all these replies sound like mental masturbation to me. it's not an interest in dating you have... it's an obsession with the music you prefer, and you want that reflected in your partner.

there's so much more to music than the last 20 years heavy metal. open your minds people! check out some other genres of music. particularly the roots, because most young today lack any competent knowledge of music.

What is missing in today's music?
Posted:
12/15/2008 2:01:01 PM
today's popular music lacks any real heart. it's all a bunch of over-produced crap that won't stand the test of time. everyone uses pitch shifters these days too. that's the lamest thing that has ever happened to music. that means that people who have no talent can be successful in music. you know that underwater sound on the vocals that popular songs have these days? that's a pich shifter... means that clown can't sing.

John Mayer... Stevie Ray- Clone?
Posted:
8/24/2008 2:46:31 PM
Stevie Ray Vaughan was a largely influenced by Albert King. Albert King created many of Stevie's lics. So by this logic SRV is an Albert King clone. The blues is all about keeping the train rolling! Props to John Mayer for playing the blues. And even if he sounds like SRV then even more props! He has enough clout with the young people. He's introducing them to music many of them haven't heard before.
The blues is the blues my friend.
I'm a blues guitar player and got nothing but love for people that keep this art alive.

Would you date a guy that believed in UFO's
Posted:
8/24/2008 2:31:24 PM
There's nothing crazy about believing in UFO's.
Let's look at the acronym UFO... It stands for Unidentified Flying Object.
Well there are plenty of objects in the sky that are flying that sometimes cannot be identified. All this means is that you saw something flying and don't know what it is. It could be a bird, it could a plane, it could be fricken Superman himself!
And if you see an object flying and you are sure it is a UFO then you are wrong. If you're sure you saw a UFO you really saw an IFO (Identified Flying Object) simply because you identified a flying object as unidentifiable.
So in conclusion people who don't believe in UFO's are crazy.
Now people that believe that aliens are coming here in spaceships to give us anal probes... that's crazy talk! Everyone knows they're coming here by jumping the fence to work construction jobs!

Laminate Flooring?
Posted:

Hardwood floors make it easier to sell your house. They're also more attractive where laminate flooring is extremely tacky in my opinion. The price of hardwood floors is way worth it.
When I was looking at houses for the first time if it didn't have hardwood floors then I wouldn't consider buying it.

Current Condition of todays rap/hip hop
Posted:
8/22/2008 9:34:00 AM
Rap has gotten extremely lazy as of late. When songs like Crank That Soldier Boy are a hit, it'sa reflection of how shitty the people's taste have gotten. That gives artists the ok to be lazy and shitty. Because why work hard to please the people when you can spout off nonsense and horsecrap and still be rich and famous. The old school kicks the hell out of this new music. Those guys actually had talent and didn't use pitch shifters on their voices in every damn song!

Honda motorcycles all the way! F**K Harleys. I'll smoke any Harley on the track!

I want to ride on a motorcycle!
Posted:

Don't get on a motorcycle with just anybody. There are more idiots on two wheels than you think (many of them are morons in their 20s on crotch rockets who have little experience but got a bike because they think it's cool). I ride myself. As the driver I only give rides to passengers who I trust will listen to my instructions about riding. These passengers are always people I have a good repoire with and whom I trust to follow directions. A bad passenger can cause an accident. My advice to you if you've never ridden on a motorcycle is to take a safety course and study the physics of how motorcycles work.
Also... concerning proper gear...
Even if your state does not have a helmet law you should always wear a helmet. People that don't wear helmets are irresponsible, stupid, or just bad at math considering that you're three times more likely to survive a crash with a helmet than without. Always ride with face shield helmet. You don't want to smash your face on the pavement and be permanently deformed now do you? You should also wear above the ankle boots, gloves, and long sleeves (leathers if possible). Never wear shorts, tennis shoes, flip flops, heels, skirts, tank tops, or short sleeves. You're asking for trouble if you ignore this common sense rule.
When two people are on the same motorcycle it is all about trust. And trust is earned, not given.
Remember that every rider will more than likely go down at least once.... even the safest ones.
These are the types of things you must accept if you're going to ride. Happy riding and good luck.

single men in their 30s living alone with a dog

A guy who is in his 30s, lives alone, and has a dog is not a loser. In fact I'd say a man that is not married in his 30s is doing pretty good. Those women you heard talking are just bitter ****es that are looking to lash out at someone else because their own clock is ticking and they haven't found a man to put up with their crap. Don't worry.

Hey WackMC...
You're exactly right... a marriage license is a piece of paper issued by the state so there are more arms of government in your life... and if it doesn't work out then she can take half your stuff. Yeah... sounds VERY logical to me.... I guess if other people look to pieces of paper to prove commitment then that's fine. Me... I don't have anything to prove to anybody. I'm driving the train... if anybody wants to get on then cool. If they want off then cool. I'm not getting off though.
Reality check... a piece of paper is worthless if the heart doesn't back it up. It's still worthless when the heart is true. Ceremonies don't mean sh*t

Here's my advice... quit overanalyzing everything. Walk up to him, give him your number, and ask him to call you. It's that simple... The worst thing that can happen is that he doesn't call you. And if he doesn't then he probably isn't interested anyway.

