for the gun control people

You MUST be Canadian. It's been my experience that most crooks adopt the "Spray & Pray" method of gunfighting. They aren't very accurate & definitly not very well trained in firearms use...even when shooting at each other. The homeowner has a DISTINCT advantage in knowing their own home...and how to defend it with a weapon they've practiced with.
Yes, I am Canadian, and proud of it.
It's been my experience that many people with guns think they are skilled with them, and suffer the consequences for that false presumption when trying to defend their home against the supposedly inferior and disadvantaged crook.
On another note, guns are used for MORE than just home defense, they're also used to keep predatory animals at bay.
There aren't many predatory animals in urban North America, where you'll find the majority of pistol owners.
If Canucks were allowed to carry pistols, that young lady would likely be alive & healthy.
You do not know the circumstances about the attack, so you don't know if she would have lived if she had a pistol.
Also, it is quite shameful of those of you who are exploiting this tragedy to push your agenda on these forums.

Ufos in the Bible

This is why in media, video and movies we get this evil alien disinformation … The Star nations are not evil at all. We humans have psychopaths as leaders and people with great wealth and influence all pretending to be goodie two shoes. They may fool you, but will never fool me.
I must confess. I am the insidious force behind all the anti-alien propaganda. It is my revenge for having watched the pilot episode of the tv show Meego.

Ufos in the Bible

First let me say, two things. I don't believe in UFOs since I've never seen one
People stating they don't believe in UFOs is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. A UFO is an unidentified flying object. If you see something in the sky, you don't know what it is, and it is moving in a way other than falling, then it is a UFO. That does not mean it is an alien spacecraft. It could eventually turn out to be a duck wearing a wig and a poncho. However, until you know what it is, it is a UFO.

Conservative Vs Liberals
Posted:
10/26/2009 7:55:07 PM
Liberals see the Constitution as an archaic document that has little relevance in the world today. After all it was written by some old white guys whose views don't represent the people of color, minorities. Liberals feel they know better than the founders what is best for the country.
They view it as an ever changeable document to suit the "needs" of our time without following the requirement to pass amendments.
Conservatives view the Constitution as the highest law in the land, that is timeless in it's wisdom. It was, is and will be relevant for all generations of Americans. They view the founding fathers as perhaps the most fortuitous gathering of wise men in the history of the world.
They view it as a sacred document whose ideas and ideals need to be preserved and only changed carefully using due diligence utilizing the constitutionally prescribed amendment process.
Where in this post do you take into account that while conservatives were defending Bush when he was ignoring the constitution, the liberals were protesting his actions?

Rush Was Punked: “Obama Thesis” Hoax

True, but the article was made unavailable initially
You initially claimed it was not available until after the election, when it was actually made available in February 2008.
I only brought it up to illustrate the attempt at suppression of information, you know like Obamas Thesis equivalent paper mysteriously disappearing....
There was nothing mysterious about it.

Incorrect. The Snopes article shows that the Obamas made the thesis available on Politico.

Fox news ratings speak for themselves. Seems that Fox has the highest ratings of any Cable News network. Guess many others like seeing what is happening in the world too.
Not only is Fox the highest rated Cable News network it seems to have more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined, actually a bit over a 1/2 million more viewers the CNN and MSNBC combined.
The National Enquirer is highly popular as well. Does that make it a paragon of integrity and honesty?

These are just a few of the misstatements/lies Obama made during his campaign and in his book.
I noticed you only gave one link to the 'mistatements' you listed, and that link was to a forum with subjects such as the flu vaccines being designed to kill people. Afraid to show us your sources?
Anyways, here's something containing information on some of your 'mistatements' and a number of others:

Wonder Woman doesn't even wear glasses in her alternate identity. She relies solely on the masking power of a Stars and Stripes bustier - apparently nobody looks at her face when she's wearing it.
They made some changes to the DC universe a number of years back. Now Wonder Woman's real name is public knowledge, as she is the Amazonian ambassador.

The fact is that this award is still at issue today.
From the Washington Times they found that the committee was split.
Perhaps you didn't notice in the article the use of the word 'initially'. After debate, all the members of the committee agreed on the choice of Obama. This was covered pages ago in this thread.

As far as any evidence that contradicts my assertion that the committee awarded the prize to Obama in an attempt to somehow influence his future foreign policy decisions...No Proof at all has been offered that adequately contradicts it.
You made the claim, the onus is on you to prove it.
Much opinion and criticism but thats about it....
Perhaps you haven't realized, but all your posts about the prize on this thread are nothing but opinions and criticism.

