Help with Windows 98?
Posted: 10/11/2009 1:11:49 AM
Thank you Dark and Blues! Your advice was very informal! Especially yours Blues... it has come to my attention that it was something like a "c drive video"? or "Video C Drive" ? Please e mail me at pinkzombi@yahoo.com if you have further instructions on how to recover this. It is 3 am now... I have been checking back with you guys all night, lol! We shall speak more tomorrow, I am quite interested in more info on the update, please send me how to search.... thank you again for your great knowledge! I'm looking forward to hearing from you! You guys have helped relieve much anxiety!

Help with Windows 98?
Posted: 10/10/2009 7:45:43 PM
Hi Dark! Thank you so much for your reply! So, ok... this computer was working ok at first... someone deleted too much stuff... one of the files had to do with the c drive? So now the pictures are all pixeled... it's hard to describe. I'm still able to get to the internet, but videos are hard to see... and I keep getting the "report problem" box. Can this computer be saved by an amateur such as myself? Can I get back what was deleted?

Help with Windows 98?
Posted: 10/10/2009 7:11:23 PM
Hi all!
Not sure if anyone here is willing to help with such an outdated program or even if it's even possible, but since there are so many intelligent individuals on this site, I thought I'd go ahead and give it a shot! My question is, is it possible to do a system restore for Windows 98 as it is for Windows XP?
Please make all inquiries simple and in layman's terms, lol!
Thank you in advance, this is the best place to fish for advice! - Gina

Tease Gone Wild....
Posted: 8/29/2007 12:05:56 PM
In reference to the Mars lady... opinions are like azzholes, everyone has one! I refuse to argue about this, arguing on the internet, as I have said before, is like arguing with someone that is mentally challenged.... if the shoe fits, wear it!!! My point has been clearly made, and for those that don't like it, have issues of thier own to sort out. Scorpio and the rest of them that think women should not flirt with out expecting a man to respond in an inappropriate manner, are the type of men we are discussing in this forum. Call me bad, call me a zombie, I'm the BIG BAD PINKZOMBIE!!!!!!!!!!! Resorting to name calling is just another way of showing ignorance and the lack of intelligence. Stop trying to turn this around like it is the always the female's fault.

Tease Gone Wild....
Posted: 8/28/2007 7:49:19 AM
OMG....LOL How long did it take it you to write that BOOK man??!!! You wanna know how long it took me to read it? 5 seconds! Because it not worth reading! I have zero tolreance for ignorance, and so called 'men' making petty ass excuses for thier juvenile ways! I will thank you for the correction on the word 'inexcusable', that was a typo becasue I was so upset during my response.
But I refuse to let this get to me any longer, arguing on here is like arguing with someone that is mentally challenged, which is what I am beginning to believe you are scorpio. You along with that other guy have to learn to take responsibility, when your wrong, your wrong, admit it, move on, and learn that women cannot be treated any way YOU choose to treat them, if you want respect from women scorpio, you have to EARN it! And your actions on here clearly show why you are single, and will continue to be.
This is a waste of time and energy. But I tell you what, I sure wish I was there!

Hey, you know what.... call it what you want, but in the end... all it boils down to is some men having thier ego's in thier pants and afraid to admit they are scared little boys when they get turned down by a beautiful young lady/woman.
I'm not trying to have a 'battle of the sexes' on here.... I just want to make sure you 'men' understand, that 'flirting' is not always an 'invitation'!

rjpeagles~~~A big yummy hug for you sweety!
Now tell me AlexSB... is that a tease???? Do I deserve to be groped now, and have rpj ASSUME he is getting 'some' from me now?
C'mon MEN! Did you all just crawl out of a rock from the 16th century where women were never respected? I don't care if she flashed her naked flesh in his face and ripped off her undies and threw them at him!!!!!!!! Nothing you say will EVER justify a 'guy' for assuming he can 'have' anything from a woman!
I agree, there is a big difference between a man and a guy, and his actions were of no man, or a mature adult. How dare you say her daughter was at fault! A man would of walked away after she told him NO, end of story!

