Posted: 10/3/2006 9:09:26 PM
LOL....This happened several years ago...

I received long thermal underwear!!
Other stupid and non personal items also....

I was completely shocked.....especially when 2 months earlier for my birthday
I got a gorgeous black leather mini skirt from the same guy!!.......Go figure!!!...LOL

How to handle it when it's an immediate turn-off?
Posted: 9/11/2006 4:08:52 PM
Michellerenee if this^^^^ post is towards me, then you also didnt read my post!!!

His pics were a lie!!!.......And no looks are not everything....
but you either like what you see and feel chemistry or not.

I did sit and try to chat with him......HE was the one whom asked,
After 15 minutes.....Now what??

I tried, but he became rude and vulgar.....I should have to sit there and listen to that?
{GEEZ I feel like Im repeating myself over and over}

The guy was dirty, dressed like a slob, and had fingernails
longer than mine.........

No I'm not perfect, but I do have self respect and would never show
up for a date looking like that.

Primlearthangel.....Did you even read my post???

The man wasn't happy with my suggestion to chat more.
Then became ignorant and vulgar...IN PUBLIC!!

NOBODY should have to deal with that.....so I being a classy lady..
{which you emplied I was not} calmly without confrontation.....left.

It was clear I wouldn't want to be friends with a man that talks to me that way.
And to teach me humility......where did that come from??

Next time read someones post before throwing out your opinion. Geez

No, I'm not "hardened" at all Powervideo,.....it's just after all the threats
and disgusting emails..... I am very cautious.

Besides, if ya hit it off with someone the date can go on and on,
getting lost in time.

I was in this type of situation on a date in July.
This guys pics HAD to be 10 years old and now he was repulsive to me.

I would never be rude...I wouldn't want someone to be mean to me ....
So we sat and I did order a drink.
His first remark was...."Are you disappointed?"....I just said...."Why would you say that?"
I tried to talk and be nice....after 15 minutes he says...."Now what?"
I said "Lets just chat"...he tisked and shook his head.

After a few choice words that were totally uncalled for....Rude and vulgar...{by him}
I picked up my keys and calmly walked out.
Him following screaming at me.
After the stalking and numerous emails from all his fake profiles.......

I now prefer no pics, pay for myself, and make it clear I will only meet for coffee.

Do I have this correct??
Posted: 8/22/2006 9:25:37 PM
Thank you to those who gave their opinions. It has helped me.
I'm sorry that some of you who "got off" of the simple question that I posted.
And those who went on and on......about all the other "stuff"....well that wasn't
really what I wanted to know. But each has his/her opinion.
For me..... a simple answer was all that was necessary.

Again Thanks!

I see this {Non religious} in many profiles. I'm not sure.....does this mean this person does not believe in God, or just isn't practicing whichever religion that they are?

I personally do not care what religion a person is or if the go to their church each week,
I would just like to meet someone who believes in God.

Will those who state this in their profile please clear this up for me? Anyone elses opinions are welcomed too!!

Thanks!.........PB

DONT go by pics.....I met a guy from here and his pics had to be 10 years old.
I NEVER will "ONLY" meet a person with pics.....who says that the pics are current or even a pic of the person your emailing/talking to ??

I will never have a pic on here because for me......I definately look much better in person.
Just my preferance is all.

Has anyone been brave enough to meet someone with no pic at all?
Posted: 8/13/2006 7:44:31 PM
As I said in an earlier post in this thread .....Yes, I have met several men without pics , np.

On the other hand....I met 1 man from POF who HAD a pic and the pics were at least 10 years old!!! {not only that but when I wasn't interested in being more than he wanted he stalked me for weeks.....made 5 profiles here....and kept it up until he had a VERY friendly warning to leave me alone.}

I'll take my chances with a guy with no pic any day....most peoples pics are probably old or fake!!

HEYLEEWO... I will definately be there. Sounds great. Auggies sounds great also.
Only one thing.... Maybe we should consider the end of October instead of February.
ONLY because snow may potentually be a problem in February. If we go with October...for example, we avoid snow and its well before the holidays. This is just a thought.
Either way I'll be there!!!!! Let me know!!

A Helpful Guide to a First Date.
Posted: 8/8/2006 11:48:11 PM
OP...I think that your list is wonderful. Not that ALL of those things SHOULD be done on the first date, but some would certainly be welcomed.

I also appreciate that you realize everything that women go through to look a combo of a bit....classy/casual/sexy for the first date. A little of each but not to much of each. {at least thats what I do}.

Hopefully there are more like you out there!!

internet dates from Hell
Posted: 7/24/2006 1:39:03 PM
Just to let those being supportive of my problem on here know. Two of his 5 profiles have been deleted....but not the main ones with the phony pics and ages.....I'm still working on them. Yes, he still bothers me but I've found him to be pathetic at this point. Being this upset over one date tells me he must not have many dates or much else in his life to focus on. I do wish he would just let it go!! I mean "GROW UP!!!"

Yes my gut feeling was that that guy was not "right" in the mind and I did leave immediately!
Here I am days later and do you believe this guy is still making more profiles and still emailing me and harrassing me????
He must not have many dates if he is still this mad over 1 date.
I dont know how to get rid of the guy.

Yes I did report him to POF Guitarchick.......But nothing was done. ALL of his profiles are still on here. So if there are any Pittsburgh ladies on here email me and Ill tell ya who he is so you dont go through what I did.

Oh yeah.....his pics...lol...have to be 5-10 yrs old..........thats why I NEVER go by pics.....just my opinion.

internet dates from Hell

I'm glad that you are alright. Yes, some internet dates are scarey. I had one last week. We chatted in the phone ....what a soft spoken sweet man. Such a gentleman I thought.

We met the next evening for a drink. After 20 mins he looks at me {with raised eyebrows} and says "what now?". I said " well, we could talk some more and get to know each other better". He looked insulted and started going off on me and insulting me. I sat there shocked....after a couple more insults I calmly stood up and walked out. Him following me screaming, swearing, calling me names. I asked some ladies walking down the street to walk me to my car and got out of there!!

When I got home I came online to block him and got flooded with emails threatening me and saying 'Im gonna get you back.' The most vulgar language and unbelievable threats! This went on for HOURS........FROM ALL HIS DIFFERENT PROFILES !!!! He finally stopped when I had a "friend" call him and tell him leave me alone. What a NUT!!

So ladies { and gents} BEWARE!!

Yes, I have met several guys without pics....and them me. I really dont see what the BIG deal is. If you talk and get along then meet!! Its not a week or a year....its just a date!! Some I have dated a couple more times....one even 6 months. Im not bragging or anything but all but 1 wanted to see me again Some I did ...some I didnt. I think people are too paranoid.

Do you like or dislike Holidays alone?
Posted: 7/5/2006 2:20:48 AM
Im not into the holidays either. I try to "fake" being happy for my 2 nieces..12 and 15, but their getting smarter and know better. They are good kids and we do play games, cards etc. But Id rather be playing other things....if ya know what I mean!!!!!

All the work, decorating,shopping,wrapping,cards,cooking....I could go on and on and its over in a couple hours and Im left alone. I usually end the evening with a good cry.
I pray someday Ill have a happy holiday filled with much love and I wish all of you the same!!
