Jack: It's not "our" policy. You're talking about our leaders. We elect them, but in the end, we don't really tell them exactly what to do.
Keep in mind that the whole country doesn't exactly vote for the same person, and the fact that at least 80% of Americans now despise Bush, even if they DID vote for him.
Also, this doesn't apply to me - I travel. I try to learn a bit about the world around me, since it's my goal to see as much of it as I can. Given, my knowledge of places isn't perfect, but I try to pick up a bit of everything that I possibly can.

Again with generalizations.
I'll counter by asking what use that knowledge would be to many Americans who will never even step foot into Canada.

One thing we'll all surely agree on: Engineer should really stop posting in all caps.
Another thing that would be nice to agree on: every country has it's problems. Not a single one is perfect, and at times, some are far worse than others. The thing is, I rarely see any Americans bashing on said countries over it (correct me if I'm wrong, however, I am within a number of fairly sized forums with the same arguments going on constantly). I'm personally offended by these blatant generalizations, especially since most of you are grown adults and should be above such trivial, childish, nonsense.
Seriously, now, is it so hard for people to do something as simple as GET ALONG and maybe, you know... not bash each other for at least five minutes?

Of course it has been neglected, but after so many years, a lot of people just don't care anymore. They want to get on with their lives without these things on their minds. As for not being able to point out a place on a map, that's not really something that's isolated. I'm fairly certain that there are a lot of people around the world who couldn't tell you where a lot of places are. I, personally, can point to some specific areas when given a globe (not perfectly, mind you), but the point is that it's not a huge necessity to most people, and there's really a lot of things more directly important to them.

Exactly. What the hell is your problem?
I can easily judge another country as well, but that's just downright ignorant and stupid.

Has anyone NEVER had a ONE NIGHT STAND?

Haven't done it. I generally have to develop emotions for someone to feel okay about that.

Has anyone been brave enough to meet someone with no pic at all?

Doing it myself. Likely this weekend, even.