Why is it necessary to use slurs or insults just because someone or some group is different or believes differently than you and is not a threat to your own freedoms.
Our country was founded on the freedoms speech and differences. Our country's freedoms are about the ability to be different and think differently without people singling you out, as long as there are no threats to others. Its been a long battle to keep these freedoms and to make them available to all.
Please remember these words whenever you are posting about Obama and other liberal-minded people.
Apparently racial slurs are OK if you disagree with the Democrat party line.
You're a big man to admit it. Accepting responsibility for one's words and actions is a good first step, hope you can keep on that road.

Very true, and it is where I ended up to since no one has provided any information that disproves my contentions
The onus is on you to prove your claim, not the other way around.
we can argue about the words manipulate influence or whatever but the committee chairman made it very obvious by his own admissions that the prize was awarded not based on what Obama had done but on what the committee would like him to do......
If by this, you are once again claiming the committee is hoping to manipulate him, no, it is not.

I may be wrong but in my opinion Obama got the award simply for having similar political and world views to the committee members.
This is likely true. Being as their similar political and world views are based around peace, I don't see how this is a bad thing.
He accomplished very little if anything tangible to deserve a Peace Prize and the committee awarded it to him hoping that in some way it would influence his future decisions... After all of these pages there has been no proof offered that contradicts my contention..
You seem to have once again somehow failed to see the posts where we show your claims are based only on conjecture and a pre-decided bias about what was in the videos you linked. Be that as it may, you made the claim, the onus is on you to prove your claim is correct. So far, you have fallen far short of that goal.

This is not an award that one usually sees within the skits of comedians. Since Obama won the prize it has been the point of many opening late night comedian shows and jokes throughout the media, and internet.
When a person makes jokes about something, it doesn't necessarily mean they are opposed to it.
As to something being deleted from the thread, you might want to speak to the moderators or read the rules. There are ways to present information on any thread and moderators don't just go around deleting posts just because of nonsense complaints.
Sometimes they do. I have personally witnessed this, and also experienced it firsthand.

Do some of you honestly believe that all these folks would turn their guns on their own families? Some may, but I'm sure the majority would not; the US is more intergrated then it was in the time of Lincoln and Davis (the Civil War).
That, however, is not an argument conducive to needing a gun. If the majority of the people with guns are on your side, then you have no need for one.

Well since you seem to be anti gun
I'm not really against guns. I'm against them being in the hands of people who want them for the wrong reasons. Unfortunately, many gun owners fall into this category.
If, for example, you (and I mean a generic you, not necessarily any particular person in this thread) want the gun in case someone breaks into their home, that is the wrong reason. In this situation, many people with a gun will suddenly think they are Harry Callahan or Rambo, and decide to give the criminal what for. What they don't take into account is that if the criminal also has a gun, the criminal is likely better at using it. In this scenario, the things in your house aren't important. Your family and yourself are important, and you should be doing whatever you can to reduce the amount of danger to them. Unfortunately, going out to do battle with the criminals greatly increases that danger.
On another note, based on what I see of people in my job and my daily life, I do not want many of those people having access to a butter knife, let alone a gun.

It is interesting to see how people who hate Obama hate everything about him, even things that he has no control of like winning the Prize, that level of devotion is kind of scary..
On other matters...
Whether he keeps the money, donates it, or whatever, isn't the point. The point is, is he even allowed to accept it without Congress' consent? Geez, don't be so defensive...I think it's an interesting question and might even set a precedent one way or the other.

Right, but the amendment also covers harassment and emotional distress. Its interesting that people keep leaving that part out. I think thats the problem the Republicans had with it. It still does not make it an Anti-rape amendment.
If so, that makes it an anti-rape ammendment that also covers harassment and emotional distress. I fail to see how that makes it a bad thing.

I watched the video and listened to what the committee had to say the rationale they used to justify picking Obama and was left wondering how any one could see it as anything more than a Political statement
I don't think anyone argued that it isn't a political statement.
and a subtle effort to influence Foreign policy
We can't see what isn't there.
Obama may have been chosen to Win the Prize...but in my opinion did not do anything to EARN it
The people who belong on that committee, who are the authorities on who deserves the award, have a different opinion.

here you go msquared....this is "handgun inc's"agenda
Well, let's examine this:
- It's a memo with inconsistencies, which can't be substantiated, on a gun owner's web site.
-It is from 16 years ago, with separate agendas for five and fifteen years, and as far as I can tell, none of the things on the agendas have come to pass.
-It is from an organization which no longer exists in the form it was then.
This is your smoking gun, that shows there is a current movement to completely ban guns?