Do Christian Women Scare You Off ???
Posted:
8/12/2008 12:21:28 PM
Christians annoy me. Most exude this aura of "I'm better than everyone else because I'm a Christian". Not only that, most will try to convert me even on the first date. Sorry sister, but I have my beliefs.... respect them please! Someone who shouts from the windows that they're a Christian shouts to me how much attention they want the world to give them. Also, I enjoy a good beer after work... and being in the South most Christians think you're going to hell if you drink.
Personally I reject the idea of a Christian god. It's no more true than what the ancient Greeks believed. Religion is a reflection of cultures that have been influenced by political power throughout the centuries. The reason that most western nations are predominantly Christian is because of the political power of the medieval Church. You were FORCED to believe or else they burned you alive! And since all western nations are based on European thought we inadvertantly have the Christian dogma etched into our culture. Today's religion is a reflection of these old times and therefore nothing more than mythology propogated by the politics and policies of the time. Instead of believing in the mythology of religious texts, believe in the moral lessons they teach. The Bible can be summed up in three words... Love your neighbor!

Having a college education or not is a piss poor way to judge somebody. I know plenty of complete MORONS with college degrees and some with masters and doctorates! I know people without degrees who will answer EVERY question on Jeopardy correctly. A college degree is just a piece of paper that says you paid thousands of dollars to prove you can devote several years of your life to a specific goal.

Why guys want to meet right away?
Posted:
8/11/2008 2:36:23 PM
To answer the OP's question...
It's because men tend to not want to beat around the bush. I prefer women that are not hesitant. It tells me she knows what she wants. I myself consider it a waste of time to be chatting it up on the phone or sending emails in te beginning. People could be sending the wrong picture of how they really are. Many people prefer face to face contact because you learn more about the person when you can read their eyes, body language, and facial expressions. That way you find out quicker if you could date this person in the long term. Let's not waste anyone's time here! I mean come on... there are public places where complete strangers congregate everyday to socialize! Coffee shops, bars, restaurants, pool halls, etc... There's nothing strange about it. If it's a safety concern then carry mace and park in a lighted area near the entrance of the public place!

So I agree with everyone that says it is her right to decide how she grooms herself. It's one of many rights that people have. People also have the right to do plenty of other senseless and stupid sh*t. It doesn't mean that it's right. People with poor grooming practices are trashy in my opinion. It's a reflection of how little they care about themselves.

Should Smokers and Non Smokers Date ?
Posted:
8/10/2008 2:53:09 PM
I'm a nonsmoker. I don't see why people even start smoking. I tried cigarettes for a few weeks in high school and thought to myself "What the hell is the hype all about?" It made me sick and it tasted like f***ing ASS! So why even start and get used to it?
I find smoking disgusting and repulsive. Attention smokers... it makes your hair, skin, and clothes smell bad, your teeth turn yellow, your breath is real bad, and the coughing up mucus in the morning makes me want to vomit. I really don't see what you get out of smoking. Yeah you always say it feels good or it relieves stress.... so do plenty of other things.
Don't get me wrong... I'm not against smoking. If you want to sign up for major health problems and be gross then that's your right. I don't mind the smoke in a bar or restaurant. I think the government making these laws against it is the biggest load of crap. Who am I and who is the government to say you can't ruin your health and smell god-awful to the point where I want to vomit my lunch!?!?

BOYZ

I'm with the OP on this one...
A woman that calls me a boy just earned her a seat at the "Not Good Enough For Me To Date" table. I pay my bills, take care of my responsibilities, I cook, clean, and even iron my ow clothes! (Yes I iron! Oooooh a shocker isn't it ladies?!!?!
). I can fix and build things, know my way around a tool shed, a car engine, and a motorcycle engine. I haven't needed parental assistance since I was 20. So that makes me a man. And a woman that calls me a boy has only revealed a "I'm better than everyone else" attitude. That's such a turn off. I like ladies that have some maturity about their brains and can meet me eye to eye so I don't have to explain the ways of adulthood to them!

ex ruining my life, help!!!!
Posted:

This is easy to resolve...
Next time he acts out of line call the police. Once there is an incident report it will be a piece of cake to take out a restraining order on him. Then when he violates the order call the police again and they'll come and take him away. You can always say to the police that you fear for your safety and think he is out to cause you harm. If he's still persistent and making you feel threatened I'd then get a gun just in case he goes over the edge and breaks in the door. If he does that then put a hollow point in his belly or knee cap. Those are the two most painful places to be shot. He won't die and then you can claim self defense. He'll be in prison for criminal trespass, breaking an entry, and possible assault and he'll have a limp the rest of his life. lol

More college educated women than men
Posted:
8/7/2008 10:11:40 AM
Hey stacks42... my brother has a Bachelor's in Finance. The best job he could find since he's graduated was a bank teller job. You can be a high school drop out for that job.
I've learned more from my father than from any school. I spent three years in college before realizing how useless it is for what I'm building for now. Half the people my age with college degrees are still working in restaurants! Look again... what makes a person successful is their will. Smart people invest in capital instead of working for somebody. I'll be damned to work for somebody else. I'm my own boss...I'm no peon in a cubicle or on an assembly line!
Maybe you're just frustrated because you have a weak disposition. I'm just speculating here, but it seems that you're taking out your life's failures on me because you know I'm right.
You might want to grow up a bit and refrain from name calling. It only shows how puerile you really are. Do you know that word? here.. let me use one your feeble mind can understand... "immature".
I'm 26 and live a very comfortable life so piss off shitforbrains!
