Where does Size Acceptance Fit in The Dating Game?
Posted:
11/5/2006 6:06:23 PM
I feel that people are attracted to whoever they are attracted to....plain and simple. I am always amazed at the couples you see in public and how you would sometimes never put them together. Some people just cannot get attracted to fat people no matter what. It is not their fault either. Believe it or not I knew a woman who was close to 300 pounds who refused a date with a guy because he was fat. Incredible, right?

Middle Aged Cheap Skates....

This is in response to Smootharleyguy: A day on the back of a bike sounds like a wonderful date. However, it is a CHEAP date. Especially with no meal involved. I have a friend and he is just a friend who takes me for rides and lunch and sometimes lets me pay for lunch but not often. I think you were out of line with your $14,000 remark.

My pet peeve about cheapsakes has nothing to do with who pays or where you go even. Mine is about the man who never leaves a big enough tip for the waiter/waitress. It is embarrassing. I suppose that comes from raising my 4 children on tips but I would never think of leaving less than 15% and usually 20% unless the service was terrible.

I think I ... talk too much ...

Ron - I absolutely have the same problem with the men. If they contact me with a quick sentence I figure they are trying to see if I am interested. If I am, I write back an appropriate email, asking questions, telling them a little about myself. What do I get back? "Nice to hear from you, hope to hear from you again". I can't figure out if these guys want to find a date or just have some email to open up everyday.
I met a guy NOT on here - through my local VFW. I am now in an email relationship with him because he is in Iraq. He left right after I met him. We are finding out everything about each other and by the time he comes home I think we will know each other better than if we dated lol

Celibacy - a more common choice than people admit?
Posted:
9/28/2006 5:16:12 AM
This is great! I wondered how everyone handled this and what kind of reaction they got from others. I have been celibate for 15 years by choice. I haven't met anyone special that I feel I want to share this with. It means more to me than physical release. However, when guys find this out about me they either 1. decide that they are going to change this condition RIGHT NOW or 2. run for the hills thinking I am defective in some way. Someday my Prince will come!

No lovin I have no idea why. I too thought they would be glad that I hadn't been running around all these years. I truly believe that they think it is 'weird'.

Lovin - I totally understand. I have had a couple of dates in quite a few years. Just needed to take care of raising and supporting my kids so I stopped dating. Now I find men are skeptical and wary of me. Oh well.

Dog The Bounty Hunter Arrested
Posted:
9/14/2006 5:12:04 PM
Again I say, Dog could do a million other things to make money. Instead he's working to solve a problem created by the industry he works for. Which in more cases then not involves giving creak heads, people with enough problems as it, is a really damn hard time.
Hey Jack, do you have another thought in your head or is your record player needle stuck?

Dog doesn't 'pick on crackheads'. His company lays out the money for these criminals and if they skip then he loses that money. He isn't a bailbondsman for fun. He has to try to catch them before he loses that bond. And obvioulsy, the american lawmen couldn't find this creep in Mexico but he did. More power to him. I hope he gets out of there quickly.

More trouble in the Church Singles Group
Posted:
9/12/2006 6:16:58 AM
RDToo do not feel bad that you were right about this guy. Sometimes we need to follow our 'gut'. These guys are surprisingly charming - it is what helps them get over on these kids and even adult women. Head straight for your pastor or whoever is in charge, do NOT pass GO, do NOT collect $200, just get to the man in charge. If it is a board then go to them. Bring the proof from the internet and be a hero to the children of your church! Don't do anything anonymously since you have nothing to be ashamed of.

One third of older women date younger men

I go out to a VFW regularly with a bunch of lady friends. We are all over 50 and love to dance. We linedance, fast dance, anything. We rarely sit down all evening. I have found that the younger guys are always asking me to dance and trying to romance me (lucky me). I think it is because the younger girls come in and sit and look pretty and bat their eyelashes but never get out of their seats. These younger guys are looking to have some fun and not necessarily sex. The guys my own age sit there at the bar and exercise their elbows and nothing else.

Help! I'm gonna be 60! LOL

Rossal: First of all, you look wonderful and you are going to have a great birthday with your attitude. I will be 60 in a few years and have friends who have already gotten there. They are a blast to go out with, good looking, and great dancers. The second thing I want to say is not to worry about your 'church'. God knows what you went through. I too was abused in every possible way by a husband many years ago. We went to a Catholic priest for counseling who told us that he felt a husband had the right to smack his wife around if she got out of line. Nice, huh? I am no longer Catholic lol lol. But I have seen other denominations where pastors think they are 'God' and forget that they are only His servants also. Best of luck to you!

Would you take in your grandchildren???

cille - I tried to email you but you are not accepting email from females. I just wanted to say to you - do NOT give up on getting custody of that boy! I fought until the courts gave my grandson back to his mother. But in the meantime, I was able to give him stability and teach him how to be a good human being. We are close to this day.

Hey down2earth, my sympathies for you and those children. When I was in my early 40's and still raising 2 of my 4 children alone, my 16 year old daughter had a baby. She was in no position to take care of this child and ran away and got into a bad lifestyle. I got legal custody of my grandson and had to take him to daycare at 6AM, go to work, trust my son (10) to get himself to school and come home and be alone for an hour or so. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do physically and emotionally. When he was 4 she got her life together and took him back. He still spent every weekend with me. I moved to NC from NY about 5 years ago and he comes down and spends every summer with me. We have a bond that cannot be broken. I am not sorry for what I did even though it was hard on me. That boy is a good, moral, sweet 13 year old boy today and I take SOME credit for it. I hope your family can do something for those children. I do not trust the foster care system. I will pray for your family.

Crystalheart - I am a cancer survivor who lost my hair due to chemotherapy. It is starting to grow back now and I am thrilled. But during treatment I got several really nice wigs online at Paula Young. Not very expensive either. I got long ones and short ones. My friends thought they were great and looked quite natural. You might want to consider that. I intend to keep them for special occasions.

Beaches, that is the silliest thing I ever heard. I guess there is no hope for me at all. I am just 5 feet and maybe 1/4 inch. I have always dated men 6 feet or taller for some reason. And yes, the parts DO line up ok.

Well, I am a grandma also but you would never know it by my actions. I dance at least 3 times a week, work out 3 or 4 times a week, play in a Hillbilly Band, swim and do pretty much whatever my friends are ready for lol lol. My kids call me and say 'why are you never home?'. I have a grandson that spends time with me and cannot keep up. Yet, when I look at the profiles of men in my area they all say 'cuddling, passionate kisses, walk on the beach, watching movies, etc.' One gentleman emailed me and asked what I liked to do. I answered him and he wrote back and said "oh I would never go out dancing or anything". Give me a break - we are older not dead!
