sorry if this is innapropriate

Not all men are submissive. Some guys have fetishes. Some women have fetishes too. My ex did. She liked to have cum on her face. Anyway back to your question, just ignore men like that cause all they're interested in is sex.

When you shouldn't dig for the truth.

You were a rebound my friend. It's a shame that things like this happen to a person, but you have to play the hand that life deals you. Someone out there will treat you with respect instead of lying and betraying your trust.

How do I help her?

Never would be a rebound person. That's complete disrespecting a person's feelings. I went through the same tragedy a few years back and my friends dragged me out of depression. After all, five years with the same person and losing her was trully damaging.

Back to the issue, she completely worshipped him and has done nothing but talk to me about him. I don't want to play Dr. Phil, but I just feel powerless. How do you help someone when you've been through the same pain?

A Soldier's Last Letter to his Wife
Posted: 9/13/2009 8:57:19 PM
My dear Sarah.

The indications are very strong that we shall move in a few days -- perhaps tomorrow. Lest I should not be able to write you again, I feel impelled to write lines that may fall under your eye when I shall be no more.

Our movement may be one of a few days duration and full of pleasure -- and it may be one of severe conflict and death to me. Not my will, but thine 0 God, be done. If it is necessary that I should fall on the battlefield for my country, I am ready. I have no misgivings about, or lack of confidence in, the cause in which I am engaged, and my courage does not halt or falter. I know how strongly American Civilization now leans upon the triumph of the Government, and how great a debt we owe to those who went before us through the blood and suffering of the Revolution. And I am willing -- perfectly willing -- to lay down all my joys in this life, to help maintain this Government, and to pay that debt.

But, my dear wife, when I know that with my own joys I lay down nearly all of yours, and replace them in this life with cares and sorrows -- when, after having eaten for long years the bitter fruit of orphanage myself, I must offer it as their only sustenance to my dear little children -- is it weak or dishonorable, while the banner of my purpose floats calmly and proudly in the breeze, that my unbounded love for you, my darling wife and children, should struggle in fierce, though useless, contest with my love of country?

I cannot describe to you my feelings on this calm summer night, when two thousand men are sleeping around me, many of them enjoying the last, perhaps, before that of death -- and I, suspicious that Death is creeping behind me with his fatal dart, am communing with God, my country, and thee.

I have sought most closely and diligently, and often in my breast, for a wrong motive in thus hazarding the happiness of those I loved and I could not find one. A pure love of my country and of the principles have often advocated before the people and "the name of honor that I love more than I fear death" have called upon me, and I have obeyed.

Sarah, my love for you is deathless, it seems to bind me to you with mighty cables that nothing but Omnipotence could break; and yet my love of Country comes over me like a strong wind and bears me irresistibly on with all these chains to the battlefield.

The memories of the blissful moments I have spent with you come creeping over me, and I feel most gratified to God and to you that I have enjoyed them so long. And hard it is for me to give them up and burn to ashes the hopes of future years, when God willing, we might still have lived and loved together and seen our sons grow up to honorable manhood around us. I have, I know, but few and small claims upon Divine Providence, but something whispers to me -- perhaps it is the wafted prayer of my little Edgar -- that I shall return to my loved ones unharmed. If I do not, my dear Sarah, never forget how much I love you, and when my last breath escapes me on the battlefield, it will whisper your name.

Forgive my many faults, and the many pains I have caused you. How thoughtless and foolish I have oftentimes been! How gladly would I wash out with my tears every little spot upon your happiness, and struggle with all the misfortune of this world, to shield you and my children from harm. But I cannot. I must watch you from the spirit land and hover near you, while you buffet the storms with your precious little freight, and wait with sad patience till we meet to part no more.

But, O Sarah! If the dead can come back to this earth and flit unseen around those they loved, I shall always be near you; in the garish day and in the darkest night -- amidst your happiest scenes and gloomiest hours -- always, always; and if there be a soft breeze upon your cheek, it shall be my breath; or the cool air fans your throbbing temple, it shall be my spirit passing by.

Sarah, do not mourn me dead; think I am gone and wait for thee, for we shall meet again.

As for my little boys, they will grow as I have done, and never know a father's love and care. Little Willie is too young to remember me long, and my blue-eyed Edgar will keep my frolics with him among the dimmest memories of his childhood. Sarah, I have unlimited confidence in your maternal care and your development of their characters. Tell my two mothers his and hers I call God's blessing upon them. O Sarah, I wait for you there! Come to me, and lead thither my children.

Sullivan

Written to Sarah Hunt Shumway on July the 14th, 1861 by her husband Sullivan Ballou. The next week he was killed at the 1st Battle of Bull Run. Your opinions?

