Second Career

Going on 6 months since I've started the process. Every step requires about a 1 month waiting period. Some of the steps are insanley stupid as well. Waited a month to go in just to set up a date and time for the next step.......

Second Career

All of the employment assesment centers (which you need to go through for second career) should offer you a career assesment course. It's a 10 day program designed to help you make a decision about what courses may best suit you. I highly recommend it, you may know what you want to do but it will also give you alternative options.

Is it rude not to respond to an email???
Posted:
7/18/2009 11:07:25 PM
I don't understand why people get so upset if someone doesn't respond to their e-mail. Seems needy if you ask me. I have several female friends who've shown me some of the e-mails they get. I've also seen some of the responses to a "not interested" e-mail back. For starters it seems that any response seems to implicate that it is ok to continue to e-mailing. Or they sometimes start sending insults. Would you want to have to deal with this? I've had a few women do the same thing to me after a polite "not interested" response.
You don't know these people and they don't know you. They "owe" you nothing. You may think they are rude for not responding to your e-mail, but try to remember some don't respond because they don't want to deal with the potential backlash for doing so.

How many Friendships are acceptable
Posted:

Friends are friends, why would there need to be a limit? You can never have too many friends (unless they're the mooching kind
) Also, why would you need explain how many friends you have to anyone? Wouldn't everyone assume that everyone else has, at the very least, a few friends?

Quitting Smoking
Posted:
9/21/2007 12:58:05 PM
Hey all, I quit smoking about 4 years ago. Before I quit I talked to alot of people about how they quit and what they suggested. I quit using the patch, worked wonders for me.
I never used the gum because people would tell me that they were addicted to the gum. I never tried Zyban (sp?) because I knew 4 people that were hospitalized because of using it. Another point would be to talk to your doctor about quitting. He/she would most definatley be able to provide a wealth of information about what might work best for you.
I agree with another poster that if your going to quit make sure its what "you" want to do. Don't do it for anyone else or for any other reason.

For anyone who has the problem of snorting out food and drink all over the keyboard while reading these posts - you can buy a keyboard cover, it's light film plastic in the shaping of the key pad so you can comfortably type with it on but have the security that drink will not be all over the keyboard while laughing your head off at the posts, lol. Creter you are always good for a laugh or a good thought provoking chuckle or hmmmmmmmmmm.
Finally! Someones come up with a way for safe cybering, a condom for your keyboard. Who'da thunk it.

gas prices $1.25/L?

I live in a small town, my commute to work is about one hour each way. I watched my monthly gas card bill almost double! I have no choice but to buy gas to get to work.
The government will never do anything to lower the prices, not just because they're raking in so much gas tax that they can start to spend it on all their perks, but also because of political pressure from all the companies that have vested interests in the oil companies.
Money talks, bullsh*t walks, and the government knows this. So, until the entire country gets off its collective whinning a$$ and actually b*tch slaps the government in the face, nothing will be done.

Sort of found myself in this position. We're not dating, but there is interest. I personnaly don't find it to be a problem. She told me she was preggars up front, so I know what I'd be getting into if we do become involved. She seemed to be apprehensive about telling me, but I respect her for doing so.

Some people just like the chase. You can't change what happened, so move on. You can't predict what other people will do and for what reasons. Some people keep leading others on because they don't want to hurt the other persons feelings. Little do they realize that the end result is usually worse.

Why do you keep going back to saying it isn't worth responding to men your not interested in?
Once again, I never raised that point. Once again I agreed with your original post. What I didn't agree with was the generalization you made about "men" don't take rejection well.
Anyways kitty, thank you for proving "my" point, that some women are just as bad as some men. First you started with name calling:
2dizzy... if you'd stop spinning long enough to look at my profile
don't be a girly man
Then you start talking about my penis:
does your p-e-n-i-s feel bigger now that you've tried to insult me more than once?
Not once have I called you a name, not once have I swore or used profane sexual inuendos as you have. My first post was a polite request to not generalize about men. What you did was jump all over it like I pointed my finger at you and started swearing at you. Are you always filled with such anger? For no reason?
Anyways kitty, I hope you have a wonderfull day.
OT: It still isn't a big deal if someone doesn't reply to your e-mail. You don't know them, and they don't know you. No-one owes you anything.

