Is it possible for men to flirt
Posted: 10/23/2009 1:28:32 PM

I can testify with absolute certainty that there do exist men who are both erudite and lascivious, who can flirt captivatingly, without crossing the line into offensive, lewd or boorish couthlessness.

But, we've never even met! How could you know me so well? (had to say that since the straight line was so good!) Actually, I don't much flirt at all online, doing so primarily face to face. And, I only realized I was doing it after I got married, perhaps because I'm not trying to accomplish any prurient thing by the flirting -- just having fun.

I only wish I got good at flirting while I was single -- it might have been a much more pleasurable time than it was.

Cape Cod beaches

It may be kind of an age-thing. I find Hyannis just right (we got engaged there), but some other parts too clogged. While we have spent several vacations in Brewster and Orleans, but Provincetown -- unless you have an aunt and uncle with a place -- can really be too much, though a lot of fun.

Glad you had a good time.

I basically agree with everything already posted. Having said that, if you genuinely feel there's a connection being made, or if they approach you time and time again, even when they don't have to, that is a positive signal. I'm sure you can, over several separate small conversations find out whether there is anything you might try to pursue when you're off the clock.

Does anyone else remember when supermarkets used to have "singles nights" to help us folks who were hopelessly rotten at dating meet other people?

Definitive signs of interest...

I kind of like Concerto's approach -- indirect, but still interested. Given what already happened, he's bound to take you up on your offer, and you can see what happens from there. And try to talk about stuff other than relationships, kind of like "going with the flow."

It sounds promising to me.

WHY R OLDER GUYS SO SEXY????????
Posted: 10/8/2009 1:39:56 PM

Haven't a clue. Always shocks me when a hot young woman flirts heavily with me. And it happens more often than I would think possible. And no disrespect to you young ladies, but what would I DO with you? You may be beautiful and great inbed, but what do we talk about the rest of the time?

I pretty much agree with this one. I've never gotten how so many "older" men ignore beautiful women around their age and shoot like hell for younger women. There's no question that younger women may be as attractive, intelligent, and nice as older women, but sometimes the points of reference don't match. I mean, when I say I'll call you tomorrow, "Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel," and they don't get it, I feel far too old!

How often do condoms really break?
Posted: 10/8/2009 1:20:06 PM
That pretty much describes me during those condom use days. There's never really an easy, smooth way of puttin' them on... Once you're ready, a vasectomy is a wonderful thing....

You know your a Mom when..

You know you’re a Mom, or Dad in my case, when you realize that your family uses its own code language. Our son, who is now 14, started to call Parmesan cheese “green cheese” when he was a toddler because it came in a green container. We’ve called in green cheese ever since. You can imagine the looks we get when people visit for dinner, and someone asks for the green cheese.

You also know you’re a Dad when you take a whole handful of napkins every time you visit a fast food restaurant or convenience store. Hey, you never know when you might need them! I’ve got a whole bunch in my glove compartment right now, and I’ll bet you all do…!

Does this make me a cougar?

My take on it? Have a nice time. You met in a perfectly decent way, made a little connection, why not enjoy spending more time together?

Vasectomy - what's the big deal?
Posted: 10/5/2009 3:01:47 PM
May as well contribute. I had a vasectomy in 2001 (since it was covered by insurance -- I’m “thrifty.”) I’d already had both kids, and at age 44 and certainly had no plans for any others regardless of any potential issues with my wife. Years later, I was talking to several friends, one of whom was trying to convince her husband how much easier it would be for him to have a vasectomy than for her to get a tubal ligation. What I hadn’t realized until that time was how many of my friends, probably ranging in age at the time from 40-46 ish had already had it done.

All procedures have risks, but it’s probably the best elective procedure I’ve ever had, and I’m glad I did it. And as for sitting on the ice for a weekend -- how often can you just sit in bed watching your TV shows or reading books for a whole weekend without being disturbed! Like: no trash to take out, no laundry to fold, no baths to give the kids -- it was like a mini-vacation!