How to reject a man that won't hurt him?
Posted: 9/10/2009 10:35:08 AM
I've got to be honest here - you lied to the guy about your "boyfriend." That's straight up cruelty to the poor guy. There he is trying his damndest to win your affection and you tell him a horrible lie. What if he finds out this is not true? He won't be able to trust you and just maybe, he will tell other guys how you tried to decieve him.

Just be gentle and say that although you seem like a nice enough guy, that you're not willing to pursue a relationship. There you have it.

When freedom is too much and enough...
Posted: 9/5/2009 7:40:12 PM
Been single now for almost 4 yrs now my friend. Was with her for 5 yrs - invested everything into that relationship, but it still went kaput. Anyway, after it crashed I drowned myself in music - isolating me from the rest of the world. I'm still lonely and have a severe mistrust of relationships because she cheated on me and that was the reason of the breakup. We have to accept the damage that was inflicted and hope for the best.

Posted: 7/16/2009 12:12:50 PM
Any guy over the age of 20 in their right mind would not want to date someone under 18. That's just sheer stupidity and can get you in trouble with the law. So yeah, I definitely make damn sure she's 18 or above.

In regards to emailing
Posted: 7/16/2009 12:09:25 PM
Honesty would go a long way in this world. Instead of leaving it in the inbox where a person can see 'unread' just delete it. That gives someone hope for a response. So leaving a message in the inbox can be a form of torture for some people.

MAKING PREMATURE JUDGEMENT
Posted: 7/14/2009 6:23:10 PM
Why should judgments about a person be based on physical features? An average looking man or woman may be a lot more accomplished than the eye candy. He or she may be more thoughtful and less arrogant. People on here claim that looks don't matter, but that is a lie - it's plain Social Darwinism. Would a hot looking woman date an average looking guy who is accomplishmed (graduated from college, successful in life, but lacks good looks) or a guy who is figure is chiselled from stone, has a hot car and is eye candy. I'm sorry, but this is just the way things are and always will be. Life really does suck man and we all have to accept it.

is it unreasonable to expect a response?
Posted: 7/14/2009 6:02:39 PM
You can usually tell . . . wait I just mispoke - you can always tell by what someone says. I take a look at a profile whether she's hot or not and see what her interests are. What she wrote is the most important part though. Most of the time when I write someone it's due to their accomplishments, similar interest etc etc. Sometimes they write back, most of the time they don't. I consider it rude when someone took the time to write something nice and not receive a simple "thank you" back. Well, that's my two cents worth. Good luck buddy - all guys on here including myself need it.

Rejection, insecurity or was burned by a woman in the past. Sometimes a guy can convince themself that they're not "good" enough for the person they like or vicea versa. Hope that clears the fog somewhat.

Why do women associate money with romance?
Posted: 7/6/2009 10:27:56 AM
Successful = money, nice car, etc etc. Romantic . . . where I live that is dead my friend. Every woman I've encountered is looking for a deep pocket. I have over $15,000 worth of debt and that came from earning a BA, but that doesn't seem to matter. Anyway, good luck.

looks or profile, what attracks you first?
Posted: 7/2/2009 9:33:00 AM
Humans have the nasty habit of basing their first impression on looks so we skip the profile. They drop a person a line and assume that he or she is nice. In actuality they may be a total a-hole. People don't realize that some are gold diggers, cheaters, liars etc etc. Personally, I read the entire profile because I don't want someone who'll treat me like crap. Anyone who soley bases their impressions on looks may be missing a diamond in the rough and the rough's name is an "average joe." Social Darwinism at it's finest.

do any girls actually want nice guys?
Posted: 2/6/2009 4:40:44 PM
Some girls claim they want a nice guy. Being punk, we're often mistunderstood and classified as "bad boys." But when a woman finds out that we actually have feelings and are not pricks, have a shitload of money in our pocket, decent looking or don't buy into that macho crap and then we're cast out like a leper. I find that very fikle and disgusting. Liars.

I supposedly dated a girl who wanted a nice guy for 5 years. Sure she was nice to me - that's why she cheated on me for a year. When I found out, I dumped her ass on the spot. I have issues with what a woman tells me now because I was burned hard. I've tried to date again, but find it hard to believe what they tell me. I've met a few in person that I talked to on here and when the saw me, they're like "oh . . . nice to meet you." and I never hear from them again. Sure enough they claimed that wanted a nice guy and said "be yourself." If they can't accept you for who you are, then they can piss off.

why do guys have to initiate everything?
Posted: 2/6/2009 4:01:32 PM
Sometimes bro, when we see a woman we're attracted to we freeze up. Been there and done that a few times myself. Lately for the past 3 years I've had zero luck with decent women - only hood rats. I was cheated on so I sometimes get the feeling that I don't deserve a nice girl - only one that'll treat me like shit. But back to the main point being yourself isn't always the answer. Put your best foot forward and act like a gentleman. Hopefully it'll work.

