Car problems
Posted: 9/17/2006 8:08:14 PM
I'm sorry, but a coolant leak will NOT be coming from a fuel pump. I believe you mean the water pump. The fuel pump on that vehical is located inside the gas tank.

Car problems

I don't know how the emissions laws are in BC, but here in the USA all 1996 and later model cars have what's called OBD-II On Board Diagnostics. A simple scan of the computer's codes will give you an idea of what may be cuasing the problem. The idiot lights coming on in reverse sounds like it's possible a problem with a Transmission Control system. The coolant problem could simply be a bad coolant cap. The turn signal indicator sounds like a problem in the combination switch inside the steering column. Good luck.

I'm not attracted to women who have them all over but one on the ankle or the lower back above her ass is a big turn on for me.

ACNE
Posted: 9/11/2006 6:43:50 AM
I had the typical teen acne. Dermatologist put me on Accutane. While it did clear up the acne, it had a horrible side affect on me. I was in constant pain in my back and in joints. It was a rough period to go through, but it was worth it.

what do men want?
Posted: 7/20/2006 6:59:54 AM
Perhaps becuase she is all of those things, most men might assume she's already in a relationship, or that she's out of their league. From your description of her she sounds like any man's ideal woman. At the very least, she sounds like MY ideal woman. :) Maybe recommend she try posting a profile on POF, and interact with people here in the forums. Maybe she'll find what she's looking for here.

Operating System Not Found

When you start the computer you will normally get a black screen with white text. Somewhere on the screen you will see something similar to "Press F2 to enter set up". Differnt bios chips will use different F buttons. Check the Gateway website. It should have the information on there.

SIngle moms...
Posted: 7/6/2006 11:43:56 AM
Well I've never been married, nor have I fathered any children (that I know about ). I've never dated a single mom, but that's not becuase I've actively chosen not to. Some guys might find it too much pressure. Not only does he need to get to know the woman he's dating, but probably needs to seek approval from the kids as well.

What's your favourite funny movie quote?
Posted: 6/11/2006 3:45:01 PM
Elwood: It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?

New David Gilmour album...
Posted: 6/11/2006 11:23:02 AM
I know this is a bit OT, but Roger is now touring. I saw the broadcast from Rio. He lipsycned just about every song. He missed vocal cues. And they didn't even turn his microphone off, so you could hear him whispering into the microphone to the pre recorded vocal track. Sad, just sad.

All my files from the external harddrive suddenly disappeared
Posted: 6/8/2006 3:51:19 AM
You've learned the hard way that backing up your data is important. Never keep important data on just one place. Hard drives can fail at any time without warning. That being said, if the shop was able to recover part of the data, you have a good chance you may be able to recover all of it assuming futureshop didn't make things worse. Get your drive back, use a data restore program, then return the drive for a new one.

Generation X domestic skills

My mother is a great cook. My sister picked up on it quickly since she is a mother of 4 and a stay at home "mom" while her husband is active military. As for me, I never had the patience to prepare a meal. When I'm hungry, I'm ready to eat. Don't want to wait 30mins to an hour cooking food. That being said, lately I've been learning to cook small meals and working my way up to more eleborate stuff.

New David Gilmour album...
Posted: 5/31/2006 7:36:44 PM
As a major Floyd fan I too was excited to get the new album. I do find most of the album enjoyable, except for Pocketful of Stones. It's probably the least Gilmour-like song on the album. I wanted to see him live on the tour, but could not go. However I have heard and seen some recordings from the tour and the album takes on a completely new life performed live.

the slowest pc ever!!!!
Posted: 5/26/2006 4:55:47 PM
1.00Ghz will run xp. I doubleing your memory will certainly help. Without knowing what brand of motherboard or computer, I couldn't tell you which type to buy, so you will probably need to contact a local computer repair shop. Also, uninstall programs you don't use in the Add/Remove programs section.

Other helpful things: deleting temp files
Clearing interent history and cache files
Turning off System Restore

You can find out how to do these things using Google. Search for things like "make xp run faster"

the first progressive bands...
Posted: 5/25/2006 8:39:13 PM
I guess Pink Floyd did it in a more accessible, fan friendly way, where it was more in a pop context, in five or so minutes, as opposed to ten minute noisefests from Crimson. In that sense, I think Floyd--and love 'em or hate 'em on this angle-- pretty much invented (or perfected at least), the commercially progressive pop/ hard rock genre, in which Supertramp, Yes and Rush followed suit.

This may be true of the Pink Floyd studio versions. Many of the songs were extended quite excessively live from 1968-1972. A good example is the dvd Live at Pompeii.

Class action against Yahoo Personals and Match.com for fraud

True.com definetly sends out false "winks". I get replies from people saying I sent them a "wink" and I know damn well I didn't. Tue is also the only dating site I've seen that requires you to call to cancel.

Vinyl vs. CD
Posted: 5/25/2006 7:04:28 PM
Vinyl does indeed sound terrific if you use a decent playback system. A 45 played on a kid's record player is not going to even come close to providing the same fidelity as a cd played even on a a cheap portable. I have both vinyl and cd (even 8tracks and reel to reels too) in my collection. Cd wins out for portability, and of course easier to make custom mixes and import stuff in to ipod's etc. But for serious listening, I'll take a well mastered vinyl over a cd.

If you go to the start menu > control panel > system, there is a tab marked General. It may be the first tab that comes up by default. On that tab you should see three sections of information. System, Registered to, and Computer. On the Computer section, it will tell you the type of proccesser, it's operating speed, and the amount of memory (RAM) you have. If you give us this information, it may aid us in making recommendations.
