Ric.c The department of transportion is ignoring congress over this issue. Butto answer your question yes they have got to have a valid cdl and speak english plus there is an age limit on the equipment.

How many of you have been down and out everyone needs help at least one time in there lifes. I have never lived on the street but it could happen to anyone. I have gave money to alot of homeless people it helps me inside to feel i helped another out.

Lynne13. I myself have gotton outta driving for the time being there was though actually alittle strike in may. Most owner ops are parking there trucks and driving for companys but at the same time most little companys are hurting as well jevic transport just shut its doors 1500 jobs lost.

S.a guy i have got to agree with you things have sure changed at 5 gal for diesel most mexican carriers cant afford to run in the u.s and alot of u.s companies are going belly up.

Ok as far as fuel prices for my p/u ive found that if i run 70mph i get 16.5 and if i run 60 i get 20.5 guess whos foot got lighter. I have tips for getting better mpg. 1) Take off slower 2) brake early and try to pace the traffic lights well 3) use cruise as much as you can. 4) lower you highway speed 5) take out any extra weight not needed.

Try buying 300 gal at a time The Trucking industry has took a big hit many companys have filed chapter 11. So far at this time iam very fortunate that my company is making it we have however cut back the trucks in order to achive higher mph.

1) no signals 2) not knowing how to yield/ merge 3) assured clear distance 4) need to take their cells and shove them up their.................. 5) Must realize this isnt the wild west 120 mph on 33 is not good. 6) Show some respect to slower vehicules. 7) The shoulder is not another passing lane.

Okay just let me run this by a few of you semis are not good things to tail gate have you ever seen the after math of a blown recap inside a windshield its not a pretty site. Okay as for the truckers who tailgate dont you have any idea how long it takes to stop your truck at 80,000 ibs 55 miles and hr on dry roads you are looking at about a football field .