Scorpio~~~~ You have obvioulsy been through something like this before and it not turn out as..... let's just say as 'pleasant' as Kat and her daughter's experience. And it's also obvious you have no idea or the undertsanding of what NO means. This big long over exhausting post you just made is clearly from someone that has 'bullied' women in the past.
That's right... I said 'bullied'. Because that's what this was, and I don't care what the rest of you 'so called men' have to say about it. This is unexcusable from the male species! If you had any respect for women or even yourself for that matter, it shouldn't have take more than 1 friggin time for a female to say NO and you GTFO! No one deserves to be talked to or treated the way Kat and her daughter was that night.
And she did tell him right away she had a boyfriend.
She did tell someone else, her mother!
And why should SHE walk away???? HE was the one that approached her, harrassing her!

Help w/ fully deleting hard drive and starting over....
Posted: 8/26/2007 3:22:23 PM
Thanx so much for your advise mufski, but as you said, since I am not familiar with re/installing the Windows, my best bet is to have someone come in and take closer look, I would hate to ruin that computer, it's not even mine! lol
For some reason, when I put in that disk, Operating System.... the only way to access it is to click on it, and it only has options that are even more confusing to me, but just basically it's for installing windows, and I don't need that until after hard drive is wiped clean, right? So frustrating!!! lol
I talked to someone just a little bit ago who is willing to come and look at it, you all have been very generous with your advise here, I did not expect so many responses and so promptly too!
Thanx again everyone!
Respectfully,
Pink

Help w/ fully deleting hard drive and starting over....
Posted: 8/26/2007 12:36:04 PM
Well I have no idea what I am doing... I tried rebooting 5 different ways.... I got the menu that has 3 different choices of ways to boot the system, and the only one I understood was win xp home edition.... so that didn't work.... I went to the bios several times, and went to the BOOT menu.... chose cd rom for the computer to boot up with the disk, first it said it was disabled, then I changed it and a bunch of letters were put in the place where it said disabled, went back and forth with that and booted several times, so I figured it was enabled, it asked if I wanted to save the changes and continue so I did........................ it started up normal, without the disk........ ARRRRRRRRRGH Im so frustrated!!! I have the UPMOST respect for all of you computer programers out there! I DO NOT WANT TO EXCHANGE JOBS WITH YOU! LOL
The F8 got me the menu on how to reboot. Is it possible to get phone consoltation???? lol I know that's asking alot, but I'm despirate here!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, thanx so much for your suggestions... and I totally understand about the recovery disk, but the funny thing is, and I should have mentioned this yesterday, is I don't know which disk is the recovery disk! It's not that I can't read, it's just that none of these cd's say "Dell Recovery Disk" in any form.... so the only thing left to do is to leave you a list of the disks and maybe you can tell me which one it is.... And thanx again for all this help! God Bless everyone of you!
Here's what I've got:
Sound Blaster Live! Value -Dell
Operating System-Reinstallation CD Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition-Dell
Drivers And Utilities-Dell Dimension ResourceCD for Reinstallating Device Drivers and Using Diagnostics, Utilities, and Online Documentation
1503FP Color Monitor Quick Setup-Dell
APPLICATION-For Installing/Reinstalling Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.1 Basic-Dell

Well, that page makes sense... looks pretty easy to do too, but it said "when the Dell splash appears during the start up process".... press cntrl and F11, well, this computer does not have a Dell splash screen.... when it starts, just shows Windows XP and goes to the user page.
So that won't work.
Any other suggestions???

BTW... working with Windows XP, and the reason for all this is he has too much stuff on his computer and just wants to start over plus is trying to install wirless internet through AT&T called ZWIRE... it says it's hooked up fine but he still can't get access to the internet and I can't get the access on my lap top, I have wireless already built in, and have had no problems in the past accessing a connection in other locations. When I try to 'repair' it, it says there is no problem with the connection but there is little or no connectivity, and it also says 'the network did not assign a network address to the computer'.
What is a 'network address' and which computer is it talking about?
He could call Dell, but the warranty is over and would be charged for the call, which we would like to avoid. -Thanx!

Hi all, my name is Pink....
My boyfriend has a desktop Dell Demintion 4400, and wants to clean out the hard drive and start over, go back to factory version I suppose, like brand new... he has several disks that came with the computer, but we are not sure how to use them. Plus, his warranty is over so if he calls Dell, he be charged and would like to avoid that.
I tried doing a search on line too, and was surprised at how much it costs for "Free Live Tech Help", lol! And found some sites with Q n A's... but none helped and were hard to follow. I always thought I could understand quite a bit about computers, but I realized today how computer illiterate I really am, lol! Better just stick the simple stuff I can do on my own lap top I guess.
Any type of help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanx for taking the time out to read this.