An Irish/American Civil War Song about a Heroic Irishman
Posted: 10/1/2008 7:20:55 PM
Free & Green:

Captain Taggart took the field
With his men as hard as steel
And we drove the bloody rebels to the sea
Before the guns were stilled
There were many hundreds killed
There's many an Irish girl sad tonight
When the smoke had cleared
It was just as we had feared
Captain Taggart lay wounded on the ground
With his head upon my knee
There he met eternity
I proudly closed his eyes and then I cried

Chorus:
Its whiskey in the mornin', whiskey in the night
Another Irish soldier-lad, has fought his final fight
We'll toast him till were drunk Boys, and dowse the candle light
Tell them Captain Taggart, is comin' home tonight

Well, we took his body home
And the drums and pipes did drone
And pulled a fine black casket through the streets
We told his grievin' wife
That he loved her more than life
And gave to his young son his father's sword
Now the people, they all dream
Of an Ireland free and green
Where nowhere can be heard the battle-cry
The fighting's gone too long
And it just drags on and on
I'd like to know some peace before I die

Chorus x2

I thought maybe an Irishman/woman would like this

Songs to honor our fallen soldiers
Posted: 10/1/2008 7:04:02 PM
Written in 1890 based on Captain Samuel Taggart, an Irish officer who was killed on August 25th, 1864, at the battle of Ream's Station, VA. This song honors his memory. I would like to read the lyrics of songs that honor America's fallen heroes.
Please post responses

What does that phrase "tiocfaidh ar la" mean in gaelic? I'm half-Irish and I should know I what it means, but forgive an ignorant Yank. Where I heard that phrase was I actually read the lyrics and heard the tune on youtube (Men Behind The Wire Rockall). So I would appreciate it if someone told me the meaning of the phrase. Thank you

2 years gone.. confused on what to do
Posted: 7/13/2008 7:46:32 AM
Sorry to hear about that. You just have to let go. First loves are the hardest to get over and some take longer to get over. I broke up with mine because she cheated. Five years went down the drain. How I got over her was strange, but that really doesn't matter here. Bro, you just have to let go. The more you hold on her and hope to get back with her, the less available you'll become. Women pick up on that weakness.

I wish you the best of luck

Feeling hollow inside
Posted: 7/11/2008 1:13:30 PM
I know how you feel there. I've been there before and that emptiness absolutely sucks. You're putting a facade on the outside, but deep inside. How I got that feeling is a long story and I never want to return to that place. Anyways, you have to grit it through - listening to music helps. Social Distortion helped me get out of the snake pit. Try the song "Ring of Fire" (although a Johnny Cash classic) - that's the one that helped me.

Good luck

Songs for American Idol - a Little More "Dirty"?

Should classic 90s rock/grunge songs like The Cranberries: "Zombie", Hole: "Celebrity Skin", Stone Temple Pilots: "Dead and Bloated", Nirvana: "Lithium" etc etc etc be included in the song choices? Other than me does anythink that American Idol should add grunge or something more difficult like these? I'm tired of the same old genre being sung over and over. Opinions please.

Long Distance which is driving me insane
Posted: 3/18/2008 10:35:22 AM
Can someone tell me how to deal with long distance relationships? My friends have tried to help, but they don't seem to help at all. My feelings for her are so strong that I just want to be with her and not stuck in California (where I live). Can someone tell me how to control these powerful emotions? It has been 2 years since I've been in a serious relationship (which broke my heart badly) and I need advice.

Is it true that Flyleaf is a Christian band? I mean, if they are it doesn't really matter cause I always thought they were a secular band. They've got some powerful lyrics and it's sick. Does anyone have any answers?

Jason Bourne vs James Bond
Posted: 8/8/2007 1:11:37 PM
In a strictly hand-to-hand battle (no gadgets), who would win? My money would be on Jason Bourne because he is trained to simply do one thing - kill. Jason Bourne is not a super spy or anything, he is simply an assasin taught in various different forms of fighting ranging from sharpshooting, infiltration, hand-to-hand combat, improvised weaponry, martial arts, evasiontechniques and various other fighting styles. I have yet to see that in a Bond movie. Bourne doesn't need a gun to kill, all he has to use really are his fists. I have yet to see Bond kill someone with the martial arts so sorry Brits, Bond would get his ass handed to him easily.
