:

maybe the OP should burn spare photos and documents to DVD and then dump the old documents, but the idea of getting a bigger hard drive is better
if not sure about re-installing, just format the new drive and move all documents and photos to the new drive, put the swap partition on the new drive and uninstall the current office program and re-install to the new data drive :)

Posted:

if they intimate girl started the chat, then no issues
if the OP repeatedly started chats, then suspect blocked for a while
guess it stops girls seeing guys who only want to know them for several hours
maybe wipe profile and start again, possibly wiser