You stated that:
men don't take rejection well
So to answewr your question, yes you did say all men get bent.
That is a generalization. You don't say some men, you say "men".
Yes I know your a woman, whats your point? I never said you should know how women respond to rejection.
Never said that I was the one who rejected anyone. I said I know some women who've become pissed off that a guy won't date them. (for whatever reason)
Get off your high-horse wybk, I actually agreed with what you said, I just didn't like the generalization. See the OT part of my original post.

Please don't lump us all into the same basket. Not "all" men get so upset over being rejected. ('specially since it's their loss
) I've known "some" women that got absolutley pissed over being rejected.

Subject: Getting cheated on is the worst.
Message: Been married for only 4 years. Built a house and had a baby girl in june 04. I thought our world was perfect. I had no reason to believe that she was unfaithful. 2 months after the birth of my daughter I found out that she had been cheating on me for over a year. I got DNA done to see if my daughter was mine...... She is. The only good thing that came out of this. Sold the new house and now am starting over. Still hurts to this day. I don't know if I'll ever be able to trust the opposite sex again. I'm angry at myself for not seeing the signs earlier, i'm tired of being tired. All I can do is be there for my daughter and take each day 1 step at a time. I need a hug!!
Don't be angry with yourself dood. Been there done that, My ex cheated on me with 2 different guys. We had just bought a house, everything was going good. I saw the signs, but, I think I didn't want to see, or believe them. Sometimes we refuse to accept the obvious, it isn't something you can change. Accept what has happened and move on.

I agree with Byrd, why was her boss looking at her breasts? Doesn't matter if she's female or not. Sue for sexual harrasment, and wrongfull dismisal. Irregardless if she was told her boss thought it was offensive. If memory serves me correctly, (at least in Canada) first is a warning (written or verbal) then second is suspention.

Yes it's true. Even if they don't cheat again, (which is unlikely) the thought will always be there. Everytime they are late, or don't call, or whatever, I don't care who you are or how much you say you now trust them, the thought will always be there.

I believe it was the mid 80's...
Do you remember all the riots caused by shoppers to get their hands on a Cabbage Patch Doll for Christmas? Thousands of women fighting over 12 dolls the store got in. people lining up for 2 days outside a store just so they could get a doll?
I was in Wal-Mart last week and saw a huge crowd of people in a certain area. I was like WTF?? My friend and I went over to see what the commotion was about. Well there was a very large stack of cabbage patch dolls, and there was around 100 people goin nuts trying to get them. I couldn't believe it. I was like "didn't this happen like 20 years ago?"

Why not act crazy when they are with you. Try asking them if they hear people talking. Or laugh hysterically and yell at the T.V (when its off.) Tell them your favorite number is 7. Everytime you see the number 7 point at it and scream "OOOOOOOHHHHHHH YEEEAAAAHHHH!"
So much fun to be had really, well there are tons of things you could do. Why not try to have fun while doing them?

Posted:
6/24/2005 6:06:17 PM
WHY are there so many people who write pages and pages of crap like this:
bla bla bla bla.........bla bla bla bla........... bla bla bla bla...............bla
What is wrong with using simple paragraphs and correct gramatical structure?
Do you realise how annoying it is to try and read posts that consists of nothing more than a single massive block of text filled with 8 or 10 dots interspersed at seemingly random places?
It does not reflect well at all on our education system when supposed adults are unable to spell commonly used words or make use of simple grammatical structures
For the love of God, use the enter key. I can't stand it when I have to scroll sideways to read a post.

Also there should be a button on the front, it will degauss the monitor (if its crt) when you press it, it will make the screen shake which is normal. Try that, but I'd be more inclined to say the monitor is on the way out.

Where were you in the blackout of August 2003?
Posted:
6/20/2005 7:34:47 PM
I was at a customers apartment, my co-worker and I just stepped out of the elevator on the ground floor when everything went black. We were lucky really, some people were stuck in elevators for a long time. After we left it took us nearly 3 hours to get back to our shop, should have only taken 30 mins. One of the people I lived with had access to a couple of generators, we hooked up power to our fridge and freezer for 30 mins then took the generator to all our neighbours, I live on a dead end street with about 20 houses, everyone got 30 mins on a rotating cycle and chipped in for fuel. But man what a BBQ it turned out to be, everyone cooking steaks, burgers, hotdogs, in retrospect it was a blast.
